Why I love Governor DeSantis

He fights. And unlike some others who fight, he wins. His fights aren’t carried out through rhetoric: he strikes the Left where it hurts them most. The Left has been winning battles based upon a brilliant strategy they adopted in the 60s and 70s. Once it became clear that the strategy of protest was doomed to fail, Leftists adopted what German socialist Rudi Dutschke called “the long march through the institutions,” explicitly referring to Mao’s famous Long March that ended with the victory of the communists in China.

Comments:

Good description of the DeSantis strategy for countering the left.

DeSantis can fight all he wants. It's Trump this turn. The Deep State must be in panic.

" he fights". Oh ok Dave. Everything this guy stated about the Gov. could be written in spades about President Trump. The difference and it is a big difference President Trump has already done it all...without the Club For Growth or the dark Bush crony millions.

Oh, you mean Jeb DeSantis? If he doesn't publicly stand against the Trump arrest/prosecution/two-tiered justice, he will finally reveal himself to be what he is: bought and paid for.

Since Trump lives in FLA, NY must request an extradiction from DeSantis. If he signs one, his national political future ends.

I have been the conscientious, dutiful voter for over 50 years. I didn't realize until the stolen election that I was merely jumping through the hoops and running on the hamster wheel set up by the deep state. I'm not doing that any more. DeSantis is NOT his own man. He talks a good game, and at the governor level he's OK But all the bills come due at the presidential level and we're just gonna get screwed again. No Trump, no vote. I'm DONE with their game.

I continue to beat my head against the wall that people are acting like elections are as "normal". Run Trump----when they steal it AGAIN, then our side hasn't lost a rising star and FL hasn't lost an excellent Governor. Fix the system or all this is pointless.

#4 Trump can always wave extradiction. I like DeSantis too and for people here to inply he's a RINO in the mold of the Bush's is ridiculous.

Any politician running for power and relying on the largesse of contributors is, by definition, a prostitute. The bigger the bribe, the higher the place in the "pecking" order.

FTA: “ I do take heart in the fact that DeSantis at least fully understands the task in a way that Trump didn’t. Trump knew he faced an enemy, but he never seem to grasp just how pervasive their power is. They own most of the institutions, and he fought them piecemeal as they attacked him. He was a counterpuncher.” Quite true. Obviously very few people, including Trump, knew in 2016 how terrified “the swamp” was by Trump’s victory. Before he took office the deep state termites were frantically destroying his administration’s foundation. DeSantis learned from this and is going on offense. He is racking up wins while Trump, to the great detriment for our country, was stuck in defensive mode. The swamp defeated him. As of yet DeSantis is beating it.

#2, I agree with you and if you believe DeSantis’s donors aren’t doing this for their own agenda and benefit, you are naive. Club for Growth, Chamber of Commerce, the Bushes, Cheney’s, Romney’s, and the rest of that crowd are determined to destroy Trump because he is not like them! He puts the country first, abhors unnecessary wars for profit, and believes the Constitution is correct when it declares the government is of, by and for the people, and believes in protecting our sovereignty. DeSantis’s cabal is a big reason that our country is such danger. They love the status quo even if it is corrupt and lawless. It meets their needs quite nicely. Didn’t your mom ever tell you that you will be judged by the company you keep? Ronnie is cozying up to the wrong crowd.

The Big Apple is ready to batten down the hatches and mobilize 700 riot cops ahead of former President Donald Trump's anticipated arrest early this week. State, city and federal law enforcement agencies have been meeting in recent weeks to discuss how to deal with expected widespread protests following Trump's arrest, as his supporters have already started descending on Trump Tower. The New York Police Department is even considering stationing hundreds of riot cops, the Daily Beast reports, fearing that Trump's arrest may cause both MAGA conservatives and anti-Trump protesters to face off outside Manhattan Criminal Court as he is arraigned.

Ron DeSantis attacked 'Soros-funded' prosecutor Alvin Bragg for creating a 'manufactured circus' in his first comments on rumors Donald Trump will be indicted. The Florida governor made the comments Monday after Trump's inner circle criticized him for staying silent on claims the former president will be arrested in the Stormy Daniels hush money case on Tuesday. It offers a dilemma to Trump's likely rivals for the Republican 2024 nomination: Do they take the opportunity to bash the former president for his indiscretions, or do they steer clear for fear of alienating the vocal, restless party base?

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, the chamber's No. 2 Democrat, said on Sunday that he will quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19, adding to a number of lawmakers from both parties who have been absent from the Senate. "Thankfully, I am fully vaccinated and boosted and only experiencing minor symptoms," Durbin said in a tweet. The Illinois Democrat said he would follow Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, which call for five days of quarantine for those who test positive. Two other Democrats, Senators Dianne Feinstein and John Fetterman, have been absent from the Senate for health reasons. Senate

The mayor of Miami Beach wants to cancel Spring Break as footage emerged of the moment a man was shot dead on a sidewalk during another wild weekend of partying. 'We haven’t asked for spring break in our city. We don’t want spring break in our city. It’s too rowdy, brings too much disorder and is simply too difficult to police,' said Democratic mayor Dan Gelber. The chaotic weekend saw two men shot dead and partygoers jumping on a car, brawling in streets and even trashing a slushie shop on the main drag despite the city instituting a curfew on Sunday night. President Donald Trump reacted to the news of his imminent arrest in New York by pointing out that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office’s “leader is funded by George Soros.” Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg, whom Donald Trump is referring to in his post, was elected in November 2021 with indirect backing from left-wing billionaire George Soros, who gave $1 million to the Color of Change PAC, which spent it to elect Bragg. The Color of Change PAC is a radical activist group that describes itself as “the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.” Fox News reported that Soros has “funneled $40 million dollars into district attorney campaigns nationwide,” including Bragg’s.

President Trump has stated that he will be arrested on Tuesday and we should all take to the streets. Don't do it! Stay home, and let the lawyers handle it. This is a set-up, just like January 6. Don't fall for it. Don't go anywhere near a federal building, don't stand with groups of people you don't know, and don't send threatening emails. Stay home, and let the lawyers deal with it. President Trump has good lawyers, he has great lawyers...he even has had Alan Dershowitz as a lawyer. Trials are meant to be won, by rich people. President Trump is rich. Let him fight his battle.

The requests, and the couple’s apparent holding out until their wishes are granted, may throw the historic event into “chaos,” royal insiders fear. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex — who recently received their invitations to the May 6 ceremony — are still mulling over whether or not they will make the 5,459-mile-long trip. If they do go, the exiled royals will be met with a “cold shoulder” from senior members of the royal family

Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley have been attacked by a number of Trump loyalists for failing to comment on rumors the former president will be arrested on Tuesday. MAGA Republicans have criticized DeSantis and Haley for not speaking out against the Manhattan DA's office for what they claim is a weaponization of the justice system. DeSantis is widely rumored to be preparing to run against Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Haley was the first to enter the race after Trump. Jason Miller, a Trump adviser and the former CEO of right-wing free speech app Gettr noted a 'radio silence' from the two since the rumors gained momentum early on Saturday.
