Rep. Jamaal Bowman has been criminally charged for pulling the fire alarm during a House vote that would have avoided a government shutdown.
The New York Democrat called allegations it was deliberate 'complete BS' and claimed he thought he was opening a door.
But now the Capitol Police have referred him to prosecutors, who have hit him with one misdemeanor count and ordered him to appear in court. The September 30 incident took place in the Cannon House Office building and sparked calls from Republicans for him to be expelled from Congress.
The charge was for 'willfully and knowingly [giving] a false alarm of fire, in violation of DC code'

If you are so dumb you can’t tell the difference between a fire alarm and a door handle, should you really be a member of Congress?

Two tiered Just_Us system in full view. A 'misdemeanor count ' is all? Really? There are grandmothers facing life in prison for less than pulling an alarm to interfere with an official congressional vote. Let me guess, his 'crime' will be a punishment of serving on the jury in the Trump case.

Perhaps the new speaker of the House will take a different tact and insist on prosecution to the fullest and expulsion.
That would be what Pelosi would have done to an R who did it.

A criminal misdemeanor conviction will be like a blue ribbon badge of honor for a black Democrat. They're all crooks and their constituents are stupid. Or am I going too easy on them?

He mechanically "Shouted FIRE!!!" in a crowded theater of Govt, with the express intent of shutting down a legitimate congressional function...It fits the rubric of both "Terrorism"(striking fear into a large number), as well as the same charges many Jan 6'rs are doing double digit sentences foe...ones that raised no public alarm, or even entered a Govt building. Thus guy insisted upon THEM getting heavy heavy sentences.

Bowman was charged. Wonders never cease. Will a Soros prosecutor refuse to incarcerate him?

He's not going to receive any punishment for committing an act of terrorism. That's what has happened to all of the 1/6 people. Oh, I forgot, he's a democRAT and a black man. He gets a pass.

He needs to be expelled simply for lying about it. He had many opportunities to inform security and didn’t, he was buying time. Guilty! Get rid of him.

He willfully and knowingly pulled the fire alarm to intentionally interfere with an official government proceeding, correct?
Isn't this similar to what some have been charged with in the J6 matter?
