One group of buffoons who have come to be roundly reviled by both the Right and the Left are the loathsome climate activists who block roads, throw soup on artworks, interrupt events, and otherwise p*ss off just about everyone. These people really put the “mental” into environmental activism as they glue their hands to the pavement or slow-march in front of commuters, staring into space with their dead eyes and an inhuman detachment from the anger and antipathy they inspire. In today’s episode, smelly hippies from a group called Seven Circles set up a barrier

Me too #1. Of course I was also saying "Oh just run 'em over!!" when he stopped. Blocking roads is illegal and dangerous. Someone once told me that in much of Asia if you stand in the road or just walk out into the street unthinking, you will be hit. No one will blame the driver because everyone knows cars are bigger than people and people need to watch out for cars.. not the other way around. Common sense stuff. When we lived in Nashville, the number of bachelorette party members (Nashville is the bachelorette party capital of the world btw) that simply walked out into rush hour downtown traffic and expected I guess their sparkly cowboy boots, Daisy Dukes, and bedecked and bedazzled cowgirl hats to protect them was limitless. Through social programs and touchy feely bleeding heart nonsense, we have sadly prevented stupidity from winnowing out the herd. Is it any surprise the herd has gotten progressively stupider? And then we let these stupid people vote!

Important to understand that they were blocking access to Burning Man, the annual frolic in the desert attended by thousands of ex-hippies, freaks, weirdos, and various lost souls not far removed from the protesters themselves. Would law enforcement have done the same for folks impeded from attending a Trump rally?

My solution.... especially if they glue themselves to the road... Is to send a farmer through there with his tractor and manure spreader, spreading a fresh load of hog dung. It's non-violent.... and better yet- it's environmentally safe!

I watched the long video twice, then sent it to TK and watched it with him. I heard him play it again from my office! Its just one of those videos that gives such pleasure! TK pointed out that there were enough civilian men there at the beginning to have moved the trailer off to the side, if they had been more organized. Perhaps this video will give regular people the courage to confront these lunatics directly instead of waiting for the authorities. It is one thing to be a protestor against "The Man", making a scene to "raise awareness among the people"; but if "the people" become "aware" that you are the problem and not "The Man" then things are not going to go as planned. If these "environmental activists" want to raise awareness, they may not be raising the "awareness" they expect. Just sayin'. My favorite is the whiny gal on the left side of the road in the hat, "We're non-violent! We have no weapons! We're environmental activists!" As if that is some elevated station in life that provides immunity from all law breaking. Besides, her acting was really bad.

Cities, municipalities, counties and states typically cannot prevent protestors from protesting in an outdoors, public place. However, they can require that protestors: 1. Apply for a permit to conduct their protest; 2. Hold their protest in a public--not a private--site. 3. The protest must not be a roadway or thoroughfare, but in a place like a park or large plaza in front of a publicly-owned building. On some occasions, protesting or marching on a public thoroughfare is permitted for large groups, but they typically do so only on Saturdays or Sundays, with plenty of cops to work traffic. 4. The protest must be limited to a specific place, time, and duration of time. It is not open-ended. 5. A fee must be paid to allow for police supervision and protection of protestors and observers. 6. Etc. This is what annoyed me so much about all the stupid antifa-type protests two summers ago. They blocked roadways and destroyed nearby public and private property, yet the city judges or prosecutors let them off, dismissing their criminal cases. The cities, judges, prosecutors, and mayors did not enforce their own laws, to the detriment of their jurisdictions and residents.

One of the false narratives we hear over and over again from gun-control proponents on the left is that good guys with guns do not stop bad guys with guns, and we therefore need to ban “assault weapons.” I put that phrase in quotes because radical progressives don’t have a very specific definition of what constitutes such a class of firearm. That’s because the looser the parameters for what can be considered an assault weapon, the more guns they can fit into the category. Good guys can’t stop bad guys with guns in every situation. This is especially true when laws exist that prevent them from carrying weapons that could potentially

Jack Torrance, the raging alcoholic character in The Shining, screamed famously in the movie, “I’m back!” Another such character in the real-life horror movie called COVID-19, is the face mask. And like Jack Torrance, the mask is beginning to shout, “I’m back!” According to the CDC, COVID hospitalizations and deaths are creeping up a bit, but overall the numbers are low compared to a few years ago. There is also the issue of “with versus from” COVID. Someone hospitalized for back or heart surgery who tests positive for COVID will be counted a COVID hospitalization. This is vastly different from a patient with respiratory failure or pneumonia from COVID.

Rising crime has been a plague under the Biden regime, largely spurred by prosecutors who refuse to enforce the law, thereby incentivizing criminal activity. That's been especially true when it comes to so-called "smash and grab" robberies. Sometimes carried out with a group of thieves and other times done solo, the technique is to rush into a place of business and steal high-value items. Technology and jewelry stores have become prime targets. Nowhere is the problem worse than in California due to Prop 47, which reduces some felony thefts to misdemeanors. That has created an environment where criminals can steal at will, knowing that they will likely

Is Justin Trudeau the worst prime minister in history? The answer is, “Well, probably.” He’s a work in accelerated progress, though it must be said that he had immense help along the way: a compliant Parliament, an appointed Senate, a complicit Judiciary, and a bought-and-paid-for media have been loyally riding shotgun. Trudeau is perhaps the most disappointing, unctuous, and injurious prime minister ever to occupy the seat of power in Canada.

Two ubiquitous phrases in debates about policing and criminal-justice policy are “nonviolent crime” and “nonviolent offender.” Are these categorizations really useful? The best test of whether an offense or offender is truly nonviolent is to intervene and try to put a stop to a so-called low-level offense and see what reaction you get. It’s not hard to see how getting involved in many such scenarios could prove dangerous. Tragically, a recent case in San Francisco illustrates these dangers vividly. Five days after sustaining serious injuries, a San Francisco store clerk named Yowhannes “John” Tewelde has died. He was beaten with a baseball bat by a man

A new video documenting the growing number of high-profile stores in Beverly Hills that have closed recently, places renewed emphasis on the crisis facing the retail sector in most major cities. The video, posted by an account called cody90210, shows some 11 popular Beverly Hills retail stops now entirely shuttered, including the iconic former Barneys location, Brooks Brothers, All Saints, and the high-end women's fashion boutique Escada. Both Escada and Barneys filed for bankruptcy in recent years. The closed shops, which also include convenience retailers like Rite Aid and Chipotle, and even popular workout class option SoulCycle, have shuttered their doors on Wilshire Boulevard, leaving the area bereft of its former appeal.
