‘People of Color’ and ‘2SLGBITQIA+’:
Using Language to Enforce Subordination

Recently, Arizona Republican Eli Crane was rebuked for referring to “people of color” as “colored people.” That’s a controversy which would, at any other time in the history of the English language, be incomprehensible to a sensible reader. After all, there’s no practical difference in the phrases. In fact, the choice to give preference to the phrase “people of color” is worse than practically useless to an English speaker -- it’s needlessly more burdensome to both the talker and the listener. Consider this formula with any other trait. Would you refer to yourself as a “person of dark hair,” or a “dark-haired person?”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Castreau is slavishly precise in his enunciation of politicized acronyms. Fidel's son would never misgender anyone, or violate left fringe pre-Elon Musk Twitter standards--never! FTA: "...Last month, Chris Kenny of Australia’s Sky News marveled at Trudeau’s invention of new virtue signaling letters for the LGBTQ+ movement ... “Talk about virtue signaling,” Kenny says. 'I’ve got to admire his articulation here, his vocal dexterity, as he rattles off the latest combination of letters and numbers.' The segment cuts to Trudeau, speaking very effeminately, but with absolute precision, to include individuals claiming the peculiar “two-spirit” identity ...." "(S)peaking very effeminately...." You can say that again. What sex does Justin claim to be? He's not a man like his communist father was.

This has been one of my thoughts for a long time. I was brought up calling what are called blacks today colored people. Then the People of Color didn't like that they wanted to be called black, now they want to be called people of color. I wish they would make up their minds what they want to be called. I know what they call themselves, but that is a no-no.

Fredrick Douglass and MLK freely used the word negro. Should they be rebuked? The intent is the key. But the Left's precise argument is that even if your intent isn't derogatory, it is still racist because it offends someone. Well. this attitude offends me. What about my sensibilities??

Same as #10, I grew up in the Deep South. The polite designation was “colored person”. We were forbidden to use the “N” word. It was considered impolite and a word used by low class or ignorant whites. I would occasionally overhear black people using it among themselves, usually in a derogatory fashion. “People of color “ is a pretentious, virtue-signaling phrase used by the clueless left trying to follow the latest woke language.

Been reading Walter Scott and struck by how similar his Covenanters are to the American Left and his royalists to another US faction.... The grievance that has truth in it, the rigidity, partisanship and cruelty of the party that emerged. The ideological tests, the silliness, the very real suffering on both sides. In late June, New York City announced plans to implement its new “Skip the Stuff” bill, which aims to reduce plastic use by fining restaurants and delivery services handing out unsolicited plastic items like ketchup and cutlery. Food vendors and delivery services have a moment to adapt. Actual fines won’t start being handed out until July of 2024, and until then, violators will only receive warnings, Bloomberg reports.

Jennifer Rubin is a left-wing columnist for the Washington Post. So, naturally, she hates Ron DeSantis. On Friday, she published a column arguing that DeSantis’s conservative policies endanger Florida’s economy. The headline was, “Florida might pay for MAGA cruelty and know-nothingism.” Just another objective day at the office at WaPo! Unfortunately, her entire column was based on a grotesque factual error. [Tweet] The centerpiece of Rubin’s piece was this absurd claim: DeSantis likes to brag that more people are moving to Florida than ever. Not so fast. ‘An estimated 674,740 people reported that their permanent address changed from Florida to another state in 2021.’ That’s more than any other state,

There is so much wrong with America’s cities, it’s hard to see why any contributing member of society would live and/or work in one of them. Some of the issues arise from far-Left local governance while others are generated by more widespread Leftist policy. These are coupled with an organic workforce evolution, as the United States transitions from an industry-based to an information-based economy. The result is urban areas caught in a downward spiral — and, as with any sinking vessel, threatening to suck everyone nearby down with them. First, a quick refresher on the compounding problems of urban areas. Chief among them is that big cities

Look, you can call it a mistake if you want — I have no doubt the fact-checkers are working overtime to make it clear it was a “gaffe” — but Kamala Harris did say it. I’m honestly not sure if it was a Freudian slip or just a case of saying the quiet part out loud. But during a speech on climate change on Friday, the nation’s historically unpopular vice president said we need to “reduce population.” “When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breath clean air and drink clean water,” Harris said during her speech in Maryland.

The Left is big on de-escalation of conflict. They insist on talk rather than action to address rioting, theft, and even violent assault. The one place where they will not use it is in politics. De-escalation of political conflict would require them to do something they are loath to -- debate ideas. The left is instead attacking our right to speech. Try disagreeing with any element of leftist orthodoxy and see what happens. Challenging any of their core positions will not be met with robust debate, but with insults, cancellation, and even physical attack. Challenge them on: Climate change -- you’re a denier. Trans grooming of children -- you’re a homophobe. Affirmative action

Before we get to that, let’s remember how we got here. It took only moments for the Democrat media complex to anoint the January 6 breach and riot at the U.S. Capitol Building an “insurrection.” As if beckoned by an unseen force, narrative builders dutifully lined up to receive the official wafer on their tongues, and voilà! “Trump supporters” who had never committed an act of violence at years of peaceful and crowded rallies were eligible for a 20-year prison stretch.
