LONDON (AP) — Environmentalists cautioned Britain’s main political parties on Sunday not to water down their climate change promises after a special election result widely seen as a thumbs-down from voters to a tax on polluting cars.
The governing Conservatives suffered two heavy defeats in a trio of by-elections for House of Commons seats on Thursday. But they managed to win the third contest, for a suburban London district, by focusing on a divisive green levy imposed by London’s Labour Party mayor.
The Ultra Low Emission Zone, or ULEZ, charges drivers of older gas and diesel vehicles 12.50 pounds ($16) a day to move around the city.

FTA: "U.K. greenhouse gas emissions have fallen by 46% from 1990 levels, mainly because of the almost complete removal of coal from electricity generation."
Would that be because of the ramp up of natural gas production from the North Sea ?
Yes, the article points out a very typical problem: the public becoming aware that politicians have sold them out or led them astray. But, the solution is simple: publicly punish said politicians, have a public mea culpa, get new politicians, and then get back to doing what they were doing before all the hubbub.

If you use stack scrubbers and baghouse filters, coal is very clean. The USA has enough coal to provide all our electricity for the next eight centuries. Add in nuclear power and it's probably good for 10 centuries or more.
But - no - the ecolunatics want us all freezing in the dark, begging in a charging line for a few more miles for the sad, short range EVs, filled with ecologically horrible batteries which both pollute massively (but in some faraway land) and don't work - plus catching fire all too often.
Even the disengaged sheep are starting to notice that "green means it is very expensive and doesn't work".

Maybe it's time they start to publish the actual formula being used by the government officials, and NGO's, that show the actual climate change?
Why are only Western countries "all-in" on this campaign?
Are the people in China, India, Russia and elsewhere all stupid, and just don't "get it"?
Or, do they know something we aren't being told?
Lastly, didn't the Paris Accords provide a target year of 2100 to meet the goals?
That is 77 years from now, why the rush to meet a goal that has 77 more years?

Imagine their surprise, the people do not want to be lied-to, overly taxed, pushed around and told what to do and how to live. Each major piece of this green new nonsense is coming apart.

Could it be that the sheep are starting to realize that their drovers are trying to drive them over a steep cliff?

When the motorists in England begin to run over the silly “Stop Oil” protesters that block their highways, maybe then I’ll believe they have gotten wise to the Climate Change Hoax

FTA: "The governing Conservatives"
In Old Blimey - - being "conservative" means being one-half degree to the right of the communists. Ever since the magnificent Margaret Thatcher was forced out by her own "conservative" party - - there are no real conservatives over there - - just a bunch of leftist euroweenies.
But - - they do have some beautiful horse racing tracks.

The most difficult thing about all the information WE are getting is the swamp is so committed to providing money for their green activities that they are not waking up to the fact that Americans have had enough...and Kerry needs to retire from his self appointed position as energy czar...he didn't win the White House years ago because WE figured him out and cast him aside...therefore washington elite decided to get him a job with lots of power and money...well hey...you're done...step aside...fly off in your private jet and retire along with obama/biden and fauci...and their ilk.....

Even the dimmest of dimbulb governments, one of which is the United States, must soon wake up to the reality that green dreams of all-electric living are beyond our technology and capabilities at the moment. Only nuclear will be able to keep the country moving if gas, coal and oil are put on the banished fuel list and I don't see any new plants going up. Most people have to drive to work every day, except for Brandon who sleeps in his office, and nobody wants to spend time sitting in line at a charging station. Somebody needs to pay John Kerry a visit, not on his yacht but under it.
