Former president Donald Trump is taking the witness stand today as he bids to convince jurors he should not pay any damages to his accuser E. Jean Carroll despite having been found liable for defaming and sexually abusing her. Lawyers for Carroll are expected to wrap up their case in federal court in Manhattan, and Trump is then expected to give what could be explosive testimony in his own defense. Carroll, 80, is suing over Trump's June 2019 denials that he raped her in the mid-1990s in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in Manhattan. The former Elle magazine advice columnist is seeking at least $10 million.

The woman is mentally deranged. She NEVER even met Trump, and certainly was never sexually assaulted in any way. Here story is a total fabrication, without even proof that she was EVER within miles of Trump at any time, let alone at that place....at an UNKNOWN TIME, not even year claimed to be known. Total fraud.

Donald Trump has a reputation of having an fondness exclusively toward drop dead beautiful women, E. Jean Carroll certainly does not qualify in this category. Most likely she has to sneak up on a glass of water to get a drink. Donald Trump would not find E. Jean Carroll to be a woman he would want to be seen with..

FTA: “Trump, 77, has consistently denied wrongdoing, claiming he did not know Carroll despite photos showing them together, and accusing her of making up the allegation to boost sales of her memoir.” The “evidence” consisting of a photograph as being proof positive that private citizen Donald J. Trump met Ms. Carroll and her then-husband, John Johnson [Documentary filmmaker, television correspondent/anchorman, artist (canvas painting), author. – Wikipedia] is a stretch considering that President Trump’s business, social, and political careers have put him in the presence of multitudes of people and, therefore, should not be considered as a legally binding knowledgeable and conscious recollection--especially if that encounter was fleeting and lasted only moments as the photograph suggests since President Trump’s wife at that time, Ivana, standing next to him appears to be disengaged and disinterested. As an aside, the photograph is quite striking in that, for this household, the immediate and repeated reactions strongly suggested the woman to be Marla Maples; however, because the woman is in the presence of Mr. Johnson, it seems necessary to allow that the woman may be Ms. Carroll. Regarding the claim that President Trump accused Ms. Carroll of making up the allegation to boost sales of her memoir, a court transcript reveals she admitted to having done television and podcast interviews that included promoting her book; in her own words: “The journalists wanted to hear about President Trump, I SAW THAT THE BOOK WAS NOT SELLING—so I tried to talk about it.” ~~~ https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/01/i-saw-that-book-was-not-selling-e/ ‘I Saw That the Book Was Not Selling’ – E. Former President Donald Trump is garnering majority support in the Republican primary race in Nikki Haley’s home state of South Carolina, a Tyson Group survey released this week found. The survey showed Trump with 58 percent support in the South Carolina GOP primary race — 27 points higher than Haley, who garnered 31 percent support. Another 11 percent remain undecided. Among Republicans specifically, Trump holds a 41-point advantage over Haley, 69 percent to the former governor’s 28 percent. Trump also holds the lead among independents, 48 percent to Haley’s 33 percent. However, Haley has the clear advantage among Democrat voters, 49 percent to Trump’s five percent:

Jill Biden is in South Carolina on Friday for her first campaign event in the state as Republicans turn their eye to their own competition there and Democrats prepare for their first primary. As Nikki Haley and Donald Trump fight it out to win the Republican primary, the first lady will tout President Joe Biden's re-election effort at an event with educators. South Carolina saved Joe Biden's quest for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 when it gave him his first primary victory, setting him up to be the nominee. In return, Biden pushed to have its primary the first for Democrats this year.

My husband eventually made the decision to get a gun, which surprised me a little as he is a very peaceable man. Yet, he is a lover of the U.S. Constitution: peaceable, but no fool. This week is our 30th anniversary. For our anniversary present, we bought the gun together. We have talked about buying a gun over the past few years. We live in the South in a semi-rural area bordering the Gulf of Mexico. Traditionally, gun ownership is considered mostly normal here.

Columbia, S.C.— Joe Biden doesn’t need to worry about his prospects in South Carolina’s Democratic primary next week. He’s got that locked up. He also knows he’s not likely to win the solidly red state come November. It hasn’t voted for a Democrat since 1976. He’s spending this weekend in the state nonetheless, intent on driving home two messages: He’s loyal to the state that saved his campaign in 2020 and he’s determined to win back Black voters here and elsewhere who were central to his election last time but are less enthused this go-round.

The case took an unexpected turn when Judge Lewis Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, reportedly threatened Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, with jail time and denied a request to refute sexual abuse allegations. The courtroom witnessed tense moments earlier. Judge Kaplan mandated silence, stating, “No interruptions, no audible comments,” following some objections, presumably from Trump’s legal team.
