This week Joe Biden touted a laundry list of immigration carrots and sticks intended to disincentivize illegal immigration at the southern border now that he's lifting the sparsely enforced Title 42 restrictions on May 11. They were mostly carrots. The New York Times called them a "new back door on immigration," and explained that its permissiveness went well beyond the lawful congressional parameters for the admission of immigrants. The response? More migrants at the border than ever. They're massing now in record numbers. Call it 5/11. (Snip) That sounds extreme, but it's based on local Border Patrol reports and there are confirming reports of very large numbers of migrants massing

A mass shooting in Texas has left five people dead, including one child, and three more kids wounded.
The whispering imps in the lefty, Pravda news industry didn’t want to mention that the shooter is a Mexican national, though at least one was quick to point out the type of gun he used.
“5 dead in Texas ‘execution-style’ shooting, suspect armed with AR-15 is on the loose,” ABC reported.
Fast facts about the mass shooting in Texas:
Francisco Oropeza, 39, was firing his rifle around midnight. His neighbors asked him to stop.
Oropeza approached his neighbor’s home, entered, and began firing.
All of the dead victims were shot “execution style” in the head.

RFK Jr. announced he is running for president. As of April 19, 2023, he had snagged 14% of Biden’s voters just by declaring his candidacy. Then he began to talk. Now, ten days later, RealClearPolitics currently has RFK Jr. at 20%. Not too shabby.
FACT-O-RAMA! The name “Kennedy” is still considered to be American royalty by people 55 years and older, and those people tend to vote.

In light of what we are witnessing and experiencing in the world today, integrity may seem like an old-fashioned concept unrelated to modern life. If we look up the definition of integrity in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, we will learn that integrity means “adherence to a strict moral or ethical code; incorruptible; honest; virtuous.” Unfortunately, when we read the daily news headlines, we may think there are no people left with any shred of integrity because almost every news story has to do with corruption, dishonesty, or lack of virtue.
We also don’t hear much about “walking your talk” these days unless in conjunction with a Twelve Step addiction recovery program

Next month, it will be 31 years since The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson aired its farewell episode. We all knew that Carson was irreplaceable. Greatly modified expectations got late-night fans through the first several years after Carson retired. Democrats have mostly given up on denying that Joe Biden is suffering from an advanced stage of dementia. Their strategy, as exemplified by their mouthpiece the New York Times, has shifted to a defense of senility. Do we need a mentally competent president? Nah.

The Supreme Court decision last year in Dobbs v. Jackson overruled Roe v. Wade, their 1973 decision that purported to find an abortion right in a U.S. Constitution that never mentions or alludes to it. Abortion is now rightly governed by the people’s elected legislators, and, sadly, to some extent by unelected bureaucrats, but, in any event, not by judges.
The Dobbs decision was leaked a couple of months in advance of its issuance.
