A Biden administration official has resigned from the State Department, citing President Biden's announcement of material support for Israel. The official said he "cannot work" as the U.S. helps Israel in its war against the Hamas terrorist group. Josh Paul, who worked for the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, where he was responsible for transferring arms to key American allies, posted his resignation letter on social media. In it, he said "continued lethal assistance to Israel" prompted his decision to leave. "Today I informed my colleagues that I have resigned from the State Department, due to a policy disagreement concerning our continued lethal assistance to Israel,"

Indeed, a man of integrity at State. If only there were 10,000 more like him in DC. One wonders, though, if he would have taken the same action if Trump were President or opted instead to work behind the scene to undermine the stated policy.

Hey, Bozo: if you really believed what you said in that self-serving statement, you'd work to ensure Israel got what it needed to destroy all of these rats.

If only the other 2.3 million trough-swillers in D.C. would give up their undeserved, overly-fat paychecks so we who pay them can get relief from the financial loss as well as their swampy laws and directives....

He'd been there 11 years, and THIS response by Israel after Hamas slaughters hundreds is what "Triggered" him?
He claims he is resigning over "Occupation" of Gaza, but Israel pulled ALL troops out of Gaza before he ever came to work for the agency.
The USA has NEVER declared Hamas to be a US enemy, even though Hamas HAS declared itself over and over to be a US enemy. (Congress declared Hamas a terrorist organization and barred aid to it...but Obama and Biden both continued, in violation of legislated LAW, to send $Millions in "Security Funds" to Hamas armed forces, police, militias, navy/coast guard, funding both weapons and training.)

I’m sure this lefty will be lionized by the media for being a principled man, but it also reveals more than I would think they want. It reveals how much the state department has left wing ideologies. And it’s not an accident-Obama would hire leftists.

Such a martyr for the cause. One down how many more to go. At least he is a liberal who sticks to his principles, no matter how misguided. Now he will probably go teach at some university!

How fortunate for Biden. The person that disagrees with him quit instead of getting the DOJ to file criminal charges against the him.

Seems like the ability to set aside your opinions in favor of your country’s stated mission and allies would be a pretty minimal job requirement at the State Dept.

As a service disabled veteran and Native American, I resigned from the a solid leadership position in the federal senior executive service when Obama was elected, as I knew I'd disagree with his incoming policies and believed it was on me to either support the president's policies or go back to the private sector, so it was a clear, easy choice; however, trying to retire under Bidenomincs and his imposed rampant inflation, makes walking away from any position more challenging. Ole Josh at State did the right thing by resigning, although his reasoning vis-a-vis Israel, I do not support, but if the rest of his colleagues followed his lead, that would be good for our country and should be strongly encouraged.

Translation: “ I joined the State Department during the Obama administration, when functional Antisemitism and kneecapping Israel was not only fashionable, but sub rosa US policy. I hoped I could wait it out during the Trump administration, with the support of the thousands of like-minded denizens of the swamp in Foggy Bottom. Now I see, when a critical blow to Israel’s survival could finally be struck, the Biden administration doesn’t have the courage of its convictions to do so. Therefore, I must go to MSNBC, or even better, find a tenured gig at some Ivy League college where I can influence the next generation of elite swells. This statement should help secure that berth.”

This a33hole works for me. He doesn’t have a “policy”. He does his job and keeps his opinions to himself. Who do these people think are having a problem with what our policy should be? I don’t remember voting for this moron.

Hooray...move along...WE don't need fools in the government...WE already have two at the top of the list.....no worries...Moosad and IDF in Israel will handle the job....they will get justice for the victims in Israel...especially all the beheaded babies and torchered children....one mother saw the terrorists coming and put her son under her body were she was shot and killed...BUT... her son lived to fight another day when he grows up....the stories are more horrific with all the news coming out each day.....

#6, the State Department was a left wing sewer long before 0bama ever even thought about running for office in Illinois. I worked in communications (sending and receiving traffic, not at all political) for State behind the Iron Curtain in the early 80’s and our ambassador, after leaving office, wrote about his experiences dealing with them in a book he titled “Pinstripes and Reds”.

The sense I get it that some people are still trying to swim upstream in this trash river left to us by the terrible Obama+Clinton State Department. Never at any time have I thought Israel, our ally, has been served any way but poorly.

Since his views are at odds with US policy, resigning is the honorable thing do. The problem is that there are so many dishonorable people at every level of the government who also disagree with US laws and policies and are working hard to undermine them.
