Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) joined the War Room with Steve Bannon on Wednesday morning following the voting last evening for the next Republican Speaker-designate.
During their conversation Matt Gaetz revealed the devious actions of the Old Guard Republicans in their attempts to derail Mike Johnson’s vote.
According to Matt Gaetz, Kevin McCarthy was hiding in the background actively working to sabotage the candidates who were running to replace him.

Make sure you watch the video. McCarthy was not the man to serve as Speaker. Thank goodness he is gone and we have someone in that position like Mike Johnson. Pray that he is given wisdom and the determination to make the right call on so many important issues. Today is a good day for the country and I haven’t said that in a long time.

Wish Gaetz had had this "Plan B" all figured out before the last couple of weeks,. Glad to see somebody was the adult in the room and ensured that everybody left that room prepared to vote for Mike Johnson as speaker.

It’s bad enough we have to deal with all the snakes in the Democrat Party. Now we have to deal with them in our own Party. Does the GOP have a death wish? Can’t they give up their egos for once just for the sake of unity?

I wish I knew who it was who called for that roll call. In the video/transcript that was not clear. It was genius, anyway.

So Gaetz was right all along and McCarthy was not the bumbling milquetoast he appeared to be. He was a back stabbing poltroon and a Pelosi operative. Nice to see someone is on the ball up there.

If true....From the article: "And here was the thing — It showed everyone that it was actually McCarthy who was working to knife Scalise. It was actually McCarthy who was working to knife Jim Jordan. It was McCarthy working to knife everyone, and he hadn’t yet figured out a way to knife Mike Johnson. And so he was worried that there was going to be this great unifying moment, and he scuttled the unifying moment."
The drama continues.

I was set to acknowledge that Matt Gaetz had avoided self-immolation with the selection of Mike Johnson as speaker. I should have known better than to expect him to be gracious in what he thinks is his victory. Quick as a grasshopper he is off to a sympathetic outlet to revel in his hatred for Kevin McCarthy. Low class as always.
If Mike Johnson is as savvy as reported he will keep Gaetz at arm’s length. Weeks of bad press is what he he is good at.

Wow. All of this treachery from Kevin McCarthy and the Gaetz Derangement crowd still piles on. For weeks we’ve been asked, “Where is Matt Gaetz?” Now, he’s here and he’s being told to shut up. Un-flipping-believable. And, people wonder why the GOP has such trouble.

Yeah, Gaetz was hung out to dry by several rino pubbies. McCarthy, you care to comment? Such is the circular firing squad schtick of the pubbie rino faction. You got to hand it to Gaetz for sticking to his guns and not wimping out. I am all in for Speaker Johnson. It's not a fun job, but he has what it takes to filter and channel the right stuff over to Chuckie and Turtle in the senate.

Hard truths aren’t always ‘gracious’, but they sometimes impart information that is much needed for understanding and wisdom toward cleansing from a toxic situation, and beginning a life changing healing process.
I’m thankful for answered prayers!
Mike Johnson, as one of the victims of the dirty deeds & as the new Speaker, could not have graciously told those truths.
Matt Gaetz told the hard truths that needed to be known by WTP. Yes, they exonerated him of false accusations that he had endured, but I choose to believe that he told them in an attempt to prevent a successful continuance of underhanded tactics by the same forces. Remaining silent about it would have allowed them the cover needed to hold onto their power, & thwart progress toward needed changes.
I want to know the names of the 43 cowards who tried to do their dirt behind closed doors, but didn’t want WTP to see it in the light of day. I’m not feeling very gracious about that.

Time will tell whether Matt Gaetz is the hero some here believe him to be or just another vindictive, grandstanding, ethically-challenged politician whose ego is his guide. I hope the time will come when I’ll have to apologize for misjudging him, but I don’t expect that moment to come very soon.

I'm a Trump supporter 1000% and I have no trouble filtering through his enormous ego and grandstanding. It seems that several Trump supporters here are having trouble filtering through the same characteristics of Gaetz.

Oh good gosh! Complete and total narcissist Gaetz found his opportunity to blame someone else for the chaos and mess HE created. Noticed he took the opportunity to push the blame of the disaster of the Speaker to McCarthy that had nothing to do with the recall. It was Gaetz. Gaetz doesn't work with Democrats, DEMOCRATS, to remove McCarthy, we don't have this chaos. I bet this Gaetz guys has been caught in bed with another woman by his wife and claimed it was his wife's fault. Its all about how wonderful Getz was to expose McCarthy. Wonder how long it will take Gaetz to screw Johnson?

I'll not throw any brick bats at Matt Gaetz, he's a 100% Donald J. Trump supporter and doesn't back down from a political tussle when he gets involved
- if I were a politician and I got in a jam, Matt Gaetz would be the first guy I'd call for support

Poor little posters crying about Matt Gaetz causing chaos. I for one am happy that he stood firm at the first of the year and pushed for McCarthy to agree to the rule change. I'm also happy that he stood firm and pushed the vote to oust McCarthy. We all know McCarthy was an egotistical RINO, and without Gaetz we would still be stuck with him.. Quit griping about Gaetz and celebrate getting rid of a RINO Pelosi stooge and getting a MAGA Speaker. I for one thank Matt Gaetz. McCarthy was a Boehner and Paul Ryan clone.

Well, I think I am too going to keep poster #13 and like comments at arm's length. It will be gracious for me. As our national debt soars and Kevin McCarthy gave Joe Biden everything he wanted, the American people will have to keep paying for all of it. It is about time someone had the gumption to do something. What some may call low class, ego-driven etc., I call it about time something was done. . .

McCarthy was WRONG from the beginning.
He was dragged kicking and screaming to HONOR the agreements NOT to do government as ususal with CR.s and Omnibus spending bills, and after 14 votes he finally relented.
Once elected Speaker, he was just another USELESS RINO just like Bonehead and RYANO!!
Now we find out he was the Benedict Arnold against those who might replace him. He was Piglosi's silent partner-- if only the Californians would rid themselves of such vermin who are only out for themsleves!
