On the Left, dealing with disappointment
of Trump indictment

Something odd happened in the days leading up to the New York indictment of former President Donald Trump. Nobody outside a small group of prosecutors knew what the sealed indictment said. But on the basis of leaks — there were a lot — as well as indicators of what the grand jury was doing, observers could sketch out what the indictment would likely be. And it seemed...weak. As the days went by, critics noted that the expected main charge, falsification of business records, is a misdemeanor with a long-passed two-year statute of limitations. Democratic prosecutor Alvin Bragg, it was said, would try to inflate that misdemeanor into a felony by alleging

Old news but let's keep this incompetent failure on the front page. A crooked DA and a crooked judge can team up to cause a lot of damage over nothing.

any proceedings by any Grand Jury is always held in secret and the conclusion(s) of these Grand Juries is held secret until the case is scheduled for arraignment and first appearance by the proposed defendant, no information on any conclusion reached by these Grand Juries is ever revealed until the date of the first appearance and advisement of allegations

If this is all they have after years of investigating Trump, he must lead a very clean legal life and business career. No wonder they are petrified that he might be president again. Crooks hate an honest man.

The disappointment of the left is a ruse. They are not done with Trump. The left will invent whatever is necessary to run him crazy and ruin him.

President Trump has been put through almost 8 years of anal exams with no results. If he had done anything remotely illegal, we would have known it long ago. Bragg should be sued into oblivion, tried for prosecutorial abuse and sent off for a long stint at Rikers.

Hit submit too soon. Never forget that when the left talks about “democracy”, they are using a code word for “Democrat party power”.

Byron...As Billy Shakespeare wrote, the play is the thing. The play here is to touch public sentiment to sully Trump, if not punish him directly. It's a political gambit, not a legal one. Conviction and appeals are a fair expectation, running through the heart of the nominating process of primaries and caucuses. And, it very likely there is more to come, starting with Georgia.

If the dems have ever wondered how far they could push before the pushback, now they know. We need to keep pushing back hard, and from hundreds of different directions.

Bragg should be publicly flogged, disbarred, imprisoned and the key thrown away. Sounds racist but think what he is doing to your rights, your wellbeing and your future.

As China vows to take "resolute and forceful" measures against Taiwan after its president’s meeting with U.S. lawmakers, one foreign policy expert signaled the Chinese Communist Party’s strong words could be knocked down like a facade with one swift move from American defenses. "[China's] greatest fear is that we will go ahead and announce that Taiwan is not a part of China. We've come close to that over the last 50 years, Japan gave it up in the San Francisco Peace Treaty of 1951, but no one's ever been assigned Taiwan," Hudson Institute Director of the Center on Chinese Strategy Michael Pillsbury said Friday on "Varney & Co."

Fox News has confirmed that the Oversight Committee subpoenaed Bank of America, Cathay Bank, JPMorgan Chase, and HSBC USA N.A., as well as former Hunter Biden business associate Mervyn Yan, asking for financial records. Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, complained that Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., was trying to hide information regarding the investigation from Democrats on the committee. In a statement to Fox News, Comer said "Ranking Member Raskin has again disclosed Committee’s subpoenas in a cheap attempt to thwart cooperation from other witnesses. In comments made on the Lever Time podcast Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez said Thomas' position on the court is an "emergency" and a "crisis," and reiterated her full support for removing him. When asked if she would introduce the articles of impeachment herself, the New York lawmaker said she would step up if no one else does.

The numbers don’t lie: Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump is a massive outlier, not the “bread and butter” move the crime-lover claimed it was. Turns out, his office almost never prosecutes cases on charges like the ones he’s mounted against the ex-prez — i.e., first-degree falsifying business records with the “intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.” State crime data crunched by the Times-Union show that Bragg’s office has gone after people for this as a top charge only eight times in the past few years. Statewide, there have been fewer than 300 such cases since 2019.

Former secretary of state under President Trump Mike Pompeo fired back at claims from the Biden administration that Trump constrained the conditions of the U.S. pullout from Afghanistan, during which 13 American soldiers died in a suicide bombing while protecting the Kabul airport, and untold numbers of Americans and Afghans eligible for evacuation were stranded. The White House on Thursday released its review of President Biden's fumbled 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan while Trump's indictment continues to dominate the headlines. The 12-page outline called the overall decision to end the 20-year war the right thing for America, but declined to acknowledge any mistakes made by Biden while instead repeatedly criticizing Trump's

Tennessee’s GOP-dominated House on Thursday voted to expel Democratic Rep. Justin Jones from the Legislature for his role in a protest calling for gun control following last week’s shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville that killed six people, including three children. Fox 17 Nashville reports that Jones was sanctioned for using a bullhorn when he joined with protesters, which state House leaders called "disorderly behavior." Thursday’s vote marked an extraordinary move from lawmakers that has been executed only a handful of times since the Civil War. House lawmakers are also considering ousting Democratic Reps. Gloria Johnson and Justin Pearson.

Lock Donald Trump up, or don’t lock him up, but don’t tell me that “no one is above the law.” It’s one of the most ludicrous fantasies peddled by the left. Plenty of people are “above the law.” James Clapper, who lied under oath to Congress about spying on the American people, is above the law. John Brennan, who lied about a domestic spying operation on Senate staffers, is above the law. Unlike Trump advisor Peter Navarro, Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder was never going to be handcuffed and thrown in prison for ignoring a congressional subpoena. He is above the law. Trump’s 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton, is also above

Now that we’ve seen what District Attorney Alvin Bragg has, the old Peggy Lee song comes to mind. Is that all there is? Yes, that’s all there is. The charges against Donald Trump are almost exactly as predicted. They are weak and, most important, political. As such, they are shockingly-blatant punishment for Trump daring to become president. In this sordid case, the letters D.A. stand for Democrat Attorney. The charges are the crime. Shame on Bragg for abusing his authority and turning his office into a partisan outpost.

New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg's decision to bring charges will be a moment that historians, and society more broadly, will look back upon as a societal turning point.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s recent demands for greater control over public education—and students’ bodies—in the guise of “parent’s rights” accelerates this conflict, rejecting the importance of learning as a public good in itself in favor of promoting conformity and uncritical thinking.
