Virginia officials have launched a war on fentanyl, vowing to cut the number of deaths from fentanyl in the state by 20 percent.
Gov Glenn Youngkin, a Republican who entered office in 2022, called fentanyl a 'weapon of terrorism'.
The drug was responsible for killing at least 70,600 Americans in 2022 and caused more than 1,950 deaths in Virginia alone. The synthetic opioid enters the US through the southern border and contaminates the illicit drug supply, ravaging local communities and major cities alike.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) excoriated Democrats while visiting the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday ahead of the massive influx of illegal aliens set to flood into the U.S. as Title 42 expires.

A busload of migrants from Texas arrived at Vice President Kamala Harris’s residence in Washington, DC on Thursday hours before Title 42 was set to expire.
More than 30 migrants – men, women and children mostly from Venezuela – were dropped off outside the US Naval Observatory, which hosts the official residence of the vice president, according to NBC News.
The outlet reports that the bus was the second to arrive at the Naval Observatory in less than 24 hours, with the first vehicle dropping off almost 40 individuals.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) slammed House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for claiming that Republicans are creating a “fictional argument” around the invasion on the southern border.
The NRCC released a video on Thursday, given first to Breitbart News, that slams Jeffries for his comments earlier in the day when he claimed during a press conference that Republicans created a “fictional argument” around what is happening at the southern border.
The detriment to “national sovereignty, border security, and the safety of American citizens” caused by ending Title 42 “cannot be overstated,” warned Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton who slammed President Biden for “prioritizing an open-borders agenda above any semblance of border security.”
In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News on Thursday, Paxton lamented the lifting of the Title 42 Trump-era public health policy that allows for the immediate expulsion of migrants without allowing them to seek asylum.
