Jim Jordan has been officially nominated as the Republican’s choice for Speaker, beating out Steve Scalise ally Austin Scott of Georgia. (X) It was not a massive margin, though. The total was 124-81.Cristina Laila previously reported that Jim Jordan entered the race for Speaker today. She also reported that Scott launched a last minute challenge to stop him.
Jordan will now face off against Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) provided he can garner enough support. The Hill notes this could prove a challenge, however.

Don't think the ramifications of the recall vote was thoroughly thought though. Once again, the republicans are shooting themselves in the foot. With all that's going on in the world - republicans, pull it together and act like one party.

I think the recall vote was absolutely the right thing to do. McCarthy was as RINO as they come. I hope Jordan wins this. Drastic changes need to be made in Washington and this could be a good start.

Getting rid of that squishy uniparty hack McCarthy was absolutely the right thing to do. Sometimes you are better off with nothing.
So what bad has happened since we've been speakerless? Pretty much nothing.

This hilites the problems with the Republican party. They don't want to provide an alternative to the Democrats. They don't want to lead. Why would I vote for this? When Trump became President, they hung him out to dry. How can they govern?

Certainly take it to the floor. Enough of this backroom nonsense. If there is a stalemate, then name a temporary Speaker, or have Scalise, the number 2 guy, act as Speaker, until a permanent Speaker can get the required votes. Time limits can be put in place for interim Speakers.

As #1 requests, I want the names of all the 55. It does not matter where they are. I will do whatever I can to remove them from office and replace them with a patriot that believes in our Constitution!

If Jordan loses to Hakeem Jeffries because Rino's would not vote for Jordan, i will break every speed limit in this country rushing down to the election board to get out of the Republican party.

Those 55 Rinos are playing a dangerous game. Clearly, they believe there will be no repercussions for their betrayal. The powers that be in Washington are hard at work to make sure that no MAGA supporter has any power. These 55 are voting for the status quo and especially at this time, we cannot have anymore fake Republicans whose only concern is protecting the same old process get their way. Americans are incensed by their smug arrogance. The country is being destroyed and these fools do not understand that we have one shot to pull this country back from the brink and that will not be done by clinging to the status quo. We deserve to know the names of these 55 because we are sick and tired of having the rug pulled out from under us. We can no longer afford to accept these contrarians. They must be exposed and purged from the party if we are to have any hope of restoring the country to any semblance of sanity.

The RINOs vote will be recorded when its time to pit Jordan against Jeffries.
That time is coming, and the RINOs are dreading it--
This will be a time of winnowing the sheep from the goats and they cannot have it on both sides when that happens. The days of 'business as usual' are GONE.
The BASE of the 'republican party' will be watching to see who will be loyal to the idea of stopping the invasion, stopping the spending, stopping the weaponization of the federal government through more and more regulations of the agencies and disrespect for the Rule of Law and for stopping the tyranny of Continuing Resolutions and Omnibus PORK. Things are so bad, nobody will lend U.S. money and printing more and more is ruining the purchasing power of dollars as we fight over 18%+ Bidenflation.
If so-called 'republicans' in name only vote for Hakeem Jeffries, we will know the fall of the Republic is imminent.
There is a reckoning that is is now at our doors.

Watch the Republicans vote themselves out of power. Even when they had it all, they claimed they didn’t have a mandate.

So when 20 conservatives stall McCarthy it's the worst crime in America, but when 50 republicans want to delay, reject, the new speaker to be nominated its just politics. yeah ...ok...

I keep reading about how this is a Republican problem.
If 9 Democrats had voted for McCarthy, this would never have happened. If 60 voted in favor of the current nominee, this would be over.
They're a problem....too.
