Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake called on the state's GOP chair Jeff DeWit to resign after a recording emerged of him trying to bribe Lake to stay out of politics for two years. In the recording, first reported by the Daily Mail, DeWit, 51, can be heard asking lake to name her price not to run. (snip) Following the report, Lake called on DeWit to resign. "He’s gotta resign. We can’t have somebody who is corrupt and compromised running the Republican Party," she told an NBC reporter during Trump's New Hampshire primary victory party.

This was supposedly recorded last March. I guess she is ok with his being corrupt and compromised until the recording got out. Now he needs to resign, she says. Why didnt she call for him to resign in March? Spare me the righteous indignation.

Without knowledge of a recording, she would have no evidence of the encounter. If she had brought this public to begin with, they just would’ve smeared her as crazy and a liar. I don’t blame her at all for not coming out until the existence of recording was known.

Who made the recording? Did she and if so her responses don't count because she knew she was being taped. The ten minutes are worth listing to. It demonstrates how deep the swamp is and having this guy heading up the Arizona Republican Committee is why they lost in the first place. I found the audio quite chilling.

#6, it doesn't seem likely (though it's not impossible) that she made the recording, as she could have just produced it when she made the accusation last March, instead of waiting almost a year to release it.

#12 It seems to me the McCain family still has a lot of political power in Arizona actually too much power. Kari Lake is a strong supporter of Trump, therefore the McCains(mother and daughter) don't want her to be the senator from Arizona. This may sound like a conspiracy theory but I think Cindy McCain also has something to do with this. She has a lot of money to throw around.

Donald Trump on Thursday joined a push to disqualify District Attorney Fani Willis from prosecuting Fulton County’s election interference case, saying her defiant remarks at a historic Black church showed “racial animus” toward the former president and his co-defendants. In a court filing, Trump’s two top Atlanta attorneys accused Willis, who is Black, of a “glaring, flagrant, and calculated effort to foment racial bias into this case.” That could unfairly prejudice a jury, they said, and violated Georgia’s rules of professional conduct.

Democrats are clamoring for a major standoff at the southern border between Texas and the federal government, but in doing so, they are putting President Joe Biden in a politically disastrous position. (snip) By all indications, Abbott is prepared to enter into a standoff of sorts with Biden at the southern border, and the fact that Republican governors from Utah, Idaho, Virginia, and Georgia are all coming to his support is strengthening his hand as he takes on the president’s lawlessness. If Democrats want to open the border forcibly, Abbott should dare them to do it. Morality, common sense, and the people are all on his side.

Democrats are desperately fighting to keep the Fulton County prosecutor’s office in charge of the Georgia criminal case pending against Donald Trump and his associates. And that tells you all you need to know about the merits of the get-Trump prosecution launched by the now-falling Democrat star Fani Willis. (snip) disqualifying Willis and her office would send the case to the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, where an independent prosecutor would be appointed to take the case over from Willis. The planned execution raises heated questions about the ethics of using the untried method to execute Smith, who has been through one previous execution attempt. If the execution is carried out, nitrogen hypoxia would be the first new method of execution since 1982, when the lethal injection was introduced. What is nitrogen hypoxia? Nitrogen hypoxia is a form of execution in which an inmate is deprived of oxygen until they breath only nitrogen, causing asphyxiation.
