Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) said Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that it would be a “disaster” if the Republican Party nominated former President Donald Trump in 2024 and “dangerous” if he wins, which would be possible.
Discussing Trump Tuesday night at the Aspen Ideas Festival, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said, “It’s really important for Democrats to take him seriously. There can be a tendency for people on the Democratic side to say, ‘Well, look, sure, the Republicans will nominee hm the Republicans are a mess but we’ll be able to beat him in a general. And that is playing with fire. It’s a risk we can’t take.

Why is he saying "we"?
He's proven his Marxist-leftist swamp credentials extensively; does he still think he's a conservative republican?

It looks like they are referring to "winning" the GOP nomination but losing the general, but there is no doubt in my mind that they would want him to lose the general as well.
I loathe Ryan and Cheney more than I do liberal Democrats.

Once upon a time, I had high hopes for Paul Ryan.
I have my reasons for preferring someone other than Trump, but not because I think he's a threat to democracy. I just believe that his chances of winning the general are low. But hey, what do I know. I assumed that Hillary would win in 16 and believed Trump would win in a landslide in 20 and I expected to pick up 50 house seats in 22.

Hey, Eddie, Americans are engaged in the despicable state of politics and politicians today. We realize that the country is being destroyed from within because of people like you. Far too many self-serving public servants in Washington are enemies of the American people. Biden I am sure is just one of many who have sold out the country for personal gain. Consider how long he has been at it and the evidence now being revealed and I still doubt anything appropriate will be done to make him an example of the complete corruption of the political class. Democrats are lawless because men like you would rather go after the guy who actually wants to hold these criminals accountable while you and your ilk stand by why he is maliciously persecuted and do nothing. Worse yet, you stonewalled every good thing he was trying to accomplish for the American people when he was in office.
You are the problem. It is you and your little smug GOPe traitors who have betrayed not only your party but this country. You know the game that is being played in Washington. You know the corruption is rampant. And yet, President Trump is the threat?! There are men who should never be in positions of power and you are one of them. You are an untrustworthy, self-serving tool of those who want the status quo of the deep state to continue regardless of harm it is doing to the country. Your opinion means nothing. How could it when you have betrayed the country and the American people by choosing to remain committed to a system that is thoroughly corrupt. Americans are done voting for the people who will lie to us and continue to put their best interests above the American people. Go away you little pipsqueak, you and your fellow globalists are the problem and Americans know President Trump is the solution.

And this RINO once ran as the VP nominee on the Republican ticket. He now is on the board of Fox News where he enforces their tilt to the left. While he was speaker of the house, he obstructed efforts to implement President Trump's agenda.

Well, Paul, when Trump was president, we non-Washington insiders who live in the hither lands of this country had it very good. I can only judge him from my standpoint. If you are anti-Trump because he is upsetting the Washington political elite/status quo swamp, for which you obviously identify, all I can say is GOOD! That is exactly what we need. I will support the nominee, whomever it may be. You have turned out to be a weak Rhino, sad to say. You had so much potential when you were in office. This is not the time for a weak Rhino Republican puppet to be in office. With the corrupt Clintons, Biden Family Mafia, corrupt DOJ, FBI, and IRS, it is no time for a weak Republican to be in office! Yes, Trump can be crude, but I think Truman and Grant were too. It is nothing new in our history or with men in power throughout history. Paul, sometimes you have to be a calm level headed adult, ignore the manner in which something is done or said, and look at the final meaning and outcome! Paul, it is time to put your big boy pants on!

I recall, years ago, Paul Ryan talked a good game about cutting Federal spending and balancing the budget.
That was a long time ago.
Then he was elected Speaker, although he said he really didn't want it, but it seemed that none of the other Pubbies wanted it either.
Then Donald Trump became President.
Somewhere in there Paul Ryan did an apparent 180-degree turn, left the Good Guys and became a RINO or a DIRD (Democrat In Republican Disguise), part of the UniParty that is working to destroy America.
His opposition to pretty much everything that President Trump was trying to do reduced what President Trump was able to accomplish by a significant amount.
As far as I am concerned, he can take a Long Walk off a Short Pier!
