CNN obtained the audio recording of a 2021 meeting in which former President Donald Trump discussed having secret documents he did not declassify.
The network ran the audio on Anderson Cooper 360. In it, Trump seemed to be showing the confidential documents to others in the room, as they had a discussion about Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Portions of the audio are cited in the federal indictment of Trump over his withholding of classified documents after he left the White House. In the conversation, reportedly with the writers of Mark Meadows autobiography, Trump referred to the document and that it remained classified.

What I value most about MSNBC’s new lineup is the ability of its hosts to do hard-hitting interviews with adverse guests. No Fox News–like softballs here; instead we get former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki interviewing former Democratic House speaker Nancy Pelosi, and the results are every bit as explosively contentious as you would expect from two people who have been blowing kisses to one another over an explicitly shared political agenda for the last several years. (I assume it was not Psaki’s bona fides as a commentator wot got her the job as the Biden administration’s mouthpiece.)

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said Sunday he no longer uses the term “ESG” when talking of investing, lamenting it has become politicized.
Fink spoke at the Aspen Ideas Festival, announcing the term Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) investing is now past, arguing it has been “politically weaponized” and he is “ashamed’ to be part of the debate. “When I write these [investment] letters, it was never meant to be a political statement. … They were written to identify long-term issues to our long-term investors,” he said. However, when pressed on his statement, he backtracked, saying, “I never said I was ashamed. I’m not ashamed. I do believe in conscientious capitalism.”

At least five Secret Service agents have reportedly testified in front of a grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump's role in the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The case is one of two being pursued by Special Counsel Jack Smith, who earlier this month brought charges against Trump for allegedly mishandling classified documents.
In the second case, a grand jury is weighing whether to bring charges over the then president's conduct in the run-up to the attack and attempts to interfere in certifying the 2020 election results.

While visiting the US-Mexico border, Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis released his border security plan which calls for an end of birthright citizenship and for him to be able to send the US military into Mexico if necessary. “Joe Biden has failed to meet the most basic responsibility of ensuring the territorial integrity of our country,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said as his plan was unveiled in Texas. “Biden’s gross dereliction of duty has left the southern border in shambles.”
The plan, which mirrors many immigration talking points laid out by other Republicans, including GOP rival Donald Trump, also promised to finish the border wall

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke out Monday for the first time since hundreds of armed Wagner mercenaries briefly challenged Russia's military leadership, calling on rebellion organizers to be "brought to justice."
"This is criminal activity, which is aimed at weakening the country. This is a colossal threat," Putin said in a five-minute televised address to the nation. Putin, who appeared visibly angry, said while Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin called off the rebellion shortly after it started, the "armed rebellion would have been put down anyway."
"Civic solidarity has shown that any blackmail attempts to create internal unrest are doomed to failure," Putin said. "They wanted Russians to fight each other

Last week, a whistleblower gave us a flurry of revelations of Biden administration corruption, including interfering with the federal investigation of Hunter Biden as well as evidence that Joe Biden was directly involved in bribing foreign nationals. The recent allegations appear to prove definitively that Joe Biden, despite his repeated denials, was not only very much involved in Hunter’s shady foreign business deals but was also a key factor in them. In light of this, the White House appears to have subtly changed its longstanding narrative.
You’ve no doubt heard Joe Biden deny having any involvement in Hunter Biden’s non-U.S. business dealings. “I have never

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday lifted its hold on a Louisiana political remap case, increasing the likelihood that the Republican-dominated state will have to redraw boundary lines to create a second mostly Black congressional district.
For more than a year, there has been a legal battle over the GOP-drawn political boundaries, with a federal judge, Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards and opponents saying that the map is unfair and discriminates against Black voters.
The map, which was used in Louisiana’s November congressional election, has white majorities in five of six districts, all currently held by Republicans. This is despite Black people accounting for one-third of the state’s population.

FBI Director Christopher Wray will appear before the House Judiciary Committee on July 12, a source familiar with the scheduling confirmed to the Daily Caller.
Republicans on the committee have criticized the bureau at length for allegedly conducting politicized investigations, including Operation Crossfire Hurricane. Members are also likely to ask about investigations into former President Donald Trump and first son Hunter Biden, who recently pleaded guilty to two tax misdemeanors. Wray last testified before Congress in Nov. 2022, when he appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Wray’s scheduled appearance was first reported by Punchbowl News.

Jill Biden has been reassuring donors that 'nothing' can slow down Joe Biden as a new poll shows a majority of voters remain concerned about his mental and physical health to be president.
'Nothing can slow him down and now he's ready to finish the job,' the first lady said at fundraisers in Minnesota and Tennessee on Saturday, where donors gave millions of dollars to Biden's re-election effort.
The president is coming off a series of stumbles: he tumbled at the Air Force Academy and had a near fall in Hiroshima when he tripped on a set of stairs earlier this month.

Green recycling isn't quite saving the earth the way they said it would.
So here in San Diego, where we are under a state mandate to recycle our green garbage -- food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard clippings -- fresh new environmental problems are abounding.
According to local T.V. station KFMB:
SAN DIEGO — Months after the City of San Diego implemented its new organic waste recycling program, some San Diegans say they’re now dealing with unintended consequences.
People say they’re seeing an explosion of gnats, flies, maggots and other bugs and insects inside their bins.

