There's a fascinating new report from the Washington Post about how worried Barack Obama is about Joe Biden's chances of winning in 2024. According to the report, Obama's first concern about the campaign is about the structure, that Biden's chief advisers are in Washington, D.C., while his campaign is in Wilmington, Delaware. Obama thinks the top people should either be in Wilmington or that the people there should be empowered to make campaign decisions, because as it is now, according to the report, they have to go through D.C. Obama believes that doesn't make for an agile, quick response campaign. While Obama hasn't recommended anyone to help the Biden team,

Disney-owned Pixar, the animation studio behind blockbuster franchises “Toy Story,” The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo,” is set to slash jobs, according to reports.
The studio has “completed production on some shows and now has more staff than it needs,” Reuters reported on Friday, citing an anonymous source. TechCrunch had reported earlier this week that Pixar will chop headcount by as much as 20% this year, reducing staffing to roughly 1,000 from the current 1,300 that work for the studio.
However, the anonymous source disputed that number, saying the studio had yet to determine how many will jobs will be cut, but added that the layoffs were “imminent.”

The Texas National Guard has seized control of a park at the U.S. southern border and is now blocking Border Patrol from entering the area – part of an effort to stop the surge of illegal immigration into Texas and a move likely to significantly increase tensions between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the federal government.
The state government has taken control of Shelby Park in the city of Eagle Pass, Texas, which has been at the center of the migrant crisis that has engulfed the U.S. border. Authorities have now set up razor wire and fences to block off the area.

Yesterday I wrote that San Francisco is a cult. It was a VIP article, so you may not have seen it. I wrote that piece after viewing the disgusting behavior–and cultish behavior–of the pro-Hamas crowd after San Francisco made its ridiculous call for a cease-fire. That a city government felt the need to do this was ridiculous, but then again the whole city is ridiculous.
The video was bizarre. Today I saw more evidence of just how awful the behavior of the activists was during the hearing before the vote to condemn Israel.

A United Airlines flight from Sarasota, Florida, made an emergency landing at the next-closest airport after an “open door” indicator light illuminated Wednesday, less than a week after the shocking mid-flight Alaska Airlines door plug blow-out.
United Flight 2434 was heading to Chicago when the light came on, causing the pilots to alert dispatchers and reroute the plane to Tampa, according to a spokesperson for the airport. Trump spoke as the judge was trying to find out if the former president would follow rules requiring him to keep his remarks focused on matters related to the trial. Asked whether he would comply with the guidelines, Trump defied the judge and simply launched into his speech.

The World Bank's private investment arm has mobilised nearly $1 billion to rebuild Ukraine's private sector and is shifting its broader investment focus towards equity, its managing director told Reuters.

Families which used to encourage young men to enlist are doing so in far fewer numbers for reasons which are obvious to many. New woke policies, the vaccine mandates and the embrace of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies mean white recruits are looked over for advancement in the US Military today. All of these factors have all contributed to this decline
