A major power outage caused by a fire at an electrical substation shut down the Oakland Airport in Northern California Sunday evening.  More than 50,000 customers in the Bay Area were impacted and flights out of the area were halted after a fire broke out at a Pacific Gas and Electric substation around 1pm.  Photos and videos posted on social media show stranded passengers at the airport waiting at their gates and to get through security which was shut down for hours.  A representative for PG&E confirmed the widespread outage on Twitter just after 2.50pm Pacific Standard Time and say they are 'currently investigating the details.'

The hosts of ABC’s midday talk show “The View” — including new Republican co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin — were all in agreement on Wednesday when they attacked House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for giving thousands of hours of January 6 footage to Fox News host Tucker Carlson. The women on the panel voiced their concerns — ranging from complaints about the fact that Carlson works for Fox News to worries that anyone releasing the footage could give potential terrorists access to information about Capitol security. Joy Behar led the charge, attacking Carlson and Fox News directly.

As I reported earlier, while Joe Biden was in Ukraine giving a lot of our money away and staging air raid sirens to make himself look tough, former President Donald Trump was going to East Palestine, Ohio, to listen to and help Americans who are in crisis. They need to know that people care about what’s happening there. A train derailment there about three weeks ago resulted in contamination of the area, and the reaction from the federal government has been painfully slow. Joe Biden hasn’t even mentioned it, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg had to be shamed into caring, finally saying on Wednesday that he would be going there

President Joe Biden had quite an end to his trip Wednesday evening, stumbling up the stairs of Air Force One again, as he headed back to the United States after a three-day visit to Europe that included stops in Ukraine and Poland. The president, 80, memorably fell up the stairs of Air Force One just two months into his administration in March 2021. In June, he also fell off his bike while spending a weekend away in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.   Additionally, a female White House staffer fell down the stairs of Air Force One as Biden arrived in Warsaw late Monday, after his travels to Kyiv.
