See Archbishop Vigano’s message below: The Church is going through a very serious crisis, mirroring that of civil governments: those who hold positions of power have shown themselves to be enemies of the institution they oversee and of the people over whom they exercise their authority. This subversive action leads those who are not willing to accept the betrayal to become the object of persecution: just as the doctors who chose to treat patients during the pandemic lost their licenses and were deprived of their salary, so the priests and religious who they do not adapt to the Bergoglian revolution are being removed from churches,

“Exsurge Domine” was the title of Leo X’s bull condemning Martin Luther (1520).

Any bets as to how long Vigano is allowed to remain in the Church.
Or alive...

One thing is certain the Catholic Church is in trouble.
Many Catholics are leaving.
Many of us older Catholics are unhappy but still hanging around, but even some of us are leaving.
The problem as I see it. Bad leadership, from the Pope on down.
Anf the fact that what was so well hidden in the past is now open to view.

#4, I left. I’ve had issues with this pope since the beginning but when the Church cancelled Easter in 2020, it was the last straw.

#2~ Yes, and on December 10, 1520, the University of Wittenberg responded by burning truly heretical books just outside the city gate and, in the middle of the burning, Martin Luther came up and threw in his copy of Leo X’s bull. This action meant that Martin Luther and his friends “parted company with the Pope and all those loyal to him.” Then Martin Luther and professors returned to the university but students “organized a funeral for the canon law, complete with songs.”
#3~ Many Lutherans who respect and appreciate Archbishop Viganò are praying for his safety.
Sadly and tragically, Martin Luther has been so maligned that individuals leaving the Catholic Church refuse to consider a Lutheran Church as a possibility to serve their spiritual needs. By attending a Lutheran worship service, Catholics may be surprised at how similar the liturgy is to a Catholic mass. An elderly Lutheran pastor said, “Judeo-Christian are like different flowers, each with its own fragrance to One God.”

I hear you, #6, and I appreciate your perspective, however, one of the best things about being Catholic is being able to receive the body and blood of Christ at every mass. No other Christian religion does that. It’s the main reason that I remain a Catholic.

Abp. Vigano's statement is worth reading. Not the political media analysis, though.

#7,#9, #10~ Simply as informational, numerous LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) Churches offer the Sacrament of the Altar (Communion) every Sunday. Lutherans believe that “Christ’s body and blood are truly present in the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper.”

#11 - The important distinction with the Catholic Eucharist is the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ is Present as long as the Host is in existence. That is why He must be reserved within a locked tabernacle with an ever-burning Sanctuary light denoting His Presence. We also have Eucharistic Adoration outside of Mass. Catholics often makes "visits" to the Blessed Sacrament at any time during the day, if the church is open - which is sadly less often these days.
As I understand your past explanations, Lutherans believe the "presence" of Christ is there for the recipients during the Communion Service, however afterwards the hosts are just bread again. Then they are treated reverently and consumed by the minister or other church people, but they are no longer considered Christ's body and blood. I concur with #7&9, and every true believing Catholic; the only place to find the True Presence is at Catholic, Orthodox or doctrinaly affiliated Churches. There just is no substitute for the True Flesh and Blood of Christ.
Yes, the Catholic Church is riddled with corruption and apostasy, which is nothing new in its two-thousand year history. The Lutheran Church has its own apostasy wings, as do the Methodists and Baptists. We all see the "signs of the times" shown to us in Holy Scripture, and know that we are living in evil times where it appears Satan is ascending. I'm a cradle Catholic who fell away. I tried many other ways of spiritual fulfillment, including Protestant Christianity. Then through a series of events beginning with my mother's sudden death, an unexpected trip to Mexico City with a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, followed by a mystical experience at the funeral Mass of my best friend's Grandmother where I was "God-smacked" into the Truth of His Real Presence. That is the only Truth that matters to me. The earthly church is corrupt, okay, there's nothing new in that in the last 2,000 years. None of that earthly corruption has ever touched the Truth of the Sacraments. That was Christ's promise; The Gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church. I believe Him.
P.S. #11 - Thank you for posting this message from Archbishop Vigano, and being a sweet Sister in Christ. God bless.

#12~ Please know that Posts 6 and 11 were offered simply as informational for Catholics seriously considering leaving the Catholic Church; the LCMS and WELS Lutheran Churches are closely related to Catholicism and might provide a level of comfort that may not exist in other Protestant denominations, especially with Holy Communion where belief in the body and blood of our Lord may be symbolic rather than real presence. Our LCMS church has received Catholics as members as well as guest participants at the altar for Holy Communion.
For Catholics choosing to believe “the ONLY place to find the True Presence is at Catholic, Orthodox or doctrinally affiliated Churches. There is no substitute for the True Flesh and Blood of Christ.” they are exercising the gift of God’s “free will” for mankind. That said, with all due respect, LCMS Lutherans believe that Christ’s body and blood are truly PRESENT in the earthly elements of the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper but do not believe in transubstantiation. (1 Corinthians 11:26-27)
Again, with all due respect, considering the Roman Catholic Church’s belief in transubstantiation, the question of whether or not the purity of God would permit sinful mortals the power to turn earthly elements of bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus, to touch the body and blood of Jesus in administering Holy Communion to church members is appropriate. Scripture provides an account of God striking Uzzah dead for having put his hand out to steady the ark of God when the oxen stumbled and Uzzah died beside the ark. (2 Samuel 6:6-7)
Without question many churches have fallen into corruption and apostasy and the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is an absolute shameful example of hard-core liberals profaning Scripture and Lutheranism. Apostasy has become pervasive and Scripture warns of "end time" evil times and lawlessness:
“Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,” (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
Indeed, as Jesus said, the “gates of hell” shall not prevail against the Church. We believe and are profoundly grateful for His promise and protection.
Blessings and Judeo-Christian love, sister’s in Christ.

