Fast food lovers are deeply divided over Chick-fil-A's launch of a new cauliflower sandwich, with some welcoming the addition, while others reacted in horror to the 77-year-old chain 'going woke'. The Atlanta, Georgia-based family firm announced on February 13 that they were trialling the new plant-based sandwich in three locations: Denver, Colorado; Charleston, South Carolina, and Greensboro, North Carolina.  The $7 sandwich - contains no meat, but is not considered fully vegetarian 'due to its cooking environment,' Chick-fil-A said. A regular Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich can cost as little as $3.05 in cities where the plant-based newbie is being triale.d  Cauliflower is breaded and fried in peanut oil,

It ought to be half or less than the real equivalent. It costs very little to raise grass and cabbage.

Yeah, this is not going to go well. People who eat plant-based sandwiches tend to be lie-berals in most cases. Lie-berals already hate Chick-fil-A. I doubt a cauliflower sandwich is going to change that. I don't have a problem with them trying this, though I certainly won't be trying this (even if they offer me a free one). But it sure wreaks of a company not knowing their base customers very well.

If no one buys it they will drop it. After all these years I'm still waiting for them to bring back their slaw. Now if they said they were dropping their chicken sandwich and serving the cauliflower sandwich to save the world that would be woke. This probably just ends up being a stupid business mistake. Who in their right mind goes to CFA for a cauliflower sandwich? Mickey D's figured that out. If I find out they are sneaking ground bug powder into their mac 'n cheese then I will walk away.

"Meat" made from plants tastes yucky. The first, last and only time I've ever been in a Chick-Fil-A, the chicken on my plate was an odd grey color. Have not been back.

Restaurants try different menu items all the time, some make the cut, many don’t. They must perceive some demand for a non-meat sandwich and are trying to fill it, this is the essence of the free market economy in action. There is lots of woke stuff out there to be concerned about, this isn’t.

First, a lot of us will remember CFA's fan base probably quadrupled 2012. I guess when the founder Truett Cathy died, his son decided he was tired of being burdened by Christian ethics. Oh well, as Sinatra sang, ''riding high in April, shot down in May.'' Second, maybe this time the liberals can save his ''bacon.'' Too bad, since the chicken chain was among the very first in this area to put gluten-free bread on the menu. That's one less app for the old antique cell phone.

Dan even publicly polished the sneakers of the black rapper Lecrae. If libs go to Chick-fil-A at all, a veggie sandwich is right up their street.

Has anyone in this chain looked to see that there are many people out there that are Gluten Intolerant. My wife is and it is a pain in the arse to put together something she can eat. Is it possible that Chic-A-Fill had that in mind. Huh? Dominoes Pizza offers a gluten free pizza that she loves because she can’t get one anywhere else. Most supermarkets have gluten free breads, pasta and pastries that are frozen. Yes, it is a bit pricey. But, it is worth it to nut see her get sick. Think twice then sit on it for a while before attacking a business that is providing something that is edible. You don’t have to buy that sandwich. For those that reply without reading the whole article don’t research all I have to say is shove it.

We have the worst border crisis in history, and the Biden administration insists that our southern border is secure. This disconnect between the narrative and reality is the reason why Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is currently facing potential impeachment. Yet, after watching his interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace, it all makes sense. “Our goal is to achieve operational control of the border, to do everything that we can to support our personnel with the resources, the technology, the policies that really advance the security of the border, and do not come at the cost of the values of our country,” Mayorkas told Wallace.

Two recent news stories converge into one urgent plea. One is the alarming and well-covered story of the Chinese spy balloon. The other: At 23 Baltimore public schools (out of 150), zero students tested proficient in math. That includes 10 high schools. Not surprisingly, this story received far less coverage, including none in The New York Times. Also ignored was the follow-up news: 77% of Baltimore high-school students read only at elementary-school grade levels. Ignored too was the copy-cat story for Chicago: that of 649 Windy City public schools, 22 have zero students grade-level proficient in reading, and 33 have zero grade-level proficient in math.

A priceless treasure hoard buried by a family fleeing the Second World War has been found 80 years later by the next generation. The Glazewski family buried their silver and fled their estate in eastern Poland in September 1939 after hearing that the Russians were invading. Only Adam, the head of the family, stayed behind to face the Russians, who threw him off his land, and nearly executed him before his staff intervened. Faced with a life under Soviet rule, his four sons never returned to their home near Lviv - formerly part of Poland, today part of Ukraine - and settled around the world.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is coming under fire over disasters ranging from the airlines’ holiday meltdown to the train wreck that has spilled chemicals in Ohio — and critics are blaming his cozy ties with the industries he’s supposed to regulate. Outrage over US air chaos spilled into President Biden’s State of the Union Address earlier this month. The commander-in-chief vowed to crack down on excessive fees, saying “airlines can’t treat your child like a piece of baggage” and demanded that “airlines show you the full ticket price upfront and refund your money if your flight is canceled or delayed.”

The Biden administration is preparing to sign up the United States to a “legally binding” accord with the World Health Organization (WHO) that would give this Geneva-based UN subsidiary the authority to dictate America’s policies during a pandemic. The average person can’t describe the daily responsibilities of the secretary of transportation or even name the figure who holds that position — until our transportation infrastructure fails, that is. As far as cushy political appointments go, it’s on the thankless end of the spectrum. At least that was the case before Pete Buttigieg ascended to the role in 2021. Now the secretary of transportation is both a political celebrity and someone immune to meaningful criticism over our country’s transportation failures — and there have been many.Though the left rarely misses an opportunity to announce that “the adults are back in charge,” Buttigieg’s failures suggest otherwise.

A major power outage caused by a fire at an electrical substation shut down the Oakland Airport in Northern California Sunday evening.  More than 50,000 customers in the Bay Area were impacted and flights out of the area were halted after a fire broke out at a Pacific Gas and Electric substation around 1pm.  Photos and videos posted on social media show stranded passengers at the airport waiting at their gates and to get through security which was shut down for hours.  A representative for PG&E confirmed the widespread outage on Twitter just after 2.50pm Pacific Standard Time and say they are 'currently investigating the details.'

Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk ripped the Department of Defense on Sunday after it tweeted that “diversity is a strategic imperative.” The DOD tweeted on Saturday, “Diversity is a strategic imperative critical to mission readiness and accomplishment. We were on site for the 2023 inaugural [Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion] Summit as DEIA experts led forums to advance the DEIA and DoD mission — because our people matter.” Musk responded, “Your strategic imperative is defending the United States.” The summit, according to an earlier tweet, took place February 15-17, and featured “distinguished presenters, renowned experts in government, higher education, business, science, and technology.”
