Ron DeSantis’s campaign wants him to meet and take more questions from ordinary voters to overcome fears about his temperament, DailyMail.com has learned.
The 44-year-old has so far shied away from Q&A sessions on the road, despite being a standard feature of U.S. politics.
The Florida Governor, who is currently in a distant second place behind Donald Trump in opinion polls, has also evaded media scrutiny at his public events.(snip)Now, three DeSantis staffers have said they have concerns about the Navy veteran’s presentational style after being overshadowed by his wife Casey at rallies.

Jimmy Carter smiled all the time, and he was terrible. DeSantis has to show he is honest, knows what he is doing, and be a good speaker. Do that and he is golden.

Gov. Desantis, stop wasting your time and our time.
We're voting for Trump. In 2028, if you stay honest and actually conservative, you can have my vote.

And so goes the political parade of Trump supporters trashing DeSantis and posting stuff like this. I like both, but politics says let's malign the rising star. Okay, so DeSantis has advisors in his campaign, Oh my!!!

I liked him a lot better before he started taking advice. Seems like every politician becomes diseased and unclean as soon as the professional hacks get involved.

It's troublesome to me that he's being backed by the Bushes.

2024 isn't Ron's year. He may be a cracker jack governor, but he's listening to the wrong people - as #6 says, specifically the Bushes and their hangers-on.

There is nothing to smile about with what is going on in our corrupt Federal Government.

Interesting that those who lash out at DeSantis for having "advisors" conveniently blame Trump's "advisors" for the bad personnel choices Trump made during his administration. Labeling a renown populist as a "true conservative" follows suit. With Trump so comfortably ahead in the national polls for the '24 GOP nomination, why the need to trash DeSantis at every turn?

So, DeSantis isn't good at fake smiling? I think that's a good thing.

The fact that this is out in the open should worry DeSantis. He has not governed Florida with the help of a lot of 'personality' advisors. I think this idea comes from his wife who was part of the media. The advisors are very worrisome, the Bushes, Rove etc. Being told when to smile reminds me of Gore's run for president.

It's always a laugh when the Brits decide to chime in on American politics. They don't live here, they don't pay taxes here, they don't vote here - so why listen to anything they say?

Scott Walker - outstanding governor who could do no wrong up in Wisconsin. Rick Perry - same down in Texas. Both lauded as the next Republican candidate for President. And then, pfffft. Is DeSantis cut from the same cloth?

This was a lot easier when candidates took the train everywhere. Now there is no time to practice when the Whistle Stop consists of taxi and take-off, land and load up again.

Reagan,Trump, Clinton. Palin. Probably JFK. Probably not RFK. They are charismatic and connect with people. Its a you have it or you don't gift.
The Bushes do not, Romney does not, Paul Ryan does not.
Rush and Lucianne did.
DeSantis does not have it. You don't get 81 Million by faking interest in "those people". Ask Hillary, Ask Dukakis, ask Kerry or Gore.

Gov. Ron is a darn good Administrator for the State of Florida. He's not a people person. President Trump is. You can tell President Trump loves people and is loyal. Loyalty and caring are a rare commodities in the political world. We've heard rumblings that Governor Ron only connects with people who can help him. Donald Trump helps people when nobody is looking. Now that spells a People's President! And we love President Trump for that and we trust him for that and we will vote for him for that!
We pray others will see the character of these two men.

I like De Santis a lot. I hope to vote for him some day. In the meantime I might move to Florida. I am voting for Trump this time. I like him, too, and I don't care whether he and De Santis denounce each other, anwer their telephones, grin a lot, or punch their colleagues when they meet. I am going to vote for them both. First Trump. then De Santis.

Sorry for the second post, but where is the proof that DeSantis is connected with the Bushes? I haven’t seen one photo or read about any meetings, but maybe I’m not with it like the posters who keep saying they’re all in bed with each other.
