The former tattoo artist and star of reality series "L.A. Ink" spoke about finding and restoring her relationship with God on the "Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey" podcast. She explained that in her 20s she had a "free-thinking mentality to question everything, especially authority." That led her to look into new age practices like witchcraft, meditation and yoga. "I was just searching for answers and meaning in so many of the wrong places like most people do," Von D said. After also struggling with alcohol and drugs, she became sober almost 17 years ago, but still found the non-Christian spirituality wasn’t helping her, comparing it to "short-lived band-aids on a sinking ship."

God Bless her and allow her to continue to be a light for her husband. I watched her interview and he seems like a seeker who hasn’t quite yet figured it out. Bless them both! She also said some encouraging things about Marilyn Manson. I hope he figures it out, too.

After I abandoned my Catholic faith I went all-in for the New Age occult stuff of the 1970's and '80s. I had magic crystals, threw the Tarot cards, read accounts of "spirit guides", followed astrology, practiced Transcendental Meditation and positive imaging. I was all over the map searching for the way to happiness after having aborted three babies. When I look back upon those decades all I see is darkness, and feeling as if I was struggling uphill with a heavy burden on my back. Three weeks after my 33rd birthday I had been laid-off for three months, and spent the day drinking cheap wine with the also out-of-work master-decreed boyfriend of my housemate. (Bad economic downturn in California.) After my BA in Greek and Latin receptionist housemate got off work, and they got lovey-dovey on the couch, I took a walk and ended up on the cliffs at Del Mar. I was standing only inches from the edge and could hear the roar of waves thirty feet below. I closed my eyes and slowly inched forward thinking, "It's not suicide if its an accident." Suddenly, a strong hand on my right shoulder yanked me backward and spun me around. When I opened my eyes, I was alone. I fell to my knees, and then my face was in the dirt. I made the most desperate prayer of my life. "Oh, God! If there's a man out there looking for me, I'm ready to be found! And if we've already dated, then we don't have to spend that first year getting to know each other and we can just get married!" Two weeks later I received a letter from TK. We had dated eight years previously and he had broken my heart. The letter was a beautiful apology begging to see me in person. A year later we were married in the Catholic Church with a Nuptial Mass. This year we celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. God is good and His Love is Everlasting.

A viral video of a Democrat abusing a poll greeter on Election Day in northern Virginia encapsulates how the demonization of “MAGA Republicans” and the weaponization of the justice system has unhinged and energized voters on the left. “You f–kng people tried to overthrow the election,” snarls the fair-haired, middle-aged man in tortoiseshell glasses and cargo shorts. “You expect me not to take that f–king personally? You f–king try to overthrow elections with violence and then you’re out here among decent people? What do you have to say to that?” The object of his ire was Matthew Hurtt, the clean-cut young chairman of the Arlington County Republicans

I am 94 years old and like many of you, I am exhausted by politics and saddened by what I see happening to America. I had hoped it was time for me to move to the sidelines and let younger generations continue the fight to preserve America’s founding freedoms and values. But, like so many of us, I realized that I could not let myself walk away; the stakes are just too high. We cannot let the America we see today be what we leave to our children and grandchildren. Many of our once-great cities have devolved into lawlessness with random violent attacks on innocent people, rampant looting, and large-scale homeless

Do you believe in coincidences? I used to. But like Macbeth I have just “supped full with horror.” That is, I have been flipping back and forth between the glitzy but pointless Republican debate in Miami and Donald Trump’s rally in nearby Hialeah, Florida. And here’s Exhibit One in my brief against coincidences: my office reading group is just now, as I write, reading Dante’s Inferno. Yes, could there be any more apposite reading? I am going to take a page here from that priest W. H. Auden talked about who advised the people who came to him for confession to “be brief, be blunt, and be gone.”

After Hamas massacred 1,400 men, women and children in Israel last month, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned that the terror group “and its allies” could inspire attacks on Americans "here on our own soil." He also told the Senate that the FBI is conducting “multiple, ongoing investigations” into people affiliated with the U.S.-designated terrorist group. What Wray didn’t say is that the FBI has been investigating Hamas’ biggest ally in America for the past 30 years – without filing any charges. Launched in 1994 as a secret front organization to support Hamas, according to declassified FBI wiretap transcripts and FBI testimony, the Council on American-Islamic Relations has, in the decades

The entire Democratic political establishment freaked out on Sunday morning when the New York Times published a story headlined, "Trump Leads in 5 Critical States as Voters Blast Biden, Times/Sienna Poll Finds." The story was based on a new survey in which voters in six key swing states — Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada — were asked whether they supported President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump in a 2024 matchup. The result: In five of those states, all except Wisconsin, Trump led Biden. The poll found Trump leading by 10 points in Nevada, by 6 in Georgia, 5 in Arizona and Michigan, and 4 in Pennsylvania

In 1953, the Swiss novelist Max Frisch published a play called The Arsonists. It's a pitch dark comedy about a small town ravaged by a group of maniacs disguised as traveling salesmen, who sweet-talk their way into people's homes and then set them on fire. Its protagonist is a dolt called Biedermann—bieder being German for honest, respectable, and upright. He's aware of the danger, and yet, when the arsonists knock, he lets them in. The tragedy, Frisch argues, is that he almost has no other choice: The arsonists are such smooth talkers that it's easy, when listening to them, to ignore the large drums of kerosene and the matches

Take their following tired talking points: “Refugees” We are told that the Palestinians after more than 75 years of residence in the West Bank and Gaza are “refugees.” If that definition were currently true, then, are the 900,000 Jews who were forcibly exiled from Muslim countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia after the 1947, 1956, 1967 wars still “refugees?”

Tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters massed in Washington, DC, Saturday afternoon before descending upon the White House to chant, “Allahu akbar” and “F–k Joe Biden” as they accused the president of genocide and demanded a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” the crowd dotted with Palestinian flags and signs cried at the start of the event, which drew attendees from across the country. The chant – which is growing increasingly popular in the wake of Hamas’ deadly incursion into southern Israel last month and Israel’s subsequent retaliatory attacks on Gaza – is widely considered antisemitic because it implies the elimination

In public education’s latest blunder, the Oregon Department of Education has just decided that basic reading, writing and math skills are not required for students to graduate with a high school diploma. Prior to the passage of Senate Bill 744 in the Oregon Legislative Assembly’s 2021 session, the state’s “Assessment of Essential Skills” requirement for high school graduation was sensible: “read and comprehend a variety of text, write clearly and accurately,” and “apply mathematics in a variety of settings.” Students were required to demonstrate these skills by “earning at or above a cut score on the Oregon Statewide Summative Assessment test.”

Once appointed Slovakia's prime minister, Robert Fico wasted little time in reiterating the nationalist populist agenda that propelled him to victory in the country's September 30 election. "You'll hear a sovereign Slovak voice from Slovak ministries and watch a sovereign Slovak foreign policy," Fico declared. It's a pledge that's in line with his campaign promises, which mixed extremist and pro-Russian narratives. And there's plenty of concern that Fico's return to power, five years after he was ousted over the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak, could help to undermine unity in the European Union and NATO.

Honest Reporting broke a bombshell today: Gaza-based photographers who work for the Associated Press and Reuters were on the scene of the October 7 massacre in Israel very early in the morning, ready to capture the moment when Hamas fighters raped, kidnapped, tortured, and slaughtered almost 1,500 Israeli civilians. Or maybe Reuters and the AP are paying money to people who knew that civilians were about to be massacred and either thought, “Yay” or “What a great opportunity to collect a paycheck.” Here's what Honest Reporting had to say: On October 7, Hamas terrorists
