Washington— More than $200 billion may have been stolen from two large COVID-19 relief initiatives, according to new estimates from a federal watchdog investigating federally funded programs that helped small businesses survive the worst public health crisis in more than a hundred years. The numbers issued Tuesday by the U.S. Small Business Administration inspector general are much greater than the office’s previous projections and underscore how vulnerable the Paycheck Protection and COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan programs were to fraudsters, particularly during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic. The inspector general’s report said “at least 17 percent of all COVID-EIDL and PPP funds were disbursed to potentially fraudulent actors.”

Covid 19 was not, is not, the worst public health problem in American history. I submit that the 1919 Swine Flu that killed ten times more Americans was worse. Also, the polio outbreaks that destroyed the lives of so many kids and young adults was far more problematic. The government used this bug to consolidate power and terrify those who are too ignorant or stupid to recognize it.

My three grandsons not only lost money, they had to be vax'd and continue working around non-vax'd people. Only the elderly were targeted with the first China virus. Next time, they'll aim for the kids. Like the ''L''etter people, they'll come for the children.

Well, JAIL TIME might just juggle their memory as to where the money is and how they can get it back. The American people are sick and tired of the Government telling us about lost money, yawning and saying "oh well, it's gone, nothing we can do about it". Bull! Go get it back!! Perhaps #4 but the PPP was developed by the Trump Administration (yes in response to governors shutting down their sates) in particular, this was Larry Kudlow's baby and he never really has been asked about the structural weaknesses in the program he designed. Might this (at least partially) explain why there are so many job openings across the country, and no one wants to work? If you have a "cash stash" that came from this stolen $, it could help make a nice life. Let's say 5 million people got an equal piece of that govt pie of $200 billion, that's $40K per head. Couple that with a little internet business started during COVID, plus working "off the grid" for cash, that's not bad. Not bad at all.

The Chinese government propaganda newspaper Global Times dramatically predicted a “total collapse of the box office” for Hollywood in the near future as a result of its movies’ “repetitive” plots and “dated” American values. The latest death knell for the life of the American film industry in the eyes of the Global Times was the dismal theater debut of the fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The film, starring 80-year-old Harrison Ford still in the titular role, debuted in both America and China this weekend. The Chinese Communist Party bans most American movies from being featured in Chinese theaters, so studios often

The first GOP debate stage might not produce the dramatic scene originally expected as a growing number of candidates could opt to skip out – while others are struggling to meet the requirements to land on stage. With just two months to go, there are 15 candidates vying for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 – and only one-third of the field has met the requirements so far to debate in August. Longshot candidates remain at risk of not qualifying in time to reach the debate stage, while some of the frontrunners are threatening to boycott due to restrictions and rules set by the Republican National Committee (RNC).
