An American Tourist in Iran – Crazy, Right?

Original Article

No, not crazy at all. Let me explain. A year ago, I wrote about taking the road less traveled and joining my adventure traveling son on a trip to Iraq. This year the destination was next door in Iran. For my son, it is his 154th country and for me a chance for some father-son time off the beaten track.(Photo) There is nothing wrong with a ski or beach vacation, but what an opportunity it is to visit a country that has been prominent in American news since the revolution and hostage crisis in 1979 during the reign of the hapless President Jimmy Carter. Similar to Iraq, the US State Department issues

Fine, Glad you had a nice trip. I'm sure that the everyday Iranian people are wonderful folks. They want a good, safe, peaceful life for themselves and their families. But as long as you realize that when the-brown-stuff-left-by-the-dog-interacts-with-the-electrically-operating-oscillating-cooling-device, you're on your own, whatever.

For a man of science the good doctor showed a remarkable absence of common sense. And to take his son on the trip was an act of complete madness. If the doctor wanted a "road less traveled" he could have gone to Chile, New Zealand, Iceland, the Galapagos, or Nepal. He should thank the good Lord that the Iranians didn't decide to pull a Brittany Griner on him and put him away for an eternity.

When the Iranians decide that he and his son are spies for the Great Satan America, and they are stuck in a gross and disgusting prison, tortured (and worse), and stuck there without any indication when they might be freed -- or, worse, declared guilty and sentenced to be executed -- please don't expect a penny of our tax dollars, or the release of any islam-fascist terrorists in exchange for you!!!!! You are a doctor, so you can't be this stupid of a man!!!!!

#4. You make the big mistake many people make. You assume that because someone has made through medical school, they have common sense and a certain amount of intelligence. I can tell you from years of interaction with people in the medical profession, that becoming a doctor does not exclude them from being incredibly stupid with a total lack of common sense. Now most doctors aren't that way, but you would be surprised how many once out of their confront zone of being in a hospital setting, exhibit the same stupid behavior of a teen-age boy.

His naivete is stunning. Of course an official softened him up with chocolates while interviewing him and sizing him up. His government-certified (employee) guide was verified and undoubtedly gave a complete report on the doctor and his son after they left Iran or periodically if he saw anything fishy in their talk or their conduct. We saw all of this, except the entry interview, during our weeks-long tour of China in 1986 when they opened their long-closed country to much-needed tourism. Joondoph doesn’t mention it I wonder if his guide had a sidekick (minder) to keep him on the straight and narrow. Joondoph is now an American propagandist for a fake Iran where they convinced him that “Death to America” is their equivalent to our “God Bless America”....

Agree - very naive. Persian history may be interesting, but settle on looking at on-line photographs. Also, you can easily find Persian restaurants in LA. Iranian authorities can and do arrest people and toss them in prison on nonsensical charges all the time.

Remember when Chuck Schumer cared about New York? Or at least pretended he did? This was before he became majority leader of the US Senate — a pretty big deal, though of precious little benefit to the folks back home. With New York City staggering under the $5-million-a-day cost of sheltering President Biden’s migrants, it seems Schumer might engage more energetically on border integrity. Not at all. And now Chuck-from-Brooklyn appears to care more about crime in Washington than he does about the mayhem in his hometown.

A top House Republican investigator is demanding that a Treasury Department official appear for a transcribed interview related to the department’s refusal to hand over suspicious activity reports on Hunter Biden. Rep. President Joe Biden condemned House Republicans on Wednesday for allowing Fox News host Tucker Carlson to access and air previously unseen security footage of January 6 that showed police officers appearing to stand by passively as people poured into the U.S. Capitol. The rebuke from the president came in response to an internal memo from U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger which criticized “Tucker Carlson Tonight” for broadcasting some of the video and commentary he claimed was offensive and misleading. (Video) “More than 140 officers were injured on Jan 6,” Biden said in a tweet. “I’ve said before: How dare anyone diminish or deny

Of course, ABC gave no real attention to the pro-life cause, aside from a single sentence that ended the two-minute-and-46-second segment that summarized a statement from the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).
