The targeting of another U.S.-owned commercial ship Wednesday shows the militant group remains intent on continuing its attacks in the face of multiple rounds of U.S. military airstrikes. The Houthis launched anti-ship ballistic missiles at the U.S.-owned, flagged and operated commercial ship Maersk Detroit as it was transiting the Gulf of Aden, according to a statement from the U.S. Central Command. The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Gravely shot down two missiles and a third fell into the water. There were no indications of damage or injuries in the attack. Comments:

I'm afraid one of their missiles will eventually get through. A fire on a cargo ship will be catastrophic.

In the 1980s the Iranians ran "the tanker war" in the Arabian/Persian Gulf. And the shot a lot of missiles into and at ships, and they mined the waters. It turns out that all modern tankers are 'double bottomed' design with a dead air space in the bottom of the hull, with the actual petroleum tanks well above the external hull. This turns out to be an excellent "mine proofing" design, too. Tankers hit mines, had minor damage, minor flooding and went to a port for inspection, minor repairs and continued their journey. And a large cruise missile hitting the side of an oil tanker punches in...goes "bloomp" and causes a modest leak, and typically, little or no fire. After a few American warships, notably the frigate Samuel B. Roberts, were struck by Iranian mines, Reagan had had enough. They found an Iranian ship with identical mines on board, captured it and identified the serial numbers on the mines as from the same sequence as recovered mines in the "anonymously" laid minefields. Then we burned one Iranian destroyer to the waterline, and shredded about 80% of the upper structures of the other. Took over a "oil platform" which the Iranians had used as a spy and control location, and we leveled it. Iran stopped fooling with us for a decade or two. We need a repeat performance. The two Iranian ships were rebuilt, although most authorities said it was massively more expensive than buying new ships. I think they did it as a political stunt...wasting millions to say "they weren't destroyed" Sink a few of their ships, level the factory that makes those cruise missile/drones.

Apparently, the air strikes aren't extensive enough. Maybe what's needed is several days of carpet bombing.

#7 has the correct tactic, combined with #8's suggestion. Not in the desert, but where it will count. But....... it'll take President Trump to do it. The Thugs respond only to being afraid...... and they're afraid of Trump. The HairSniffer is dancing to Zero and ValJar's puppet strings, as well as those of his Iranian handlers. As long as he is in office, the Thugs and Terrorists have nothing to fear. It's a repeat of 'Jimmah' and the hostages held by Iran.... who were released within hours of Ronaldus Maximus being inaugurated.

Looking ahead to the general election after former president Trump’s comfortable win in the New Hampshire GOP primary Tuesday night, CNN’s Van Jones advised President Biden to fly under the radar on the 2024 campaign trail, suggesting his lethargy is a political liability. “If I were Biden, I would stay hidden,” Jones said. “And I’ll tell you why: He doesn’t inspire confidence. ARRIAGA, Mexico - A new migrant caravan of approximately 2,000 people formed in southern Mexico on Monday, largely made up of people that have been on the move since Christmas Eve who say the Mexican government's promises of transit visas last week never materialized. The migrants, including some carrying young children, are walking to the southern Oaxaca town of Tapanatepec, about 800 kilometers (480 miles) south of Mexico City by road. They hope to reach Tapanatepec by nightfall. The group of mostly Central American and Caribbean migrants are ultimately headed for the U.S. border, the caravan's leader Luis Villagran said. Last

CBS 2's Sabrina Franza reported how only about 1% of the 26,000 migrants in the city have received their documents with assistance from the city and she dug into why the number is so low. Alabama was set to carry out the first-ever execution by nitrogen hypoxia on death row inmate Kenneth Eugene Smith on Thursday. The planned execution raises heated questions about the ethics of using the untried method to execute Smith, who has been through one previous execution attempt. If the execution is carried out, nitrogen hypoxia would be the first new method of execution since 1982, when the lethal injection was introduced. What is nitrogen hypoxia? Nitrogen hypoxia is a form of execution in which an inmate is deprived of oxygen until they breath only nitrogen, causing asphyxiation. Nitrogen, a colorless, odorless gas, makes up about 80% of the air we breathe. It isn't deadly until
