Prosecutors have asked for a December trial for Donald Trump over the Mar-a-Lago classified documents, saying the new date would give the former president's legal team time to obtain the necessary security clearance to view the documents. The judge overseeing the case, Aileen Cannon, on Tuesday provisionally set an August date for the trial. She said at the time that she was open to requests for it to change. On Friday, the office of Jack Smith, the special counsel leading the investigation, requested a December 11 start. They said it would allow Trump's legal team sufficient time to obtain the necessary security clearances to view the classified documents.

Meanwhile, an army of criminals is marching on war criminal Putin while we have a criminal as the head of our military trying to make a criminal out of President Trump in order to “win” re-election. What we are watching in the US and Russia, two countries with over 10,000 nuclear weapons, is beyond science fiction, Monty Python’s opening line, And now, something completely different, is an understatement to what is unfolding before us due to Biden and Putin,

Trump has to be the thickest skin man on the face of the earth. Many people would have committed suicide by now. I know that the man isn’t perfect but he’s innocent, anyone reading this probably agrees. Will this BS ever stop? Can he escape another attempt to be put in jail? Folks I feel that if in 2024 Trump doesn’t become President this country will never come back. Im praying for all those young, like my grandchildren.

Jack A. Smith is trying to delay so as to interfere with the campaign. PDJT's team has been ready since the start of this Kabuki Theater, but the Dems, their yes-men, this prosecutor, if that's what he claims he is, want to prevent this fiasco coming to conclusion. My question: is campaign interference the same as election interference?

#7 & 8, I agree. Smith wants to make sure this trial and the others are close together. They intend to use that as a talking point and you can imagine the media’s breathless reporting on it. It will be called unprecedented that a former President and present Presidential candidate is being tried in several courts almost simultaneously. It will be about the trials 24/7 which hurts Trump and allows the American people to forget that old Joe is, once again, hiding in his basement. Democrats are despicable cheats and liars and their leader is a perverted crook. Smith and his comrades are disgusting examples of just how far the democrat party will go to destroy Trump. It is getting very frustrating to witness Biden and his debauched son live the high life knowing what they are guilty of while President Trump is persecuted by a corrupt political system that should have been exposed in 2020. The American people know who the crooks are and I pray they are as disgusted as I am to see what these election thieves have done to our country. I believe the theft of the election in 2020 proves Edmund Burke’s wise assessment that “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing.” I hope all those Republicans and media wizards of smart who counseled President Trump to just let the fraud go choke on their cowardice. In my opinion, they are the existential threat to this country because they knew the election was stolen and they did nothing. Now look where we are. The country is teetering on collapse and the most evil cabal of unAmerican zealots are in charge. These cowards are responsible for failing to honor their oaths of office and to speak truth to power. Our Founders would revile them all for their lack of courage.

The whole objective here is to keep Trump off the ballot. That plan is in place. This is the only the first of many trial delays. I know people want to be loyal to Trump. I get it. But at some point our focus has to be on electing a Republican President and getting rid of the vermin in the WH. I’m not sacrificing myself or my country for the sake of one man.

#6 expresses my #1 concern. This gives the FBI several months to dig up future blackmail information on Trump’s associates. We don’t know where this is all leading, but we know how the Justice Department operates. They have labeled people simply attending things like Trump rallies, January 6th protests, and school board meetings as insurrectionists. What else could they come up with to justify denying them a clearance to look at what is supposedly classified material? In effect, the Feds have undue influence on the makeup of PDT’s defense team.

Had a weird thought about this. The Special Counsel's name is Jack Smith. Is that his real name or an alias? The name Jack Smith is not far off from John Smith. Common alias. When agents go undercover, they use fake names and identity. Is Jack Smith his real identity? Not sure why anyone would do that, but there is a level of deception in all of this, so I don't rule it out.

As usual, DM writes only for headline readers. Deeper analysis has proposed that Jack Smith, that by dictating that President Trump could not have access, nor share, any supporting materials for his trial, was expecting a lengthy court battle which would give the prosecutor more time to prepare (manufacture) his case. When Trump and his lawyers said ok, Mr. Smith was forced to scramble. Once again, Trump is at least one step ahead.

Re#4: "I'd rather be ruled by Xi than this evil bunch." I'd rather not be "ruled" by anyone. That is the founding principle of America; that one is fully capable of ruling one's own life and respecting the God-given right of others to do the same. Former President Donald Trump has been charged with a variety of crimes, including violation of the misnamed Espionage Act. That 1917 statute is misnamed because it covers a great many offenses that don’t involve spying or giving secrets to the enemy. In fact, over the years it has been used extensively against patriotic Americans who have opposed wars and dissented from other government actions. In Trump’s case, he is being accused primarily of unlawful possession of allegedly classified material.

Atlanta— Lawmakers in several Republican-led states have been looking to exert more authority over state and local election offices, claiming new powers that Democrats warn could be used to target left-leaning counties in future elections. The moves range from requiring legislative approval of court settlements in election-related lawsuits to creating paths for taking over local election offices. In North Carolina, a Republican proposal working its way through the General Assembly would change the composition of state and county election boards and give lawmakers sole authority to appoint board members.