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear an appeal from a North Carolina school that required girls to wear skirts so they could be treated as 'fragile vessels.'
Turning away an appeal by Charter Day School Inc, the justices left in place a lower court's decision that the dress code discriminates against students based on gender in violation the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment promise of equal protection under the law.
Charter schools in North Carolina are tuition-free, open to attendance by all, and receive state funding for each student. They are run by private, nonprofit corporations rather than a public school district.

Eight percent. That’s the absurdly tiny fraction of America’s public-school teacher workforce aged 60-or-older who faced non-trivial mortality risk from COVID-19 before vaccines were available.
Eight percent also happens to be the share of Black 13-year-olds who – according to recently released federal data – performed at the top level in mathematics on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). And while traditional public schools have failed to deliver for disadvantaged students of color for far too long, these alarming numbers represent a significant drop in their performance since before the pandemic.

The U.S. Department of Transportation announced Monday it is releasing some $1.7 billion in grants to fund new electric and low-emission buses across the country.
The taxpayer dollars come from the 2021 infrastructure bill signed into law by President Joe Biden, AP reports, with the money going to transit projects in 46 states and territories.
“Every day, millions of Americans climb aboard over 60,000 buses to get to work, to school, doctor’s appointments, everywhere they need to be,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said in a call with reporters.
“These are unprecedented levels of investment when it comes to putting modern cleaner buses on the road.”

Lacking either a moral compass or a consistent foreign policy, Democrats and their fellow travelers in the media have been guided in recent years by what they call “Rahm’s Rule” -- in brief, “never let a serious crisis go to waste.”
Adopting that rule came naturally to President Barack Obama. In a March 2012 meeting with outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Korea, a hot mic picked up Obama telling Medvedev, “It’s important for him to give me space. This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”
The “him,” of course was Putin. Said Medvedev, “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.” Vlad got the message.

We’ve long been critical of Hollywood’s lack of fresh, new ideas and its apparent fascination with rebooting past films or giving us a sequel decades later. Sadly, merely paying homage to the original material is insufficient. Instead, producers opt to incorporate “wokeness,” believing it will be more appealing to modern viewers, but in the process, they end up taking something beloved and turning it into garbage that the masses don’t want to see.
The latest example is Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, the prequel series to the 1978 hit film Grease. I’m not sure who wanted this — it’s bad enough to hear any of the original songs

The present-day Left bears little resemblance to the old civil-libertarian, integrationist Democratic Party that existed from the 1960s through 2000.
The antecedents to its current madness were once previewed in the old party’s extremist wing of campus radicals of the 1960s and 1970s. They were accentuated by Black Lives Matter and Antifa during the Obama years, forged during the COVID lockdown and George Floyd riots, and polished during the era of Trump derangement syndrome.
On almost every issue, Democrats have repudiated their prior reverence for the Supreme Court.

Once upon a time, Democratic presidents understood how important a healthy economy was. President Bill Clinton and his advisers won two elections living by the mantra, “It’s the economy, stupid.” Get that right, they thought, and everything else follows. But today, Americans think President Joe Biden doesn’t get it, June’s I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
The online I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from May 31-June 2 and including responses from 1,358 adults nationwide, asked the following: “To what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statement: The American economy remains strong, as it transitions to steady and stable growth.”

The late Tony Snow of Fox News was the first to notice a number of striking—and embarrassing—similarities between the language of Kaczynski’s manifesto and Al Gore’s pretentious and cliché-ridden Earth in the Balance.
In other words, many arguments of the manifesto were entirely familiar and even conventional, which is why he could easily be confused for the rote-cliché writers

The left owns the election apparatus — voting equipment, ballot-manufacturing, vagrant habitats, election commissions, media intimidation of judges not to look at election fraud and driving out any lawyer who raises a valid case.
Electioneering, by both sides, currently runs 1970s technology.
Leftists make good use of obsolete relational tech; Republicans, not so much.

Something changed last week inside the Beltway that suggests the people who run the Democratic Party now realize President Biden’s tenure in office is not sustainable beyond 2024. The “tell” was not, however, the latest revelation by IRS whistleblowers about his corrupt administration. It was instead the sudden awakening of the White House press corps. The same “reporters” who snored through more than two years of preposterous claims by Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and her predecessor simultaneously woke up Friday. Correspondents from media outlets CNN, CBS, NBC, and even the New York Times aggressively questioned Jean-Pierre about the metastasizing Hunter Biden scandals.

Call it whatever floats your boat: circular firing squad, internecine warfare, intentional implosion, or Republican intraparty politics as usual, but the song remains the same: the Republican Party has a long history of doing more damage to itself than any damage caused by the Democrats and their lapdog media stooges.
In the latest example, the House Freedom Caucus is reportedly discussing kicking Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to the curb over her “unprofessional” behavior.
According to a report from left-leaning Axios, members of the Freedom Caucus discussed MTG’s ouster during a closed-door meeting on Friday morning, three sources familiar with the conversation told the outlet.

The corruption of the U.S. government is exemplified by the Biden administration. The corruption of the Biden administration is exemplified by its Department of Justice. And the corruption of the Department of Justice is presided over by Attorney General Merrick Garland.
But that isn’t the worst of it. Corruption of the Department of Justice goes to the heart of American democracy. It makes a mockery of the rule of law. It thumbs its nose at the Constitution. Corruption of some agencies might only a costly annoyance. Corruption of the Department of Justice threatens our republic.