#13 Oops! ~ A senior moment! Regarding transubstantiation, considering that Jesus was alive when He instituted the Eucharist, the Apostles were receiving the earthly elements of bread and wine which affirms their belief in the Lord as the Son of God when he said, “Take, eat; this is My body, which is given for you. This do in remembrance of Me.” In the same way also He took the cup after supper, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you; this cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” Because Jesus was alive, might that mean “ingestion” of the earthly elements is a consideration or a necessity to the “transformation” of the earthly elements into the body and blood of Jesus? A mystery.

#13 "LCMS Lutherans believe that Christ’s body and blood are truly PRESENT in the earthly elements of the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper but do not believe in transubstantiation."
Thank you for your explanation. I think I understand now. But Christ being "PRESENT in earthly elements", only for the Communion service, is greatly different than Christ's "TRUE PRESENCE overcoming/transforming those earthly elements" forever. From the beginning, the Church Fathers' belief was that the Presence of Christ remained in consecrated Hosts until they were consumed, or reserved in a tabernacle until they naturally decayed. I have shared with you evidence of Eucharistic Miracles, the earliest in existence being from the 8th century - long before St. Thomas Aquinas formulated the theological definition of transubstantiation, only to give words attempting to explain the reality already presented and lived for ten centuries. Our God is an Awesome God, and He wants to share His Body and His Blood with His Faithful people. He will do it any way He wants...even using sinful man to do it.
Prior to the Last Supper Jesus taught, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world" (John 6: 51) The Jews quarreled and questioned how this could be so. Jesus answered them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him." (John 6: 52-56) [The word used in the ancient text for "eat" here really means to "gnaw".] Jesus did not mention anything about being "present" inside earthly elements. He said that His disciples would gnaw His flesh. It was true food. Not a symbol. Not something "present in earthly elements". Not something transitory, but REAL flesh.
Many disciples said this was a hard teaching and could not accept it; they walked away. So many walked away that Jesus even questions the Apostles as to whether or not they also want to walk away from Him. It is here that Peter makes his great testament of faith, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and are convinced you are the Holy One of God."
St. Paul in 1Corinthians 27-32 discusses the importance of understanding the Presence of Christ in Holy Communion. "Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord." If the consecrated Host was merely Christ PRESENT in the earthly elements during the Communion service, why would St. Paul admonish the faithful that they are answerable for the body and blood of the Lord? Early Christians were put to death for defending the Eucharist against charges they were cannibals.
As the great Catholic writer Flannery O'Connor famously said about Holy Communion, "If its just a symbol, then the Hell with it!"
Peace be with you. Happy 4th of July.

#15~ Being quite along in years, comprehension and articulation have diminished so apologize for not being clear in explanation or thought and will try to be more explicit.
~ The true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ is under the bread and wine after it is consecrated by a LCMS pastor.
~ As St. Paul wrote, “...those who eat this bread and drink this cup are also partaking of the true body and blood of Christ.”
~ Scripture does not reveal whether Christ’s body and blood are still present in the bread and wine after Communion but what remains is treated with greatest reverence by the LCMS.
~ 1 Corinthians 11:27-32 / At the time St. Paul admonished the Corinthians, meals that included worship took place in homes, “likely larger homes of wealthier members of the community.” The formal dining area of a home was limited in size so the Roman host would honor his friends in this room and share the best food while others were “forced to eat elsewhere, likely in the atrium.” In doing this, social distinctions were “wrongly observed in the congregation. This contradicted the purpose of the Lord’s Supper: to offer the forgiveness of sins, which creates unity with Christ and unity with one another. The Corinthians were using the meal to create divisions, rejecting the very forgiveness offered in the Sacrament.” They did not discern the “body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ under the bread and wine; the desire for the 'forgiveness of sins, life and salvation' offered in the Sacrament; a desire to 'end the human divisions that destroy the unity of the Body of Christ created through the Sacrament.'" “Not everyone in Corinth was condemned—only those who did not discern the body and so came under God’s judgment.”
~ “Even using sinful man.” / Without question, this is true; however, the possible exception may be using men or women with sexual perversions because Scripture is very clear about homosexuality to the point of addressing it not only in the Old and New Testaments, but also in the last book of Scripture as “the sexually immoral”. (Revelation 22:14-15) Tragically and horrifically, sexual perversions have crept into mainline Christian churches which brings to mind a quotation from Martin Luther: “For where God built a church, there the Devil would also build a chapel.”
Cannot resist sharing a playful quotation from Martin Luther: “Whoever drinks beer, he is quick to sleep; whoever sleeps long, does not sin; whoever does not sin, enters Heaven! Thus, let us drink beer!”
Self-imposing censoring to not exceed the rules of this deeply appreciated salon. Extending peace and blessings. Indeed, sisters in Christ.

These individuals being removed are being left without any means of support. Archbishop Viganò has personally founded Exsurge Domine (Arise, O Lord) for the social purpose of providing individuals in “particular economic and logistical difficulties,” defend the Catholic Faith, heritage of Christianity, and opportunities “within the perennial Tradition of the Catholic Church.” Exsurge Domine will become a foundation, is currently operating at an international level, and welcomes anyone who shares those aims and “can contribute as a supporter.” He writes that only holy priests faithful to the Gospel and love Christ will rebuild tomorrow but, beginning today, “that which we have allowed to be demolished for too long.”
