Just when we were starting to really like Kevin McCarthy he defends the cold-blooded killer who shot Ashli Babbitt dead in the US Capitol. During questioning on Thursday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was asked if he thought Ashli Babbitt was murdered by Officer Mike Byrd? McCarthy answered the reported, “I think the officer was doing his job.” Apparently, shooting a 100-pound female Trump supporter in the neck without warning is “doing his job.”

Well, yeah, McCarthy is right. Byrd was doing his job, As a hitman for Nancy Pelosi. I hope that officer is no longer anywhere near the Capitol.

Have a cop gun down an unarmed 110lb woman trying to rob a 7 11 without any warning or threat to life and limb and try to call that a righteous kill. Guess where the street LEO will end up. McCarthy proving exactly what he is.

Oh yea Kev, cause Ashley Babbitt, a United States Veteran, was armed and was shooting the joint up. She aimed her weapon at everyone and needed to be stopped. Byrd is a hero....except the "hero" shot an unarmed person. Who was not a threat to anyone, Not even to officer Byrd who was hiding by the stair well, and as soon as he shot Ashley (say her name!) hid back under the stairs so no one could see him. What a guy, Byrd along with all the other capitol police who know the truth, and will not stand up for truth are nothing but cowards. Probably rich cowards, but still cowards. Who do have to answer to God Almighty, for eternity

Wrong non-answer. Take a side Kevdogg. You know she was no imminent lethal threat to anyone and that the cop that shot her was out of the line of duty by drawing his weapon and shooting her. Kevin McCarthy most likely did not want to anger the Capitol Police who protect him. But McCarthy certainly tripped over his tongue when he made his remarks about the killing of Babbitt, as there has not, as far as is known, even been any sort of a competent investigation into that killing, that is routine they days all over the USA anytime a law enforcement officer kills a member of the public.

The 1960s revolution was both anarchic and nihilist. But it was waged against—not from—the establishment. Hippies and the Left either attacked institutions or, in Timothy Leary fashion, chose to “turn on, tune in, drop out” from them. The current revolution is much different—and far more dangerous—for at least three reasons. The current Left has no intention of “dropping out.” Why would it? It now controls the very institutions of America that it once mocked and attacked—corporate boardrooms, Wall Street, state and local prosecuting attorneys, most big-city governments, the media, the Pentagon, network and most of cable news, professional sports, Hollywood, music, television, K-12 education, and academia.

If you are trying to make sense of how our nation has become so toxic, a good starting point is the Supreme Court’s 1964 decision in New York Times v. Sullivan. That case radically altered existing law so that, for the first time in our history, it was impossible for any “public figure” to bring a successful defamation suit. There can be no better example of the horrid effect of that decision than a recent race-based defamation against Governor Ron DeSantis. Poverty in America is so bad that some people can barely afford their cell phones. In much of the rest of the world, poor people starve to death, or die of what in America are ordinary, survivable diseases or injuries. In America, injustice is so bad that many lawyers appointed by the court cannot get their clients acquitted of the crimes they committed, and must settle for a plea bargain. Elsewhere, to be accused is to be found guilty and imprisoned in hell-hole cellars, innocence being irrelevant to the courts of so-called justice.

Joe Biden praised the Top Gun fighter jet pilot who shot down the Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina today after he vowed to 'take care of it.' An F-22 Raptor out of Langley Air Force base took the balloon down with a single AIM-9X sidewinder missile at 2.38pm, separating its surveillance payload and sending it plummeting towards the ocean off Myrtle Beach. Footage showed the jet screaming towards the spy aircraft before firing the missile as stunned locals watched from the coast.  An operation was underway to recover the wreckage and retrieve any valuable intelligence before it sinks into the ocean.

Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took a below-the-belt shot at one of her congressional colleagues Friday in a spicy Twitter exchange. The Georgia Republican invoked Rep. Eric Swalwell’s (D-Calif.) purported dalliance with suspected Chinese honeytrap Christine Fang, aka Fang Fang, after the California Democrat made a bawdy joke at the expense of Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.), who has spent the week passing out AR-15-shaped lapel pins to pro-Second Amendment House members.

Washington - The U.S. military on Saturday shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon off the Carolina coast after it traversed sensitive military sites across North America. China insisted the flyover was an accident involving a civilian aircraft and threatened repercussions. President Joe Biden issued the order but had wanted the balloon downed even earlier, on Wednesday. He was advised that the best time for the operation would be when it was over water, U.S. officials said. Military officials determined that bringing it down over land from an altitude of 60,000 feet would pose an undue risk to people on the ground. China responded

The U.S. was able to collect valuable information on China’s surveillance capabilities while observing the spy balloon as it traversed the continental U.S. for several days, a senior military official and senior defense official claimed Saturday. President Joe Biden asked for possible military options for removing the threat of the suspected Chinese spy balloon Tuesday, but the Department of Defense (DOD) opted against doing so Wednesday over concerns falling debris could endanger civilians, officials said at a briefing Saturday. However, they did not clarify whether a military option was considered when the craft transgressed U.S. airspace over Alaska’s Aleutian Islands on Jan. 28,

So we begin with a bit of a biographical note. Like many writers at PJ Media, I work from home. There was a knock at my door this morning, and I noticed a police vehicle outside. As we are law-abiding people, that was out of the ordinary. At my door was the animal control officer. That seemed odd since our dogs stay in the backyard and don’t roam around the neighborhood. The issue that warranted said knock on my door was the fact that I had inadvertently left one of our dogs out a little longer than usual.

The United States could bring down the Chinese surveillance balloon currently flying eastward across the country by shooting it with a laser, which would cause it to gradually descend without inflicting serious damage to civilians on the ground, according to an aerospace specialist. The Defense Department previously ruled out shooting down the balloon, which was first spotted earlier this week in Montana, saying that its size could cause a debris field large enough to harm Americans. But Art Thompson, CEO of California-based company Sage Cheshire Aerospace which provides stratospheric balloon launching and research services, believes that a “semi-controlled descent” could be a solution.

One of the unsavory aspects of our current era is that firing a member of a "protected class" — racial and sexual minorities, plus women of any race — almost inevitably leads to cries of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. When a person is a "twofer" ticking two boxes indicating presumptively oppressed status, you need a bulletproof list of offenses to charge the target with. Don Lemon, the low-rated Black and gay host on CNN, was booted from his prime-time gig to the morning hours and has managed to drive the ratings for CNN This Morning even lower than the cable net previously had scored in those hours.

Bloomberg, which exists to serve active traders on Wall Street, is throwing shade on the January jobs report that “surprised” a lot of people with its positive numbers. Before addressing the technical factors used to produce the rosy numbers, consider the buried lede hundreds of words into the piece. Stripped of all the technical jargon is this stark reality: "On an unadjusted basis, payrolls actually fell by 2.5 million last month."
