St. Patrick’s Cathedral says it was

St. Patrick’s Cathedral says it was duped into hosting a “sacrilegious” funeral for a transgender activist, which left church brass outraged after she was eulogized as “St. Cecilia, mother of all whores.” (snip) The cathedral says it had no clue about Gintili’s background. (snip) Ceyenne Doroshow, who organized the funeral, told the Times that those close to Gentili wanted to have her funeral at St. Patrick’s because the Fifth Avenue building “is an icon, just like her.” However, she admitted that she never mentioned Gentili was transgender when putting it together.

Duped? How is this possible? Consider: "Came out in 1984". "Sex worker" "Started a number of organizations". ...and played Ms Orlando on "Pose" on FX. ....and St Patrick's staff due diligence didn't find anything on her? Hello!?! This, at one of our illustrious Catholic churches?!!? I suggest you check staff, clean house, and review vetting procedures. ....and come clean with the truth on how this happened.

I am surprised that the pastor did not review the eulogy. Most churches don't allow people to get up in front of the congregation and spout nonsense.

St. Pat's was "duped"? When the funeral attendees started arriving, was there no staff person who noticed something alarming going on? And what about the officiant? Father Edward Dougherty should never have allowed this sacrilege to proceed. He should have shut it down immediately. Instead, he chose to fully participate. Who IS that guy and where's the Archbishop?!?

To the decision makers at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, maybe a more robust due diligence is in order. Here is a clue, anything labeled transgender might want to set off red flags. I don’t believe they cared at all until what went down became public knowledge. Then the outrage set in. That is what happens when you have no moral compass. It takes courage to stand for what is right and protect your religious beliefs. It is apparent that the folks in charge failed miserably. Better have a cleansing of the auditorium before you begin your religious services. There is an evil taint there that needs to be dealt with.

Two things will save the Catholic Church. Everywhere in the world, have weekly Adoration of The Blessed Sacrament in our churches, and everyone pray The Rosary daily - Christ and His Blessed Mother. We will change; so will our culture. The old If -Then challenge. Never hurts to try. Archbishop Sheen said years ago that it will be up to the laity.

Trannies like very other Catholic are entitled to a Catholic funeral Just as Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are, even though they disobey Much Catholic Orthodoxy. But this was a known atheist, and this is one of the most prestigious Church's in America. What if I as a Catholic went to New York and asked for a funeral at St. Patricks. they would tell me to go to my Parish. Why is it that I believe that money was exchanged. They may have been fooled into it, but something was promised > What was it $$$$?

I expect nothing less from the current 'catholic' church. One finds it interesting that the Cathedral chose to sound like Democrats under oath testifying. The 'I don't recall', 'I don't remember', 'I wasn't aware excuse' and 'I wasn't aware' flourish When Democrats testify. I will give the Church credit for not going Full Fanny and accuse people of lying, stop yelling at me, I'm not on trial here, etc.

"Near the altar, mass cards surrounded a photo of Gentili with a halo over her head with the words “transvestite,” “whore,” “blessed” and “mother” above the text of Psalm 25, according to The Times." St Patrick's can claim ignorance of the intended service all it wants, but from the moment it was being set up all the way to the start of the service, they could have done an about face and cancelled the event. No way they didn't see it for what it was while the setup was unfolding.

Close down and reconsecrate. You might even go so far as to excommunicate those people who misused the church. Certainly you take names and forbid those from re entering St. Patrick's.

Outgoing Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, a top contender to be the next leader of NATO, encouraged Western allies to stop fretting over the prospect of former President Donald Trump returning to the White House. “We should stop moaning and whining and nagging about Trump,” Rutte said to the Munich Security Conference, according to Reuters. He added, “It’s up to the Americans. I’m not an American, I cannot vote in the U.S. We have to work with whoever is on the dance floor.” (snip) “We need to invest in our defense expenditure. We need to massively ramp up arms production, and we need to massively do more in support to Ukraine,” Rutte said.

An education advocacy group hit Portland Public Schools (PPS) with a federal civil rights complaint Thursday over a policy that requires factoring students’ race and gender identity into disciplinary decisions. Parents Defending Education (PDE) alleges in its federal civil rights complaint that PPS is violating civil rights law and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment through its new “Student Support and Discipline” policy, which requires educators to respond to “disruptive student behavior” by developing a behavior support plan that considers characteristics like race. The policy also requires the school district to assign educators based on race and gender identity.

One of the tricks of knowing when a leftist judge is pulling a fast one is if the decision is really, really long. (snip) Indeed, generally speaking, in my thirty-five years as an attorney, I’ve never seen an appellate court uphold damages so disproportionate to actual injuries suffered—and again, there were no injuries in this case. The fact that there were no injuries in itself means that the case, from ig to zack, denied Trump due process. I don’t see the judgment surviving an appeal, that’s for sure. In laying the foundation for his sweeping decision against former President Donald Trump, Judge Arthur Engoron observed that “this is a venial sin, not a mortal sin.” Yet, at $355 million, one would think that Engoron had found Trump to be the source of Original Sin. The judgment against Trump (and his family and associates) was met with a level of unrestrained celebration by many in New York that bordered on the indecent. Attorney General Letitia James declared not only that Trump would be barred from doing business in New York for three years, but that the damages would come to roughly $460 million once interest was included.

Many gasped recently when Donald Trump said he’d encourage Russia “to do whatever the hell they want” with NATO allies who don’t pay their share of the transatlantic alliance’s defense spending. It was a brazen but hardly surprising turn from someone who has shown a long and loyal affection for Russian President Vladimir Putin, a wanted war criminal. Trump has called Putin — a former KGB agent who jails and murders critics — smart, savvy, and his friend. Trump sided with Putin after a U.S. intelligence community assessment found Russia meddled in the 2016 election. More troubling, in 2017 Trump shared highly classified intelligence with the Russian ambassador.
