AI Hawley: ‘No More Welfare for Europeans
— Let the Europeans Take the Lead on Europe’

Friday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) indicated his souring on the U.S. involvement in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The Missouri Republican called on Europe to take on a larger role while the United States handled its domestic challenges, including the aftermath of the East Palestine, OH rail derailment. “I mean, the truth is that Joe Biden, and let’s face it, congressional Republicans have spent over $100 billion and counting on the Ukraine war, and meanwhile, the folks in East Palestine have poison in the water, poison in the air. It is clear that our infrastructure in this country is crumbling, and

Europe has some very wealthy countries that can pay for themselves. And they can take their Klaus Schwab's, climate hoaxes, EV's, "vaccines", and bugs for meat, and keep it to themselves. Take Meghan and Harry, and George Soros back. You have dropped the democracy facade, as I see your citizens in the streets. You are no longer anything recognizable from the past with your muslim invasions. Good luck to you! I want nothing to do with Europe, and will never go there.

The reality that we paid the bill for protection in Europe allowed them to use the money they should have spent themselves on their massive welfare social programs. They are so hooked on those programs that to cut them off is going to cause some serious hurt for several of those nations. Trump was right when he started demanding that Europe should start paying for their own security. A little late, but it is nice to see Hawley saying the same stuff.

Hawley is right. The prime principle of ANY United States government should be America and Americans first. It's sad that it even needs to be discussed, but the fact is at this time we have an UNAMERICAN government hostile to the American people that puts everyone BUT Americans first. If a foreign power did to the United States what the Biden Administration and the Democrats have done it would be considered acts of war.

But...but...but Zippy spent all those BILLION$$$ on the infrastructure a few years ago. Whu'happen? Remember all the 'shovel ready' projects and get a belly laugh. I have posted this previously, sorry if you have already seen it. Times Beach was a small town west of St. Louis on Highway44. They hired someone to put oil on their dirt streets, oil was contaminated with Dioxin and the whole town had to be shut down. Are the people in East Palestine really expected to live in that wholly contaminated area? I was reading Dioxin was one of the chemicals that was created by the burning of the other chemicals in those rail cars. Their air, water, ground and everything else is contaminated. Their lives will be shortened from this disaster.

I totally agree with Sen. Hawley. Enough is enough! We have gone above and beyond when it comes to helping. Now someone can take over. We should be done! We hear that Social Security and Medicare should be cut because we can't afford it. We can afford to throw money around like it's blank paper, but we can't take care of our Seniors who have worked their entire life and deserve the Little Bit they now allow Seniors? What's wrong with that picture. We need to take care of our own country and the way for that to happen is to kick Biden and His Band or Merry Men to the Curb and elect a Republican President, House, Senate and as many Governorships as possible. MAYBE then we have a chance to turn this Country around. Fire all the AG's backed by Soros and kick Soros out of the country. Take some of that money that Biden wants to give to Ukraine and rebuild our Military! We're going to need them!!

To add to #3’s post, I lived in Brussels in 1981-82 and it was a socialist mess even back then. Every few weeks or months, the government would fall and a new one would have to be created to replace it. There were “no nukes” posters plastered all over the city which condemned President Reagan because we placed missiles in Europe which were aimed at the USSR. And those welfare programs which #3 mentions were what shocked me the most - Belgians got a month of government paid vacation every year, even if they were unemployed! So, if you spent your life as a layabout living on the welfare dole, you got 13 months of benefits every year. And the country was already beginning to have problems with Muslims because they were importing Turks to do the farm work which the layabouts refused to do. Sound familiar? It’s about 40 years past time for us to cut Europe loose. Sound familiar?

Our Congress - both parties - provides monies for future pension benefits for Ukrainians while many of our own citizens - which includes military families - presently have to go to food banks to feed their families. The war between Russia and Ukraine primarily benefits two factions: the arms industry now and the construction industry to repair the war damage afterwards. Meanwhile, the powers that be have decided that it is no problem if we are left to fight a war with bows and arrows after emptying our stockpile arming Ukraine with our weaponry. The priorities of those in positions of power are ignorant and dangerous to us all.

Okay, I have to confess that Matt Yglesias definitely didn’t say what my headline does exactly. The word snowflake does not appear in his latest essay but I do think that’s a close approximation of his actual argument. And here I want to say that, while I may appear to be mocking it a bit, his piece is actually really good and worth reading. I’m not writing about it because I think it’s outrageous or wrong. I’m writing about it because I think it’s insightful and probably right. So there backdrop for this is the discussion that has been bouncing around lately about why teenagers, especially teen girls, are so depressed.

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis explained why he went to war with the Disney corporation in a Wall Street Journal op-ed late Tuesday. The governor signed legislation revoking Disney’s special privileges and self-governing status established under the 1967 Reedy Creek Improvement Act. The new legislation, HB 9-B, established a new-state controlled district, a five-member state control board and requires the corporation to pay taxes to the state. DeSantis wrote in the op-ed that Disney’s special status is an “indefensible example of corporate welfare” that allowed the corporation to violate state fire safety codes and use eminent domain on private property outside of its district.

During a Tuesday Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Attorney General Merrick Garland refused to take responsibility for the Department of Justice’s failure to prosecute protesters who regularly demonstrate outside the homes of conservative Supreme Court justices, arguing that the federal marshals on the ground have the discretion to arrest the protesters and have chosen not to. In his first appearance before the 118th Congress, Garland was grilled by Republican senators about the Department of Justice’s failure to enforce a federal law that prohibits protests outside the homes of judges and jurors, who might be intimidated into changing their thinking on pending cases in response to such displays.

Russia has lost a large-scale tank battle for Vuhledar in Donetsk Oblast, getting ambushed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine — just as it did during the attack when using tank convoys at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Source: The New York Time Quote: "In the extended battle, both sides sent tanks into the fray, rumbling over dirt roads and manoeuvring around tree lines, with the Russians thrusting forward in columns and the Ukrainians manoeuvring defensively, firing from a distance or from hideouts as Russian convoys came into their sights. When it was over, not only had Russia failed to capture Vuhledar, but it also had made the same mistake

A multi-year U.S. intelligence review has deemed it "very unlikely" that a foreign adversary is behind the mysterious neurological symptoms known as "Havana Syndrome" that have been reported by more than a thousand American officials since 2016, eliminating a leading theory shared by some victims and lawmakers that U.S. personnel were being targeted by a hostile government. The unclassified assessment, released Wednesday by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), reflected the views of seven agencies that participated in the inquiry. "Most [intelligence community] agencies have concluded that it is 'very unlikely' a foreign adversary is responsible for the reported AHIs,"

The non-partisan government watchdog found that the U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI properly identified credible threats to the Capitol in the lead-up to the January 6 protest that turned into a riot but did not share information about those threats. There were 10 federal agencies responsible for protecting the Capitol that day and none of them fully processed or shared critical information about threats to the Capitol with each other.
