Biden’s Food Inflation Crushes Household Budgets

The CEO of Target stores recently explained to CNBC that American consumers cut back significantly, “even on grocery items.” He relayed to the business channel that “even in food and beverage categories, over the last few quarters, the units, the number of items they’re buying, has been declining.” Admittedly, few on the political right will shed any tears for the executive suite of Target, a company infamous for its obsession with woke politics. Nonetheless, Target provides a key gauge of overall consumer health. After all, this chain of nearly 2,000 big box stores, with more than 400,000 employees, boasts a market cap value of $50 billion.

The price of beef is amazingly high. I was very surprised buying some at the grocery a week ago, since my wife buys it most of the time.$5 or more for hamburger, an a steak for $20 and up? Yikes. And most of the rest of the food has gone up similarly. Actually, the food is the same, the dollar is just worth so much less now that Nasty Nancy has devalued it by handing out literally trillions of dollars worth of money created out of thin air.

Well does not paying $8 for a jar of mayonnaise make you feel good that we are supporting a war in Ukraine. Those billions we send them has inflationary consequences. What is wrong with people that do not want to live less and give up their way of life for high mortgage rates funding the Ukraine war and EV vehicle subsidies. We can send millions to Ukraine but by goodness we cannot help people with the high cost of medication and healthcare. I am not in favor of government handouts but when the cost of healthcare exceeds the income of almost nearly all Americans it is time to reassess my stance.

Biden wants us to eat cat food as long as we keep funding the inflation causing Ukraine War effort. Oh yea and where is the money coming from to house the unappreciative illegal immigrants who are getting free food and hotel rooms, tents plus money for educating their children? Just keep printing it Joe. Hopefully we won’t run out of cat food!

Food security and inflation.. it's a huge issue. One reason we are using our small acreage for egg chickens, to grow out some meat chickens, and get a few head of commercial breeder hair sheep next year. Yes, there is the up front capital cost (and feed costs for the chickens) but if we can make 500+ lbs of meat per acre and quite a few eggs, we can keep ourselves and close by family in good quality protein for less than grocery prices.

The increased cost of food when going out has also been affected by the pressure on restaurants to pay higher wages and the costs have been applied to the purchase price of items. The "Dollar Menu" items are no more-- many have risen WELL OVER the 20% inflation we have seen since the Vegetable has been puppeted by his Master NoBama

Just finished talking to my daughter. Her husband, a cop, just left for work on his day off. He was picking up an extra day shift - currently he works nights. This is what they are doing to keep up with the price of food. Their children are teenagers and their family goes through a lot! She makes everything from scratch, grew a big garden this year, canned and preserved and dried like crazy and yet they still need extra income to keep up with costs. (She doesn’t work herself - she is capable and educated - because his monthly rotating shifts make it important for 1 parent to be available for the kids.) She budgets, uses coupons - there isn’t a lot more she can do! They just got a raise too but inflation outstripped it. My son in Texas works two jobs and his wife works to keep up with the cost of food and fuel for their teenagers. He’s a city employee, works construction on the side and his wife is a loan officer in a mortgage company. This is what regular people are doing to stay afloat.

Re #2, almost 100% of the "money sent to Ukraine" never leaves the USA....it is spent on replacement NEW, often upgraded versions, of the aging and nearing the end of shelf life equipment that Ukraine is using. Essentially none of the "money sent" is actually MONEY, it is equipment, and the US inventory is backfilled by purchasing new and updated, better replacements....and employing Americans to build it. You are far off base on your claim.

I have been putting Biden "I DID THAT" stickers next to the price labels on the meats in our local supermarket. It's a reminder that it's not the store's fault. Biden's War On Energy has raised the cost of fuel, which has raised the cost of Producing and Transporting EVERYTHING, in effect destroying the value of the currency.

Re #1. We decided to treat ourselves a couple of weeks ago with a nice beef filet. Just one since we are old and don’t eat as much anymore. Twenty bucks. We are also averaging $300 or more at the grocery store. That’s for two elderly people. That said, the price of take-out has also spiked. You can easily spend $20 or more at McDonald’s or a pizza joint. In that context, take the $20 filet, a .50 cent potato and a couple of bucks for salad ingredients and you certainly have a nicer meal than a burger, fries and large soda. I think you will see more people starting to cook more and more meals at home.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin III announced his retirement last week, setting off speculation on what the man who identifies as a “centrist, moderate, conservative Democrat” might do next. But it’s not clear how voting in lock-step with President Biden’s agenda nearly 88% of the time qualifies as centrist or moderate, much less conservative, using FiveThirtyEight.com’s scoring of Mr. Manchin’s voting record. Mr. Manchin, 76, has been in the Senate since he won a special election to replace the late Sen. Robert Byrd in 2010. While it’s true that his support for Mr. Biden has been less enthusiastic than that of his blue-state colleagues, his votes have also been consistently at odds

Axios reported that it obtained a "scathing" memo that was signed by 100 State Department and USAID employees that suggested Biden’s continued support of Israel has made him "complicit in genocide" as the Jewish state continues to retaliate after Hamas killed at least 1,400 civilians during the Oct. 7 terror attack. One of the many satanic paradoxes of the Third Reich’s architecture of the Final Solution was the requirement—mandated after the 1939 outbreak of the war—that Jews anywhere under German rule or occupation had to wear a yellow badge or armband with the Star or David. Yet was not all this elaborate bureaucratic need for identification embarrassing to the Nazi apparat? After all, if Nazi doctrine about supposedly manifest Aryan “racial” superiority—Nordic looks and build, superior intelligence, stable disposition—were so persuasive, then why the need for Jews to identify themselves?

few new polls out show former President Donald Trump ahead of current sort-of President Joe Biden. And ahead rather comfortably, leading nationally overall by enough and leading in five of the six “swing states” that have determined the last two presidential elections. Good news for him? Yes. The downside for Trump is that those leads shrink if certain third-party candidates are thrown into the mix. Without RFK Jr. in the mix, Trump polls well ahead of Biden – add in RFK Jr. and it shifts to a small Biden lead nationally and a “who knows?” in the swing states. But then add in Cornel West

The speech drew criticism from columnists in the Washington Post, Time, PBS, and the New York Times, among others. Much of it shifted between Johnson’s support of Trump, his church affiliations, and his penchant for employing biblical language. Each of the columns raced to the accusation that Johnson is a Christian nationalist. Yet none of them offered a counterargument to the fact that the Declaration of Independence actually does reference God in the course of justifying America’s separation from the British.
