The co-owner of local newspaper the Marion County Record has died after being 'traumatized' by a police home raid that was green-lighted to seize information on a story that hadn't even been published.
Joan Meyer, 98, collapsed and died following the intense stress and grief she felt when her home was raided by the entirety of the Marion Police Department in Kansas.
The elderly woman, who co-owned the newspaper with her son Eric, was subjected to the raid by five officers and two sheriff's deputies on Friday - which caused her to be 'stressed beyond her limits and overwhelmed by

All this havoc over information given to the police by the newspaper, and never published? All of them should be fired, after they pay millions in civil damages.

Police always want respect, but in many cases they have no respect for citizens. Do they believe this is the way taxpayers who hire them wish them to do their job? Just wondering.

Corruption in low places.... What do you expect when the country looks at the games the left plays with the justice system. Corruption in high places.... A fish rots from the head.

You gotta be tough these days.
Especially when on the outs with those in power.
Ya gotta stay tough, no matter what.
Even if being loaded into boxcars headed for a "camp".
You weren't tough enough when elections were highjacked.
So now ya gotta be tough when the bills comes due.

RIP Joan, you didn't deserve this, and the instigators need some severe punishment for this. Hang your heads in shame Kansas cops, you terrorized an old lady to death. All to protect corruption.

Someone should give Kari Newell a lesson in vindictiveness so that she can recognize it next time...
So the Federal Bureau of Intimidation shoots an elderly, nearly housebound man to death.
And Marion KS terrorizes a really old lady to death. i guess the covid vaxx poison isn't working up to spec.

The judge and possibly the person responsible for bringing this to the judge to get the warrant should be sued - NOT the police department. If you sue the police department, the taxpayer pays, not the judge who signed off on the warrant.

Seven cops sent to ransack the house of a super senior citizen.
Look for the email from Merrick Garland to the cops.

GESTAPO? Of course it's Gestapo. Coming to a city near you as their power and fearlessness grows. Are you going to get used to it, or are YOU going to DO something about it? Will November, 2024 be America's last election?

The article makes no sense, what was the unpublished story about and who did it involve--I don't understand.

Let me try to understand this: The newspaper gets information about possible wrong doing, doesn't publish it, passes the info on to the police; and the police raid the newspaper and paper owners home? What happened to investigating the alleged criminal conduct by the restaurant? Since the newspaper notified the police of the information, couldn't they have just asked for the information instead of a raid on their home? They must have solved all of the other crimes in the county and had nothing else to do.

Sounds like a situation where the police should not get qualified immunity.

Yet again, we see law enforcement in our country happily using unnecessary gestapo tactics on our citizens. This is a dangerous and sickening trend. Who are these guys that won't say to their superiors, no, I will not take part in this action? In some ways it is even more disturbing to see this on a local, local level. At this point, no citizen is safe from a progressively out of control government, state, local or federal.
We always thought that our law enforcement professionals would draw a line and not be part of a totalitarian regime. I believed it to my bones. But, sadly, we see the "just following orders" tactics played over and over again. We are in a lot of trouble.

This is Kansas. Not exactly a lefty hotbed. Have to wonder about the political persuasion of those that green-lighted this thuggish behavior. At times, I think Democrat and Republican are the opposite sides of the same dirty coin and really aren't different at all.

Smells like the Cops were covering up wrongdoing by their Masters...Now I expect the Son to SUE the SchiffT out of the COPS individually (No real immunity for ILLEGAL actions), and the City for allowing it.
