Growing up in the 1950s, I remember distinctly that all of my high school classmates were obsessed with figuring out who they really were, males or females. Every conversation, the special clubs we formed to talk about this issue, the heated arguments we had with our parents who didn’t “get” that the children they thought were boys or girls were not at all what those dinosaurs imagined sex and gender to be, and the total lack of understanding we got from the powers-that-be, including teachers, counselors, coaches, doctors. It was truly a horrible time to be a girl or boy

For years, it seems, folks like me have been begging the Democratic party to return to its sneaky, crafty roots in its battle to keep the Republicans from wrecking the joint. Where, we thought, were our Lyndons and our Kingfishes? Where were our Curleys and our Daleys and our LaGuardias? Where was the ruthless 1960 Robert Kennedy and his band of Hibernian cutthroats from the three-deckers of Middlesex and Suffolk Counties? Where is FDR, for pity's sake, as crafty an Oval Office operator as ever tilted a cigarette holder?

As JD Vance called to thank those who backed his successful Senate campaign in Ohio last fall, donors on the other end of the line shared a useful bit of information.
Establishment Republicans had been calling around to some of the same people, attempting to build support for a potential presidential run by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to two sources familiar with Vance’s conversations. Vance, who owed his victory in large part to former President Donald Trump’s endorsement, moved to quickly return the favor.

As most people know by now, an IRS supervisor has told lawmakers he has information that the Biden administration is improperly handling the criminal investigation into President Biden’s son Hunter and this IRS supervisor is seeking whistleblower protection, probably from Chairman Jason Smith’s Ways and Means Committee since it’s a tax matter, or so we think. The whistleblower also claims to have information that would contradict sworn testimony by "a senior political appointee" who allegedly provided "preferential treatment" for Hunter Biden.

The lawyer for the IRS whistleblower alleging the Biden administration is mishandling the federal investigation into Hunter Biden told Fox News on Thursday that his client is "not a political person" and does not have a "political agenda," but does have documents to support his allegations that he hopes to bring to both congressional Democrats and Republicans.
Mark Lytle, the whistleblower’s attorney, sat down for an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier on "Special Report" on Thursday evening, explaining his client’s allegations

Kneeling could be an avenue to rise through the ranks at the FBI, judging by promotions for two agents who did so in solidarity with Black Lives Matter protesters.
One of the two agents appears in a video for her alma mater saying that the FBI seeks a “diverse workforce” to ensure that the bureau is “looking like the communities that we represent.”
Protests and riots linked to the Black Lives Matter movement swept the nation in the weeks and months after the May 25, 2020, killing of George Floyd, who was black, by a Minneapolis police officer who is white. In some cases, law enforcement joined the protests.

Public education has long been a battlefield in the U.S., from the Scopes trial to desegregation to climate change. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s recent demands for greater control over public education—and students’ bodies—in the guise of “parent’s rights” accelerates this conflict, rejecting the importance of learning as a public good in itself in favor of promoting conformity and uncritical thinking.
As a historian of fascism and Italian fascist education, I find the moves to exert more power over education disturbingly familiar. Even ignoring the obvious harm DeSantis’s campaign inflicts on Florida’s students—already detailed by numerous experts

A furious row erupted in MAGA world after Donald Trump reportedly told aides to give “proud Islamophobe” Laura Loomer a role in his 2024 campaign.

A statement Gen. Mark Milley, the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, made during a House hearing last week on Iran's nuclear program alarmed Israeli defense and intelligence officials to the point they protested and asked the Biden administration for clarifications, four Israeli officials told Axios.
Driving the news: Milley, testifying before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, said that the U.S. "remains committed as a matter of policy that Iran will not have a fielded nuclear weapon." The word "fielded" created the impression among Israeli officials that the U.S. had changed its policy on Iran and would tolerate Tehran having a nuclear weapons program, the four sources said.

BEIRUT — Israeli airstrikes hit several sites in Syria’s Homs province early Sunday, wounding five soldiers, Syrian state media reported. Hours later, the Israeli military said it shot down an “aircraft” that crossed from Syria into Israel’s airspace. In Iran, state media reported that an Iranian adviser who was wounded in an Israeli strike on Friday died of his wounds. Since the start of Syria’s conflict in March 2011, Iran has been a main supporter of President Bashar Assad’s government and has sent advisers since the early days of the war. Sunday’s strike marked the ninth time Israel has struck targets in Syria since the beginning of the year,

The United States and other supposedly advanced and intelligent countries are working as fast as they can to destroy companies that produce oil, coal, natural gas and all the products derived from them. They are doing it because of the predictions that these products cause temperatures to rise and massive climate damage.
What the media and other pushers of radical green energy policies never show is scientific data that show a direct link between our consumption of these products and warming temperatures. Because there is none.
The U.S and other countries are trying to stop allowing us to buy reasonably priced, efficient,

If the Nobel Prize Committee had the category of Most Influential Invention of the Last Century, one candidate might be the Pill, the contraceptive that came into widespread use in the 1960s and triggered a chain reaction of one tectonic, societal earthquake after another. I was a college student at the time and watched it happen.
If you want to know the origin of today’s sexual madness—”What’s your pronoun?” “Men can get pregnant.” Little boys get castrated; pubescent girls undergo double mastectomies, and drag queens entertain American kindergarten kids.—it all began with the Pill that re-configured the relationship between men and women as never before since the Garden of Eden.
