How thoughtful these soldiers were. Cue the music: "God Bless America" by Kate Smith. Maybe America will somehow always have a remnant and they'll need to hear it.

God bless these soldiers, and Meatball who gave them all much needed love and a distraction from all they were going through. I hope the soldiers and the dogs all get back home, to safety and the love, gratitude and care they all deserve. Yeah I am an animal lover, proud of it, it makes me feel good to see other people have a heart and a soul despite all the ugly crap we see everyday and can find something in the eyes of this dog that touches them. God bless them.

Lawyers are questioning whether the Delaware attorney's office kicked their most experienced prosecutors off the Hunter Biden case – just before they filed minor charges against the president's son. Whistleblowers who ran the IRS criminal probe into Hunter for five years told Congress about their travails with veteran Delaware prosecutors Lesley Wolf, Shawn Weede, and Shannon Hanson. But in a letter to a federal judge last week announcing the charges against Hunter, Delaware US Attorney David Weiss listed three different prosecutors who have apparently had no previous involvement in the case – leading to questions of a last-minute overhaul by the Delaware DoJ.

The White House has stayed silent on the shocking discovery on Sunday night that forced an evacuation while the president was in Camp David with his recovering drug addict son Hunter.

Millions of Americans will attend parades, fireworks and other Independence Day events on Tuesday, celebrating the courage of the nation’s 18th century patriots who fought for independence from Great Britain and what they considered an unjust government. Those events also will honor the military and those who sacrificed in other conflicts that helped preserve the nation’s freedom over its 247-year history. That is only one version of a “patriot.” Today, the word and its variants have morphed beyond the original meaning. It has become infused in political rhetoric and school curriculums, with varying definitions, while being appropriated by white nationalist groups. Trying to define what a patriot is depends

Although the day is still somewhat young, it doesn't appear to strike too much enthusiasm from President Joe Biden thus far.At 10am, the White House tweeted a simple "Happy Fourth of July, America" message. Biden's official account tweeted something similar at around 9:30am, a "Happy Fourth, America," tweet with different colors. His personal account retweeted the message.

With just two months to go, there are 15 candidates vying for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 – and only one-third of the field has met the requirements so far to debate in August. Longshot candidates remain at risk of not qualifying in time to reach the debate stage, while some of the frontrunners are threatening to boycott due to restrictions and rules set by the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki claimed Republicans are recruiting Muslims against transgender people in her Sunday episode of MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki.” Psaki claimed Republicans are using former President Richard Nixon’s “Southern Strategy” method by turning Muslim Americans against transgender people and, in turn, winning their vote. “Now, decades later, the right-wing is reviving that same playbook,” Psaki said. “This time, with Muslim Americans and trans people. Hear me out here, the GOP is trying to recruit Muslim Americans, a community that makes up less than two percent of the U.S. population against another tiny marginalized group of Americans — transgender people.”

In November 2020, nearly half a year after George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis, I was subjected to a video titled “White Teachers Are a Problem” for a monthly professional development meeting for writing faculty. The video’s featured speaker, Asao Inoue, is a self-described practitioner of anti-racism. Not an obscure one, either: About a year prior, Inoue gave the Chair’s Address at a prestigious writing studies research conference and declared, “White people can perpetuate white supremacy by being present.Your body perpetuates racism.”
