Harvard president Claudine Gay has condemned the 'barbaric atrocities perpetrated by Hamas' - but rejected calls to punish pro-Palestine groups who justified the attack that killed over 1,000 Israelis.
In her third statement since the attacks on Saturday, Gay posted a video message titled 'Our Choices' on Thursday to social media addressing calls for the Harvard students who blamed Israel for the horrific attack to be punished.
'People have asked me where we stand so let me be clear, our university rejects terrorism. That includes the barbaric atrocities perpetrated by Hamas. Our university rejects hate - hate of Jews, hate of Muslims, hate of any group of people

She is right not to punish them. It is good to recall this gives assurance she will not in future punish anyone who may wish to remark that trans women are men wearing dresses and talking nonsense.

It took 4 days for her PR staff to come up with that half baked drivel? Oh so brave to now condemn barbarian atrocities, while at the same time defending the barbarian sympathizers on campus.

Reminds me of a politician I once knew: "Some of my friends support that position; others oppose it. I support my friends."

I am from the old school, I thought that Harvard educated the bright and gifted students not the stupid and brain dead. Must have really lowered their admission standards since I was in school.

#1 is correct. Free speech should be available to all sides. Perhaps this affirmative action hire will remember that the next time the school tries to fire or harass a professor that says global warming is a hoax. I doubt it though..."free speech" is only allowed to one side these days.

If we only permit that speech we agree with then speech isn't really free. However, I as a potential employer am free to NOT hire you if you espouse ideas with which I disagree. These students were unbelievably naive to have signed on to anti-Israel statements. Who do they think controls many corporate entities - the Palestinians? Silence is golden - and it pays better.

#1 & #8 are way too optimistic. Harvard, under this woman will not enforce free speech for conservatives and those who are religious and don't support abortion, gays or trans. It will be called hate speech and not allowed. That is how Leftists operated.

I wonder what she'll say when no Harvard grads can get a job anywhere, their alma mater having been given the Bud Light treatment.
