The Press Are Really Angry at Ron DeSantis
Again, and the Reason Is Perfect

Original Article

Ron DeSantis has pioneered a new strategy in dealing with the press. Namely, he largely ignores them. For years, outlets like CNN and The New York Times have relied on access to politicians they despise and constantly smear. And for years, Republicans have played along, believing they need the publicity in order to communicate with the American public. Even Donald Trump, famously adversarial with the press, has continued to give interviews to people like Maggie Haberman and Bob Woodward. DeSantis has chosen another path, not even bothering to give his political enemies, which the press obviously are, the free material.

In 2020, the saying was "If the race is about Trump, Biden wins. If the race is about Biden,Trump wins". Since Trump insists on keeping the focus on himself, that's exactly how it turned out. Trump continues to show he lacks the discipline to do otherwise. DeSantis has the discipline, communication skills, and a press strategy to put the focus on Biden. That should all be apparent once he announces.

Well lets see, the Gov. has been Haloed by his handlers and just recently compared himself to our Founding Fathers and oh yeah calls himself an executive, I guess that means he doesn't play second fiddle to no one. Pray tell Ron what kind of private executive experience do you bring to the table? Any? You mean all your life's experiences as a grown up were in government? There's an old saying " I guess that's good enough for government work". At least once Ron gets back to D.C. he'll fit right in with the rest of the "executives"

Didn't he make a promise to the voters of Florida to hold his current office for four years? A broken promise and political bait and switch means something to me.

I foresee even more commentors with anti-Desantis views on this website as he exhibits competence and threatens Biden. That said, until the Republicans fix the voting problems, the next elections will be 98% in favor of Democrats.

Remember the treatment the press gave Sarah Palin when she left the governors office in Alaska to run with McCain? I’m sure Ron will get the same in spades and that will be hard to ignore. His executive skills will help though.

Re#3 Actually, he didn't make that promise. When asked, his answer was always in the vein of, I'm not looking at that now, I have work to do for the state. The media and his opponents went down that path with great regularity in an effort to disqualify him from the governorship. He went on to win by numbers that no republican has ever been able to pull off in Florida. He flipped blue Miami Dade.

If the media cannot get any dirt on DeSantis, they will just make it up. They will use anything they can to get at him. There is a fired DA that the media will periodically interview. They also like to claim DeSantis emptied library bookshelves. There is always red tide, but that hasn't appeared this year (so far). The Lady Chihuahua and I tend to stay far away from the Florida media. The cynical pessimist inside me says Trump can be manipulated and DeSantis can be bought so there is plenty room for a new frontrunner if anyone can rise to the occasion.

Well since the press has made their opinions well known, they don't deserve to have the editorial capacity to alter the interviews of Republicans any longer. I would agree that DeSantis and others, should stop playing into their games, which are connected to the Progressive Democrat agenda.

North Carolina-based First Citizens Bank and Trust has purchased Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), the tech industry favorite that collapsed earlier this month amidst an historic bank run. The agreement involves the sale of all deposits and loans of SVB to First-Citizens, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) said in a statement late Sunday night. AP reports customers of SVB automatically will become customers of First Citizens, which is headquartered in Raleigh. The 17 former branches of SVB will open as First Citizens branches when business begins Monday. Regulators shut Silicon Valley down on March 10 when it had about $167 billion in total assets and roughly $119 billion in deposits.

At a rally in Waco, Texas, former president Donald Trump spoke to thousands of fans about what he believes are the biggest issues of the day. If you were to pay attention to the news cycles and the American people’s biggest concerns, you might think Trump spent hours talking about persistent inflation, a minor financial crisis, border security, the fentanyl epidemic, China, Russia, energy independence, etc. None of that really seemed to be on Trump’s agenda Saturday night, however. Instead, what we got was an airing of grievances from the former president. It was a rally focused on his personal enemies – the Department of Justice, Ron DeSantis, Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell,

I haven’t followed the January 6 prosecutions as closely as I probably should have. I thought it was obvious that the Capitol riot was the most overblown story of modern times. The idea that the protesters who entered the Capitol (mostly peacefully, as far as I could see, more or less invited in by Capitol guards) were mounting an “insurrection” was and is absurd, given that not a single one of them brought a firearm, and they made no attempt to harm anyone inside the Capitol. Some insurrection! A big trial is now going on in Washington–the biggest, as I understand it

Others believe DeSantis should sidestep Trump altogether and wait until 2028 to run.
