On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), who served as Florida’s Director of Emergency Management from 2019 to 2021 and was appointed to the post by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), stated that DeSantis is “doing a good job on emergency management” and has invested “into building the greatest emergency management agency of any state in the State of Florida.”
Host Kaitlan Collins asked, “You’ve worked with Gov. DeSantis in previous disasters, in your previous role, including, obviously, hurricanes that hit Florida pretty regularly. What do you make of the job that he’s done so far?”
Moskowitz answered, “The Governor’s doing a good job on emergency management,

I’m not a DeSantis fan. But this tells me a couple of interesting things.
1) DeSantis seems to have excellent administrative and organizational skills. Certainly his handling of the aftermath of these storms gets high praise.
2) for a current Dem to acknowledge this seems to indicate DeSantis can work with the opposition — in a good way.
I’ll file this away for future reference.

This kind of thing is RDS at his best. He should stick to governing FL and drop out of this POTUS race this time around. Maybe later…

DeSantis would make a great president. But not this time, not now. I fear if he keeps up this quest, it will take him years to regain his well deserved reputation as a great manager. He needs more time to develop those management skills, people skills, political skills. But, he's the very best we've got on the bench.

I live in Florida and pay a lot of attention to politics. Ron DeSantis has been a great Governor and willl be a great President in 2028. I wish he would drop out now and wait. What he is not is a good campaigner, I don’t know why as he is personable in person but it’s a real thing and can’t be solved by all the advisors in the world. He needs to solve the problem himself by being himself. If the slight grumpy, no nonsense military persona is him then be that guy……..we could sure use his approach in this country.

#6, interesting that you would say DeSantis needs better management, political, and people skills – implying that he is inferior to Trump and all of those aspects. Yet somehow, in a large state virtually evenly divided in party registration, DeSantis has cemented conservative dominance, implemented the policies that conservatives want, showing superior political adroitness. He has also displayed superior degree of management skills, as amply demonstrated by the amazing hurricanes responses and rapid recovery, not to mention the schools are improving and the budget is ample on low taxes. Even his political opponents speak well of him.
If you want Don instead of Ron because Trump got a dirty deal from a corrupt Hydra-headed Deep State-Tech-MSM complex, just say so. It’s a position I can appreciate, even support. But it’s silly to assert DeSantis has nonexistent shortcomings in comparison to Trump, who had no political experience — and failed, and had copious management experience — and failed. Or that DeSantis lacks people skills, where even his political opponents speak well of him, while Trump is roundly loathed even by his own hires.

I agree,,,sanctimonious is a fine governor of Florida....and should remain in that position until he's old enough and seasoned enough to take on the presidency....he jumped the gun this time...and 2024 is not his time....even though the Washington rinos convinced him to try for it...he's managed to pi___off a lot of conservatives who will probably not forget his betrayal of our President Trump...

Solutions that actually WORK, gee what a concept.
Obviously Leftists have No Ability to solve a problem as their pea brains are so full of Marxist Crapola they can't think properly...Take Joey for instance, Steal Steal Steal, Lie Lie Lie...No solutions to anything!

I loved Reagan, and I liked Gerald Ford. No one thought Reagan was disloyal to President Ford to challenge him (unsuccessfully) in 1976. When did this personal loyalty above all other issues begin?

Great governor, best in my 23 years in FL. He needs to stay ready in case the Deep State takes Trump out legally or illegally (execution or assassination). He may be awkward on the campaign trail but he gets things done, is an honorable person, and will make a great President in 2024 or 2028.

Last year after hurricane Ian the news media and so called experts were saying Sanibel, Matlacha, and Pine Island were going to be inaccessible for a YEAR! And a system of ferries were going to have to be created. Desantis had Matlacha and Pine Island bridges opened in one week and Sanibel in two. What idiots the experts were. Honc construction announced that if the governor would get the red tape cut they could have the bridges open in just a few days. He did and before the news media and their experts could inhale another breath to make more dire predictions the bridges were open and I could start cleaning up my house. Desantis is a hero. A HERO!!

Jared, whom I know, is not stupid and he knows where his bread is buttered, Desantis, who is also not stupid, knew to "take Jared out" early in his political career and neutralize some of the Broward Democratic machine.
We see here it paying dividends.

Governor Ron DeSantis is the best governor in the country today with a list of great accomplishments. He and his staff have performed brilliantly in the hurricanes. He will make a great president. He will be 45 years old on September 14. In his forties, he's at that sweet spot in life, honing his skills, learning who he is and doing "graduate" work not only on his management skills, but political and social skills. In four years, he will be an extraordinary leader. But, he is not that leader yet.
Our country is being destroyed before our eyes and for its survival it must have extraordinary leadership in the next few years. Our country will need a leader with brass balls who has been tested over decades and can withstand the onslaught of the evil that has taken over this country and the globe. There's only one person that fits that bill, and it is Donald J. Trump, warts and all, stupid comments and name calling, and all.
He was an extraordinarily successful president in his embattled four year term. This guy has had more thrown at him in the last seven years than any other politician in our history and his spine has remained straight and strong.
But just as importantly, Trump will be a lame duck on January 20, 2025 should the 2024 election not be stolen from him and us again. As a lame duck, he will be in the political position to carry out the extraordinary decisions needed to fight all of the forces in the US and global deep state that are aligned against him and our country. Governor DeSantis, would not be in the in the same political position and at present, appears not to be capable of waging and winning the coming brutal and bare knuckles fight. We know this just by how he has under-performed in his presidential campaign and how he has caved to his financial backers.
However, as another poster has noted, if something God forbid happens to Trump, DeSantis absolutely should be our candidate. I hope he is mentally prepared and will find the strength, courage and discipline to deal with what will be asked of him and his family should he need to step in. And if elected, he will need God by his side every minute and he will need every person in this country that cares about our country's survival to help and support him. There will be no time for Never DeSantis-s.

Could it be possible that DeSantis might get more things straightened out in DC than Trump could? He might be much better at ignoring the pests and doing what needs to be done. Trump can’t seem to ignore the stupid remarks of the stupid liberals and would constantly be fighting them, therefore, nothing gets done. We know the Dems will try to stop everything he does.
