Oregon Democrats passed a law this year that could add more than 170,000 Medicaid recipients to state voter rolls – but it’s on hold until federal administrators act. The state’s two U.S. senators, Democrats Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, sent a letter Tuesday to Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, administrator of the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, asking for quick action on waivers for Oregon and other states that plan to automatically register eligible Medicaid recipients to vote.

Comments:

A fine example of ballot harvesting in a blue state.

Oh yeah…we’ll even make it easier for you. We’ll just vote for you. You won’t even have to leave home. Those democrats sure are a caring bunch.

The administrator of the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is named Chiquita Brooks-LaSure? We're in even more trouble than before. According to the website, she's a "former policy official who played a key role in guiding the [Affordable Care Act] through passage and implementation..." Pure democrat bureaucrat. You can bet that they'll get their quick action.

Why are our tax dollars going to Medicaid now going to support the Democrat party in states like Oregon? I understand that the Executive, Legislative and especially the Just-Us branches of goobernment could care less about spending our money. Still, shouldn't their be some limits? Where in the Constitution ( trough guided gooberning) allow our tax dollars to be used to register voters in selected states? And why do Medicaid beneficiaries get special privileges the rest of us don't receive?

Registering to vote is easy. Voter registration should never be automatic! If you want to vote, it should be the individuals responsibility to go to the appropriate place to register to vote. If you can make the effort to go apply for Medicaid, you can make the effort to register to vote. If that takes too much effort, maybe you aren't responsible enough to vote.

Why bother? Oregon is already almost 100 percent Democrat in its legislature and government employees. We folks in Eastern Oregon hate it but have to live with it.

More voters that won't vote, since they didn't care to register,. So, now the Dems will fraudulently vote for them.

This is why we are in the shape we are in today. Soulless democrat orcs are embedded into every bureaucratic agency and it is they who are moving the democrat agenda forward. These unelected Marxists have all the power they need thanks to a corrupt party who cheats and lies and their counterpoint feckless friends across the aisle who won’t move a finger to stop this. Our government is at war with its people.

Only people who plan to vote should be registered to vote. This is just a way to register potential voters who won't show up, leaving a viable name that can be put on a ballot that is supposedly theirs.

Republican lawmakers in Oregon are in hot water after they refused to partake in a historic vote Thursday to implement a cap-and-trade program to help rein in industrial carbon emissions. Gov. Kate Brown authorized the state police to round up the 12 Republicans who walked out of the Capitol in protest of the bill and bring them back to the Senate floor for a vote. If passed the measure will make Oregon the second state in the country after California to implement such a program. "It would have been historic for Oregon, historic for the country, and frankly historic for the world,

Americans could officially be urged to drink no more than two beers a week as part of strict new alcohol guidelines. Biden's health czar told DailyMail.com the USDA could revise its alcohol advice to match Canada's, where people are advised to have just two drinks per week. Dr George Koob — who admits enjoying a couple of glasses of Chardonnay a week — said he was watching Canada's 'big experiment' with interest. 'If there's health benefits, I think people will start to re-evaluate where we're at [in the US],' he told DailyMail.com.

It may be August of 2023, but the media still can’t quit COVID alarmism. The latest COVID freak out came on Wednesday’s CNN This Morning as the assembled cast wondered whether it was time to bring back masks. Co-host Poppy Harlow got things started by asking, “With COVID cases rising, some people are masking up. You have probably seen that in your neighborhood, work, etcetera. What does it mean for you and what does it mean for people at higher risk of severe illness?” She then introduced chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and asked, “I keep thinking this,

All eyes will be on Milwaukee tonight for the first Republican presidential primary debate. Despite more than eight years of brazen attacks on his opponents since riding down the golden escalator to announce his candidacy in 2015, Donald Trump has decided to sit out this debate. Unsurprisingly, the twice-impeached and now four-time indicted ex-president is, first and foremost, a swampy politician who won’t risk getting rhetorically pummeled by one of his challengers....As former Labor Secretary Robert Reich wrote in an essay last month, Bidenomics “is turning out to be the most successful set of economic policies the United States has witnessed in a half-century.”

The Obama family’s “beloved” personal chef, Tafari Campbell, died of accidental drowning while paddleboarding in a Martha’s Vineyard lake, an autopsy confirmed Tuesday. Campbell’s cause of death has officially been ruled to be “submersion in a body of water” — and his manner of death has been determined to be an accident, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Massachusetts. The results of Campbell’s autopsy have not been made public as per state policy, Timothy McGuirk, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, told the Washington Post.

A media report revealed that Biden administration officials welded border wall gates open near Lukeville, Arizona. The open gates allow migrants to freely walk through the border wall and into the Arizona desert. Border Patrol officials admitted responsibility for a decision to weld open flood gates in sections of border wall near Lukeville, the New York Post reported. The admission reportedly came after the agency attempted to blame other federal agencies for the action that allows thousands of migrants to freely cross into what is now the nation’s busiest border sector.

A summer surge of COVID-19 has some wondering aloud if we should return to mask mandates. For now, the official line, despite the media effort to rekindle coronavirus hysteria, is that it’s unlikely. But we heard that before, in 2020, right before public health officials dropped their mask tyranny on us. If they do it again, we have an obligation to say no. Are we calling for civil disobedience? Are we suggesting that Americans resist orders that are not laws but are instead decrees issued by despots? Absolutely, and without reservation. Masks are dehumanizing.

The case was heard by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice Divisional Court. The decision stated that the college had been receiving complaints about Peterson’s remarks since 2018. Those included formal complaints and those aired via Twitter. Many of the issues were regarding race, transgenderism, overpopulation, and COVID-19. Peterson was represented by the Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF), which stated that Peterson has maintained that his comments did not pertain to the practice of psychology. CNN climate reporter Bill Weir gushed over President Joe Biden’s remarks this week in Maui where he compared the worst fire the U.S. has experienced in over 100 years to a small kitchen fire at his home nearly two decades ago. The Maui wildfires earlier this month killed well over 100 people, with more than 1,000 still unaccounted for, and destroyed nearly 3,000 structures, according to state and local officials. “President and Dr. Biden spent several hours both over Lahaina on the ground here and meeting with both first responders and victims of this tragedy at the big shelter, the War Memorial shelter in central Maui,” Weir began.
