“Who was the real me? I can only repeat: I was a man of many faces.” Those words by author Milan Kundera could well have been written for Kevin Morris, a critical figure in the unfolding Hunter Biden scandal. (snip) Lawyers are not supposed to pay the bills of their clients. Specifically, California Bar Rule 1.8.5(a) states that “[a] lawyer shall not directly or indirectly pay or agree to pay, guarantee, or represent that the lawyer or lawyer’s law firm will pay the personal or business expenses of a prospective or existing client.” They are required to maintain clear representational boundaries.

Washington Democrats are attempting to pass legislation that would allow felons, including serial killers, to vote, serve on a jury and even run for office while incarcerated. House Bill 2030 is sponsored by Dem. Rep Tarra Simmons, an ex-convict who was sentenced to 30 months in prison in 2011 for theft, drug, and firearm crimes. The former convict was previously successful in restoring voting rights to convicted felons after their release. During a hearing on the bill, Republican Rep. Sam Low asked Simmons regarding the Green River Killer, “Would Gary Ridgway's rights be restored with this bill? Simmons replied, “Yes, they would.”

There are always Oscar snubs. But this one is striking the media as particularly egregious: Greta Gerwig wasn’t nominated for best director for Barbie — a film that was not only the biggest hit of the year and helped to bring moviegoers back to cinema with the success of “Barbenheimer,” but was also nominated for best picture and, by any measure, was a very tricky project to pull off. In addition, Barbie star Margot Robbie was snubbed for best actress, while Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera were nominated for supporting.

California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff experienced a career-defining moment during Monday’s senate debate, when he was called out by Republican candidate Steve Garvey. Garvey might have retired from professional baseball, but that didn’t stop him from hitting a serious slugger into the heart of Schiff’s political career Monday, as they faced off for the late Dianne Feinstein’s open seat. During one of his rebuttals, shared on Twitter, Garvey turned to Schiff and said, “I think you’ve been censured for lying.” The silence only hung in the air for a moment, but it felt like an age.

The Georgia Senate is set this week to authorize a subpoena-powered investigative committee to probe the alleged corruption of Fani Willis, Fulton County’s district attorney, Breitbart News exclusively learned Monday. The potential committee is significant because Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) refused to launch a criminal investigation into Willis last week, citing the need for a currently non-operational oversight committee to open the probe. The proposed Georgia Senate committee could hold subpoena power as soon as later this week to “secure the attendance of witnesses or the production of documents and materials” related to Willis, according to a resolution put forth by Georgia state Sen. Greg Dolezal (R-Forsyth).

A group of congressional Republicans, led by Rep. (snip) Despite the WEF’s apparently healthy ability to fund itself, the U.S. taxpayer has bankrolled the WEF to the tune of millions, mostly in the form of USAID, State Department grants, and other funding. The U.S. government committed $9.1 million to the WEF in 2023, mostly in multiyear grants. One USAID grant, for example, issued the WEF over $50 million in funding, which has been distributed piecemeal since 2015.

Whose votes is she trying to win? Those of patriotic voters who are thoroughly sick of charges of “racism” being used as a weapon or those of the entrenched Washington establishment that weaponized those charges? The answer isn’t even close to being in doubt. Haley came out big for identity politics saying: “We were the only Indian family in our small southern town. I was teased every day for being brown.
