Donald Trump on Monday night claimed new audio of him discussing and showing off a classified document about potential military action in Iran 'exonerated' him, adding that the special counsel was 'deranged'.
CNN released Monday evening the two-minute recording of the former president's 2021 meeting in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he talked about the documents he did not declassify before leaving office but took with him anyway.
The conversation has become crucial in special counsel Jack Smith's indictment of Trump.

How many times has Trump been burned by blabbing to a writer working on a book? I’ve lost count. Trump should have known that every move he makes will be used against him. Yammering about and waving around a top secret document that he didn’t declassify is an unforced error.
I doubt that Trump had the actual document in his hand during the interview. I wonder whether the document even exists. Trump’s judgment is, as always, something I worry about.
I long for the Trump of 2015/2016 who campaigned so spectacularly for the American people. I’m not so keen on Trump 2023 who spends all his time litigating the past and trying to spin the problems he has brought upon himself.

Plenary Power - Complete power over a particular area with no limitations.
This term is often used to describe the Commerce Power of Congress.
This is the power in the matter of classified item.
Not just documents.
Plenary Power is absolute.
It cannot be diminished, or circumscribed by act of congress, or judicial edict.
Nor by any middle level bureaucrat in the basement of the National Archive.
Plenary Power - invested in a single man.
The equal to the entire congress, and to the supreme court combined.
Like it or not, that's the system...
If you want to change it, you have to change the constitution.

Re #2
PDT brought these "problems, as you put it, upon himself by running for president in 2016. Everything negative about him has been manufactured by the Left, spread by their willing slaves in the MSM, weaponized by a hostile-to-We-The-People DOJ, and all the other left appointed judges, IRS employees, FBI employees, all the authoritarians who believe that We The People aren't smart enough to have the power to vote. Its PDT vs The Swamp, and if nothing else, we should be GLAD that it took someone like PDT to make the Swamp expose themselves for the power-mad commissar wanna-be's they are.

If it takes blabbing, yammering, and fight, keep it coming. The media's certainly not going to carry water for PDJT.
Four years of promises made, promises kept; to be repeated is what gives the left the willies and why they LIE.

Let's stop with the histrionics. There's nothing damning about the audio that someone leaked to CNN. There's no mention of what specific classified documents in the audio that Trump is allegedly talking about. The audio itself is inadmissible as evidence because of the reason cited above. Jack Smith (actually Weissman) knows this. This is just a standard tactic of Lawfare; not to advance their criminal case but to sway public opinion. It's very doubtful this particular criminal complaint will even go to trial. The PRA is the fatal flaw in the prosecution's case.

Oh yeh …Smith ..the docs were so secret Trump told the person writing his book…the docs were newspaper clippings ..
Smith appears to be desperate! Why didn’t he include this as part of his filings against Trump?? No wonder Smith lost 7 to zero Supreme Court cases against Edwards & McDonald!

DM is hateful of Trump and willfully ignorant of the fact that any President can use, disclose, destroy, or otherwise to anything whatsoever that he chooses with ANY document regardless of markings put on by lower officials. He is the penultimate authority, and no opinions of any other person have any impact whatsoever on his authority.
ANY document that he chooses to retain or disclose to anyone is perfectly within his authority.
Drop dead you ignorant Brits.

I agree that the document case against Trump is garbage since the president is the sole office holder who does have the constitutional authority to classify/declassify documents at will. Jack Smith will fail in his attempt to imprison Trump.
The real purpose of this persecution is to drive down Trump’s numbers with the independents. So far that is working and Trump is doing nothing to turn that around. If Biden wins in 2024 I won’t derive consolation knowing that the legal cases against Trump had no merit.

Trump also talked about the other papers, clothes, and items in boxes that were packed for him. In many cases, he was going through the boxes to find out what was in them only to find government documents mixed in with his personal belongings. Government Services packed his boxes, not Trump. The archives refused to assist with transition services. All of this is always conveniently left out of media reporting. For all we know, Trump was waving around old newspaper clippings. This was an audio recording, not video so it shows no law being broken. Just an ex president discussing classified documents packed by government workers mixed with his personal things.
