House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) came to Trump’s defense over reports that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has been weighing potential charges against the former president for his alleged conduct during the January 6, 2021 riot on Capitol Hill. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the U.S. House Speaker said he does not see any reason for the former president to be found criminally responsible for January 6. “I don’t see how he could be found criminally responsible,” McCarthy said. “What criminal activity did he do? He told people to be peaceful.” This past Sunday, the former president revealed on Truth Social that he would have to appear before a grand jury this week

No # 1, McC is just running out the clock until 2026 when his current term expires. And a good thing too, because if he were to quit or drop dead tomorrow Kentucky's Democrat governor would pick his successor.

Kind of off topic, but can you imagine for a moment being in President Trump’s shoes? The mental anguish alone would break most men. Yet, Trump remains strong and positive. I don’t believe many of us could manage to keep going on. Democrats unhinged obsession with DJT’s destruction is without precedent. If they could, they would draw and quarter him on the Capitol steps. His only crime being his willingness to reveal to the world the complete depraved corruption that has permeated Washington DC in both parties. He has made a promise to the country to Make America Great Again and that is antithetical to their Marxists little psyches. Therefore, he must be annihilated. Whatever people believe about DJT they know he is no quitter and will fight to the last breath. God bless him! Republicans should wake up to the fact that anyone who will not comply with their depraved agenda will be treated similarly going forward. Democrats always need a bogeyman and they have created in their minds that PDT is that guy. My disdain is for all those Republicans who refuse to see that if democrats succeed in this evil mission they are on, it is just the beginning. They must create an example of what happens when you refuse to bow to their lawlessness, and Trump is the guy for now. Believe me, they will use the same tactic again on any opposition that refuses to comply since this horrifying malicious prosecution strategy is their ticket to complete control of every single one of us.

Donald Trump’s favorability among Republican and Republican-leaning voters has fallen from 75 percent in July 2022 to 66 percent in July 2023, according to a new Pew poll. Conversely, while only 24 percent of Republican voters surveyed thought of Trump unfavorably in July 2022, that is now up to 32 percent in the latest poll. Among the broader voting public, the former president’s unfavorability has remained largely stable. Whereas 60 percent of Americans did not hold a strong opinion of him in July 2022, today, that is only 63 percent following his legal woes. Trump’s favorability ratings place him in a similar league with President Joe Biden, who went from 43

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) made headlines this week for telling CNN's Jake Tapper, “Not everyone really knows what wokeness is. I’ve defined it, but a lot of people who rail against wokeness can’t even define it.” In reaction, the New Republic asserted , “The Florida governor slips up in his ‘anti-woke’ quest.” (Can’t you just sense the writer villainously rubbing his hands together over his keyboard?) Far from being a “slip-up,” however, DeSantis’s observation identifies a key tenet of wokeness and a reason the movement has been so effective. The term “woke” and the terminology woke masterminds use are intentionally vague.

Today’s Wall Street Journal has a heartwarming article on DEI: “The Rise and Fall of the Chief Diversity Officer.” Two years ago chief diversity officers were some of the hottest hires into executive ranks. Now, they increasingly feel left out in the cold. Companies including Netflix, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery have recently said that high-profile diversity, equity and inclusion executives will be leaving their jobs. Thousands of diversity-focused workers have been laid off since last year, and some companies are scaling back racial justice commitments. This is great news. It is driven, the Journal says, by the tech sector’s “shakeout” last fall

A federal judge in Florida scheduled Donald Trump's trial in the classified documents case to begin May 20 − amid the presidential campaign − splitting the difference between prosecutors, who wanted to start in December, and the former president's lawyers, who sought to postpone until after the 2024 election. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon ruled that a December start would be too soon for Trump and his lawyers to review "exceedingly voluminous" evidence, including 340 classified documents totaling 1,545 pages in the case. "The Court finds that the interests of justice served by this continuance outweigh the best interest of the public and Defendants in a speedy trial," Cannon wrote. "Nevertheless

Ziegler also testified that interviews of Hunter Biden’s adult children were also placed off limits. Other damning allegations include Hunter Biden’s legal team being tipped off to searches and U.S. Attornies in districts outside of Delaware refusing to allow well-evidenced prosecutions.

The release Thursday of an FBI “FD-1023” document detailing allegations of bribery against President Joe Biden boosts the case for opening an impeachment inquiry into the president. The FD-1023 suggests that a Ukrainian businessman from the Burisma energy company allegedly paid Joe Biden through shell companies, and hired his son, Hunter Biden, in an effort to help remove a prosecutor who was investigating the company. The FD-1023 also contains allegations that Joe and Hunter Biden were each paid $5 million to make sure that prosecutor Viktor Shokin was fired, apparently because Burisma wanted to list itself on U.S. stock markets and could not be under investigation
