In 1949, the trailblazing anti-racist musical “South Pacific”––created by composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II––debuted on Broadway to wild critical acclaim, running for over five years in nearly 2,000 performances. A particularly powerful and influential song from the musical, “You’ve Got to Be Carefully Taught,” carried the message that hatred does not arise spontaneously in the human species, but rather is inculcated––taught, sermonized, infused––by parents, teachers, coaches, political figures or other impassioned haters. Here are the still-relevant lyrics:

To hate a People who have contributed so much good to Humanity, says much more about the haters than those targeted. And, not on the linked lists of amazing contributions, may I put forth: the Russian-born Jew, who became a resplendently patriotic American....Israel Beilin. You will know his name as Irving Berlin. He wrote over 1500 songs, with hundreds well-know and dozens of bonafide timeless classics, over a career spanning decades. He earned an Oscar, a Grammy, Tony and the Presidential Medal Of Freedom. But if he had written just two particular songs, he would remain in the hearts of Americans forever: God Bless America, and White Christmas.

It seems you just cannot keep this particular version of hate in check. Every few decades it explodes from within and the worst kind of animosity is let loose on this earth. This is the worst I have witnessed and it makes me fearful that there actually people in this world that are so evil. There is no place in our country for the people who could support Hamas. They are a cancer and that will metastasize and destroy us because that is who they are.

There is a stark moral difference between good and evil. The anti-Israel, Jew hating terrorists are organized and funded. The idiot college students with no knowledge or understanding of history are easily manipulated. At the rate known terrorists are pouring over our southern border this war will soon expand into the US. Be prepared.

My favorite musical of all time with delightful, uplifting songs and music. This article certainly keys into a profound song - and message. The lyrics are brilliant, but sad. After many decades of life, I still haven’t figured out how any human being could hold something against - let alone hate - someone because of the race, color, creed or region they were innocently and unknowingly born into.

A Michigan judge on Tuesday dismissed an effort to keep former President Donald Trump off the state’s ballot in 2024. The judge said that under Michigan law, the secretary of state does not have the authority to intervene in a primary election if the party chooses to list a candidate who would not qualify for the office. “The ultimate decision is made by the respective political party, with the consent of the listed candidate,” the judge wrote. The decision comes after a group of Michigan voters in September filed a legal challenge to Trump’s candidacy,
The Big Switch, GOP Is the Working Class Party 5 replies

In the post-World War II era, Democrats were labeled as the political party that represented average Americans. Democrats were credited with fighting for the rights of the working-class, minorities, women, and the disadvantaged. In contrast, the Republicans were supposedly the party of the country club elitists, the Chamber of Commerce, and the business tycoons looking to garner favors from the government. These generalizations may have resembled the truth through the years of Republican presidential nominees such as George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. However, in the last eight years, since Donald Trump became the leading Republican, the political parties have switched roles. Today,

The “March for Israel” — organized by the Jewish Federations of North America and Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations — is billed as an opportunity for “Americans from all walks of life” to condemn rising antisemitism across the nation and to demand that Hamas finally release the hundreds of Israeli hostages it is hiding in Gaza. “Israel must eliminate the terrorist threat on its border and restore safety and security to its people.

At the Telegraph, Michael Kelly draws an analogy to the Concorde: The man in the street has failed to embrace BEVs for the same reason he failed to embrace Concorde nearly 50 years ago: the extra cost – of order £10,000 per vehicle – represents an insurmountable barrier. People might pay the extra if they were getting something better in performance terms, but range anxiety and the lack of convenient recharging infrastructure remain formidable hurdles.
