New York City Mayor Eric Adams referred to Rockland County Executive Ed Day as racist and antisemitic Thursday, comparing him to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott amid the ongoing battle over plans to house asylum seekers in the Hudson Valley. This latest development comes as sheriff's officers were posted outside the Armoni Hotel in the Rockland County town of Orangeburg a day earlier, where a temporary restraining order is in place barring migrants from moving in. NYC was looking to send a couple hundred migrant men to the northern suburbs at what the mayor's staff would be an emergency-use hotel. But

People wanting to protect their way of life from illegal invaders is not racist...I seem to recall it was okay when Martha's Vineyard purged their illegals.

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn -- Three more buses carrying asylum seekers arrived at Port Authority on Saturday morning as backlash continues against New York City's plans on where to house the migrants. (Snip) New York City officials continue to look for places to house the influx of asylum seekers, and now one new place under consideration is PS 188 at the far end of Coney Island. Its standalone gym, not currently being used by the school, is among the sites the city intends to house adult migrants. Councilmember Ari Kagan says there has been an utter lack of communication from City Hall.

President Biden remained mum on Friday as chaos continues unfolding at the southern border following the expiration of Title 42. Title 42, the Trump-era policy that was implemented during the COVID pandemic that deterred border crossings due to health concerns, lapsed overnight, prompting thousands of migrants to come to the US-Mexico border hoping to gain entry. Press were allowed in the Oval Office for Biden's bilateral meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez Friday, but White House staff pushed reporters out of the room as they shouted questions to the president. Biden sat silently for over a minute, offering a

It’s time for gay and bisexual men to pay attention to mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, again. That’s the message from public health authorities and LGBT health providers as cases rise in some countries and small clusters of infections in vaccinated people have been detected in Chicago and France. The World Health Organization on May 11 said mpox no longer presents a public health emergency of international concern because global cases have declined and countries are better equipped to respond, but that doesn’t mean the threat is eliminated. Last year’s mpox outbreak started in the spring, driven in part by

After more than 11,000 migrants crossed the southern border on Tuesday, the Biden administration is now preparing a memo that will direct Customs and Border Protection to begin releasing migrants into the United States without court dates or the ability to track them, according to three sources familiar with the plans. The man accused of killing a St. Croix County Sheriff's deputy on Saturday before turning the gun on himself was on probation in Minnesota for a 2015 kidnapping and sexual assault. A statement from the Wisconsin Department of Justice identified the shooter as 34-year-old Jeremiah D. Johnson. The DOJ says Johnson was potentially impaired and had driven his vehicle into a ditch in the town of Glenwood, Saturday evening. St. Croix County Sheriff's Office Deputy Katie Leising, 29, responded and attempted to conduct field sobriety tests when Johnson became evasive. CHICAGO, Ill. — Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot issued a State of Emergency declaration on Tuesday due to a surge in immigrants arriving in Chicago from Texas. According to the mayor’s office, the situation amounts to a “national humanitarian crisis” that is “exceeding the City’s ability to manage” the influx of over 8,000 migrants who have arrived since last August. “Chicago is doing everything it can to respond to the urgency of this matter. The City has continued to call on federal and state governments to support the new arrival mission with much-needed additional funding and resources for emergency shelter and

There were few people in politics less popular than Hillary Clinton over the last 20 years. The people who loved her, and there were a bunch of them, really loved her. But the people who hated her truly despise her the way kids hate eating vegetables. Knowing that, she barely lost the 2016 election. Polling showing Joe Biden is about as popular as an infected foot is reason to be hopeful about next year’s election, but it does not mean he will be easy to be. NEW YORK -- The end of emergency immigration restrictions is expected to result in a flood of migrants at the U.S. southern border, and New York City is bracing for what leaders are calling a "tidal wave" of asylum seekers. Chicago got a lot more than it bargained for when the people voted for “sanctuary city” policies. On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas argued that the number of crossings at the border has spiked in the past year due to “poverty, violence, corruption, authoritarian regimes, the COVID-19 pandemic, extreme weather events,” and false information from smugglers. Co-host Willie Geist asked, “You said a moment ago, Mr. Secretary, that we have a broken immigration system. And I don’t think many people would disagree with you about that. And yes, this is a decades-old problem, but the truth of the matter is, just this week, we’re seeing record numbers of illegal crossings at the border. Donald Trump’s CNN town hall on Wednesday night was viewed as a gift from the political gods inside Biden world. But within broader Democratic circles it fed a nagging and growing concern. Is the president’s team a touch too confident about a Trump-Biden rematch? That conviction has only been fortified by the last two years, in which major legislative strides and a better-than-expected midterm came in the face of routine skepticism. But as the campaign gears up,

Reuters on Thursday reported that the Biden administration delayed issuing sanctions against China for sending its obnoxious alleged spy balloon across the continental United States because it feared angering Beijing and damaging the “U.S.-China relationship.” Reuters based its report on a trove of emails between Biden administration officials, plus four sources, to report that a soft touch was taken with China over the balloon, which President Joe Biden belatedly ordered shot down after it completed its alleged surveillance mission. These sources said the administration is still delaying the implementation of some punitive measures, including tougher export rules for Chinese telecom giant Huawei and sanctions against Chinese officials for abusing
