Americans are reproducing at a rate that is too low to replace themselves. At this rate, Americans will go extinct. It’s like the situation in Italy where Catholics have become so adept at violating the Church’s prohibitions on birth control that they’ll be gone soon. I figure the only way to save Italy for the Italians is for the Church to permit – nay, mandate – birth control. If there’s one thing Catholics have learned over 2,000 years, it’s that their highest spiritual calling is to disobey their infallible-ish Pope. Only if the shepherd requires birth control will his flock

This article makes it sound as if it’s young men’s fault. It is not. The available females are simply too feral to have relationships with. Guys aren’t interested. This is a consequence of the “Women’s Movement.” I have three sons and I have heard them talk about this.

Why should good family oriented young men literally throw their lives and livelihoods away on low quality feral females? While men are the arbiters of commitment and thus marriage, women are the arbiters of sex. Most (65%) young women by the age of 24 have had 2-10+ sexual partners by graduation time, with 36% in the 5+ bracket (and women are notorious for underreporting their true number of sexual partners, while men overreport). Being a loose woman is the norm now because we as a society have eliminated "shame" from our cultural lexicon. BUT men still understandably don't want to marry a loose woman.

Another big factor is what happens if the marriage unravels. The man usually loses on all fronts. He's left funneling money to an ex-wife who may or may not spend it wisely.

There’s a movement called MGTOW- men going their own way. Whether they know it or not, more and more men seem to be following this movement. More and more it seems the traditional way of building a good life- getting a good job, getting married, having kids together- is now more often a sure road to bankruptcy, loneliness and shame. Too often women decide to opt out of the deal. Men are cast away, losing their house and kids and half or more of their assets, burdened with huge child support orders and then labeled as deadbeats if they should ever fail in their draconian obligations.

The author should write an article about marriage. What percentage of marriages fail? It's supposed to be permanent. Why did people get married? For the love? Don't need marriage for that. Matter of fact, one should be in love before they get married. For the financial security? Get a real education and that's not a problem. For children? That's a huge commitment on top of the commitment to marriage. Many of the reasons for marriage are gone. I know of one marriage that is breaking up. I know of another marriage that ended in divorce, and the wife absolutely hates the husband, and the husband was probably never up to the commitment in the first place. I know of at least one unhappy marriage where both are unhappy with each other but never divorced. Marriage is a huge commitment with many consequences if it doesn't work. I question how many of these marriages should have happened in the first place. The number of people not marrying and not having children tells me many people are becoming aware of the pitfalls and are taking a pass.

Outside of the possibility of living a little longer because one is married, what's in it for the guy? Everything about marriage is a minus for the guy. Add in that many of young women are viewed as truly obnoxious and one has a perfect storm of no children. Most young women don't understand the difference between being assertive and being rude. They view being obnoxious and rude as being assertive.

Sorry for the second post, but these kinds of article just bring out the misogyny. It's 2023. Women are not retiring when they get married anymore. If married couples have children, they have a choice to either have one or both (but usually the wife) stay home with the children or get help so both can continue working. Should a women who has given up her career to stay home with the children be left with nothing in a divorce? Isn't that a reason not to have children, or to have fewer children and to put them in day care--all things that women are also criticized for? Marriage has disadvantages for women, too, especially if they work. Their income figures into a divorce settlement and if they make more or have more in retirements or pensions, they will have to share it with their ex-husbands. So men, you can't have it both ways. If you want to be protected in a divorce, support your wife in having a job or preferably, a career. But if you want your wife to stay home to manage the household and take care of the kids, be willing to support or at least give her a fair settlement in a divorce. And if you decide the burdens of marriage are too much, stay single but be honest about it and use protection.

Sensational rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud appeared for an interview over the weekend immediately after leading his Houston Texans to a playoff win. The exhausted, battered, victorious 22-year-old opened with these words: “First and foremost, I just want to give all glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.” The game was carried by NBC. They posted Stroud’s postgame interview but, predictably, edited out his opening statement – the very statement that the player himself said was “first and foremost” to him and his terrific game. Stroud is Black. It used to be that liberals tolerated Black displays of religion because they thought such displays were cute

Back in the good old days of Roe v. Wade (unless you were a fetus) we paid poor people to have abortions. Ok, we didn’t pay the money directly to them, but instead paid it through Medicaid to their abortionist. Abortions that were not paid for by Medicaid were almost always paid for by private insurance or were done for free at abortion clinics as a “public service.” It’s safe to say that the killing of hardly any babies was paid for by the mother, except perhaps in a lifelong emotion way. That’s the way we set up the system. We didn’t want such women to have babies.

This president’s son, who has absolutely no business skills and typically is not even sober, has collected tens of millions from foreign governments and businessmen. Some of that money has found its way through labyrinth shell corporations and into the hands of the “Big Guy.” Some of it has not found its way into the hands of the Internal Revenue Service, though it should have. Six days ago, Donald Trump’s lawyers filed a 34-page brief in the Supreme Court. In legal-speak, their brief is called a “petition for certiorari.” It asks the U.S. Supreme Court to review the 4-3 decision by the Colorado Supreme Court banning Trump from the Colorado ballot. (The brief is available, in full, at the Supreme Court website.)  This case presents one of the most important legal and political issues of this century: Whether a state can exclude a national candidate from the state’s ballot on the grounds that he committed a federal crime that he was never convicted of or even charged with. But the media has largely ignored Trump’s brief.

Two thousand years ago, a carpenter lived a conventional life for 30 years in a tiny village in the Middle East. Then something got into him. He became, as they might say today, “radicalized” for the last three years of his short life. Historians agree that Jesus did exist. There are reliable ancient records of him. But most of what we know are opaque and contradictory accounts written decades after his death in what we now call the Gospel of the New Testament. In one sense, those Gospel accounts are profoundly simple. They say Jesus was the Messiah prophesized in the Hebrew Bible.

Under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, he is therefore ineligible for the presidency and would be removed from the Colorado ballot. A few points to consider: The Court on its own volition stayed its order until Jan. 4 to give Trump an opportunity to appeal the case to the real Supreme Court, the United States one. If he does so, and he will, and the Supreme Court decides to hear the case, and they will, then the order is further stayed until

A guy named Joachim Neander lived in a German valley about 400 years ago. He was a bigwig in the valley, and it came to be called “Neander’s Valley” or, in German, “Neanderhohle.” The name evolved with the language, and it morphed into “Neandertal” or “Neanderthal.” (Pseudo-linguists still debate which is right.) In a weird coincidence, the Neanderthal Valley is where they first discovered fossilized remains of an ancient human called “Neanderthal.” (What are the odds of that?) The fossils suggested that this particular Neanderthal was no ordinary human. He/she/they/it was very sturdy. The people who found him decided he was brute, in a bad way.
