The city of Denver is facing criticism from homeless advocates after removing encampments near Coors Field ahead of the Colorado Rockies' opening day. "It’s disgraceful, and they’re not trying to solve the problem," Grant Francis, with the homeless advocacy group Mutual Aid Monday, told Denver7. "They’re just trying to provide some optics that make it look like they’re trying to do something." (Snip) Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, a Democrat, has been criticized for sweeps in the past — especially ones that appear to coincide with sporting events

Import vast quantities of drugs.
De-criminalize and de-stigmatize drug abuse.
Voila ! An increase in the homeless population.
De-stigmatize homelessness on a vast scale.
Use the homeless to take from the working class.
All done by the book.

Move the Homeless to a remote area. Put in some Solar Cells for electricity, must share 10 Plugs.
They want food, they have to trek 40 miles to get it. Problem solved.

Such is my former hometown, the People's Republic of Denver. I don't miss the dim corruption, the traffic, out of control growth, the decay of the downtown area, the local msm, and the attitudes. Will never go back.

What’s the big deal? The demonrats did the same thing in NYC for their national convention in 1992. God forbid that anyone should actually see the results of their policies.

Get rid of these campers permanently. Stop allowing these camps to be set-up.

For years, Pittsburgh had a minor league farm club in Charleston WV. The city even built them a brand new stadium,in the skid row section of town.
The Pirates asked the city more than once to stop allowing the homeless to beg the players for money as they arrived and departed
The city refused to take action.
The city's only response was---Move.
So they did.
The Pirates ended their affiliation with Charleston in 2018 and moved the team to Greensboro NC. Greensboro kept their team in the MLB farm team shakeup.
Charleston now has an unaffiliated team of no name players.
The bums are worse now than they ever were.

Homeless don't have special rights, though they think so.

I was reading one of the sites giving orders, I mean instructions on what do do if you wanted to attend today's Seattle Mariners game. The comments were the best part.

There are people profiting off the homeless. Shame on them.

Why is it Denver's responsibility to give the homeless some place to live?

#5 I remember listening to Rush in 1992. A member of his radio staff was handing out grape kool-aid to the dem convention attendees.

Giving them housing never works. The won't maintain the home and still need to pay for furniture, appliances, homeowner's insurance, utilities, their own food, medical care, and mostly importantly, drugs and/or liquor. The underling problem is they are not contributing anything to their own well being.

Giving a compassionate helping hand to people in need is square at the heart of Christian charity. If those needing help refuse to collaborate with the care, it should not be forced on them. But the local laws should not be simply waived when broken by them -- they should not be given carte blanche to camp on whatever public property they choose, without any respect to health codes.
