Finland's main conservative party claimed victory in parliamentary elections Sunday in a tight three-way race that saw right-wing populists take second place, leaving Prime Minister Sanna Marin's Social Democratic Party in third, dashing her reelection hopes. The results sparked worries in the EU over far-right The Finns party's infamous anti-EU sentiments. Speaking to Express.co.uk, Dr Helena Ivanov, research fellow at the Henry Jackson Society, pointed out that after the Italian and Swedish election results, the bloc is increasingly moving towards the right in a seeming "domino effect".

Comments:

Newsflash Dr Helena, voters/governments moving towards the right is a good thing.

Why is it that the term "far-left" never appears in headlines and news stories? Why is that? The far-left certainly exists in Europe and the US.

The commie brainwashed journalists/media, and socialists in power will always portray "normal" people as right wing, far right, extreme right for the ignorant/simple minded amongst us who are easily swayed by such tripe. Unfortunately for sane people, this actually works and the easily manipulated sheep of the world buy it hook, line, and sinker. This naming trend began back in the late 70s/early 80s with the U.S. enemedia, at least that's as far back as I can remember such labels.

Finnish politics could dramatically shift to the far-Right on Sunday as an anti-immigration party aims to replace Sanna Marin's Social Democrats Party. The 'rock star' prime minister, who took office in 2019 as the world's youngest PM at 34, is Finland's most popular leader this century, polls show. However, latest figures put the mother-of-one's centre-Left SDP in third place behind the anti-immigration and nationalist Finns Party and the centre-Right National Coalition Party, which held on to a thin lead.
