A Republican senator and Yale School of Public Health dean recently sparred on gun crime, and one expert told Fox News Digital it was an example of how the left frames data in a way that misleadingly makes it seem like Republican-controlled areas are most plagued by crime. "Why do you think that Chicago has become America's largest outdoor shooting range?" Louisiana GOP Sen. John Kennedy asked Dr. Megan Ranney of the Yale School of Public Health at a hearing Monday.
Ranney responded by comparing Chicago to three red states and claiming Mississippi, Louisiana and Missouri "actually have higher firearm death rates."
"What about Chicago?" Kennedy asked.

We are living in a time of universal deceit. There are no facts anymore, there are just opinions or deliberate lies presented as facts. The best thing one can do with the word of an "expert" is ignore it.

Those three states have higher "Rates", but still nearly all in the same as the Chicago race/political cohort. They take place in Dem controlled areas, with democrat voting demographics.
In a small town of 10, if there are two fire arms deaths, generally a murder suicide, that equates to a 20% firearm death rate. Though "public" violent crimes may be otherwise totally absent.
In Chicago so far this year, 574 dead, 2890 total shootings. over 80% black victims and shooters.
75 victims Hispanic, only 15 perps described as Hispanic.
Only 24 victims were white, and only 4 assailants were described as white.
In Englewood alone Shotspotter detected over 15,000 rounds fired, other POC neighborhoods all over 6,000 rounds fired.

Louisiana would have the lowest violent crime rate in the nation if you took New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport out of the mix.

#2, FYI, when social data talks about "rate," unless specified otherwise, "rate" is number per 100,000 population, therefore in your "small town of 10" model, it would be impossible to calculate "rate."

The Left's "experts" are actually just expert at manipulating data to support a lie.

#5 defines an "expert" quite well.
#4 Must have trouble with double digits. What would one do with 6 digits? #2 was using an example.

4,
You do not need 100,000 people to state anything as a rate per 100,000. I do not think the left would have any trouble doing it even if it was bad form.
So, in a town of 10 with two gun deaths, that would be a rate of 20,000 per 100,000. Clearly it is a statistically absurd thing to do but the anti-gun crowd would have no qualms doing it.
We can thank Bill Clinton for making such distortions commonplace IMO when, with a straight face in his first SOTU address told Americans "And we did this without raising your tax rate" while knowing full well that everyone's taxes went up as the result of losing deductions.

Poster #3 states it best. The unspoken issue as always, is race. Birmingham, Alabama, St. Louis, Missouri and New Orleans -- the major cities of the cited "red" states -- are heavily and even majority black. Even among black-dominated cities, these three are leading centers of gunplay and murder. Their crime rates drive their states' totals.
It is unpleasant to have to repeat these facts. I'm only driven to it by the sniveling dishonesty of this Yale mountebank who wants to believe that Republicans have become murderous
