Kadena Air Base, Japan — The US Navy reconnaissance jet flies at 21,500 feet over the South China Sea, 30 miles from the contested Paracel Islands, a group of about 130 small atolls, the biggest of which are home to Chinese military bases. A voice, saying it’s coming from a People’s Liberation Army (PLA) airport, crackles over the radio of the US Navy P-8 Poseidon as a CNN crew, given rare access aboard the US flight, listens in. “American aircraft. Chinese airspace is 12 nautical miles. Not approaching any more or you bear all responsibility,” it says. In a few minutes, a Chinese fighter jet armed with air-to-air missiles intercepts the US plane,

Biden is going to push us into WWIII. Our enemies know we are as weak as we ever have been under this illegitimate regime and they will take advantage of our weakness. Can you even begin to imagine the gift the democrat party, lying media, and status quo Republican elites have given to our enemies? Each one of those entities chastised and ridiculed anyone who dared to suggest that the 2020 election had serious anomalies that should have been taken seriously. Biden was declared the victor and has proceeded to weaken our military, sow dangerous division in every aspect of the culture, destroy our economy, failed to secure our border and time after time has managed to approach any crisis with abject incompetence. Our enemies have taken note and are going to take advantage. God help us. We have never been so weak and vulnerable and this nightmare may have been avoided. We now are living proof that when good men do nothing evil triumphs.

Standard ops. These encounters are characterized as safe/unsafe, and professional/unprofessional. Nearly 100% of the time, it is safe/professional. An example of unsafe/unprofessional was in April 2001 when a Chinese fighter pilot decided to shake up an EP-3 with his wake turbulence. He approached the EP-3 from underneath, on the same course, then abruptly pulled up in front of the US Navy aircraft. He misjudged how close he was to the EP-3, and took off part of the radome and one of the props. The Chinese jet broke up and pilot did not survive the encounter, and the crippled EP-3 had to make an emergency landing on Hainan Island. The crew was eventually returned, and the EP-3 was returned in pieces after the Chinese had examined it.

Ho many of these atolls were turned into islands by the Chinese so they could be used as airfields for military fighters, and how come the environmentalists weren't up in arms over it.

#3 and #5 are right on target. They have been making "islands" in the South China Sea so they can claim them as Chinese. Meanwhile, the Vegetable is sending BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of dollars he does not have the authority to give away of YOUR tax dollars that are being borrowed from the Chinese to Ukraine-- they are using up the weaons we send them at a pace each day of what it takes A MONTH to produce here!!! The Vegetable is WEAKENING the U.S. at an alarming rate!!! So far, Ukraine has used so much war materiel that it would take 14 YEARS to replace it back into inventory should U.S. have need to use it....... After Afghanistan, they can now disassemble and recreate OUR technology just as Iran did our high-tech drone, and the Loral space guidance system that BJ Clinton allowed to happen back in the 1990's..... On National Defense, the demonrat socialists are SELLING YOU OUT!!!! Allowing ILLEGAL invaders to cross the border unimpeded... strangling inflation making everyone's dollars worth less... worthless! When will these people be called to account???

Those man made "islands" were shallow reefs marked only as navigation hazards until a few years ago. And now the ChiComs call them "land" and "part of China"....even though they are often a hundred miles or more from ACTUAL China. Their claims a specious, fraudulent and we do not recognize them at all. And we continue to fly where we choose to fly over what has always been open ocean.

Hogwash, #2, pure and simple. This sort of cat and mouse, and a lot worse, frankly, has been going on for the last 80 years between the Soviets and USA, and now China wants to play tough guy with their fraudulent "sovereign territory" baloney. They are not going to do anything violent. They HOPE to intimidate us into recognizing their theft of open ocean, and the control of fishing and oil resources on the seabed nearby....all the way to the mainland.

Trump, Haley to battle for spotlight at CPAC 6 replies

Former President Trump and his ex-United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley are set to give dueling addresses at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) next week, putting a sharp focus on the ongoing tug-of-war within the GOP. It’ll be the first time since Haley launched her presidential bid last week that the two declared major Republican 2024 contenders will pitch their candidacies at the same event. And while few Republicans expect Trump and Haley to go after each other directly, they say that it could offer one of the clearest examples yet of the simmering tensions within the party.

Only willful blindness would prevent anybody from at least suspecting that the COVID virus originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. And by suspecting, I mean believing that the virus’ emergence into the human population likely resulted from a lab leak. Unless the Chinese admit that this is the case we may never have definitive proof, but other scenarios strain credulity. So it is no surprise that yet another government agency has concluded that COVID likely originated in a lab. This time it is the Department of Energy, which has surprising resources directly related to making such a judgment. "We haven't put the criteria out, but I expect a pledge will be part of it. It was part of 2016. I think it's kind of a no-brainer, right? If you're going to be on the Republican National Committee debate stage asking voters to support you, you should say, 'I'm going to support the voters and who they choose as the nominee,'" McDaniel told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union"

The Covid-19 pandemic most likely originated from a laboratory leak, according to a classified intelligence report from the U.S. Energy Department. The report, which was included in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines’s office, was recently provided to the White House and other lawmakers. Sources told the Wall Street Journal that the updated assessment from the Energy Department is the result of new intelligence. The Energy Department, which oversees a network of U.S. national laboratories, made its judgment with “low confidence,” the Wall Street Journal reported. The assessment marks a change from 2021, when the department was undecided on how the virus originated.

When Bernie Sanders’ supporters took over the Nevada Democratic Party two years ago, progressives across the country were thrilled. Socialists had managed to bring down one of the most powerful establishment forces in the nation, the famed Democratic machine built by former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. They saw it as a blueprint for the progressive transformation of state parties. Two years after the experiment began, there are regrets. Judith Whitmer, the insurgent party chair who wrested control of the party from mainstream Democrats, is facing a challenge in her reelection campaign next month amid doubts from her own former supporters and accusations that she abandoned her progressive principles.
