Judge upholds Whole Foods’s firing of
workers who wore Black Lives Matter masks

Original Article

federal judge on Monday tossed a lawsuit from three former Whole Foods employees alleging the grocery chain unlawfully retaliated against them for opposing a workplace ban on Black Lives Matter masks. U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs granted summary judgment in favor of Whole Foods, finding it didn’t treat the workers differently than similarly situated ones who violated its dress code policy when the chain stepped up enforcement in mid-2020.

Comments:

The owner of Whole Foods not a woke jerk like many of the corporations in the US.

Back in the mask heyday of 2021 I went to Walmart to return an item. One of the workers had on a BLM mask and I had on just a plain old white one. The next day made it a point to wear my MAGA mask that my wife got me for Christmas in 2020. I could tell by the workers eyes and body language that she didn't appreciate my little counterbalance. At least Whole Foods isn't run by a bunch of woke numbskulls unlike Walmart.

A correct ruling. If employees don't like Whole Foods policies, let them start their own company. It won't last long.

Whole Foods is about as hippy-dippy a woke store as you can find -- catering primarily to limousine lie-berals, since all that "organic" and "natural" food is not cheap. I went there a couple of times, and never found anything that interested me in the least. But it's also a for-profit company, and the ownership quickly realized that the BLM garbage was going to turn off a lot of customers (who are fine with the BLM thugs as long as they don't have to deal with them in their cities). So they nipped it in the bud. I hope those woke employees are going to enjoy paying all those legal fees for this frivolous case for years to come -- as I am pretty confident that, no matter how sleazy they might be, no lawyer would take a hopeless case like this on contingent!!!!!

FTA: “The disputes gained significant media attention, and a group of employees who wore the masks filed a civil rights lawsuit against the Amazon-owned business in July 2020.” I’m surprised and delighted, as posters here have noted, that Amazon is not “woke” company. I’m glad to know that.

Yes, #8. I occasionally shop at WF, as there are things I can get there that I can’t get in your average grocery store. But, you are so correct about your typical WF shoppers. They are either dressed like a fashion model or like an upscale hippy, complete with hemp clothing and Jesus sandals…with socks. They are not friendly, and rarely make any eye contact with the unwashed. And, best yet, they all drive SUVs.

The much-anticipated numbers reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday revealed that while it ticked down by one-tenth of a percentage point, inflation is still higher than anticipated and defying the Federal Reserve's aggressive interest rate hikes. Worse, "core inflation," which strips out volatile food and energy prices, rose sharply in September. On an annual basis, it rose to a whopping 6.6%, the highest since 1982.

An elevated rate of Bell’s palsy was identified among elderly people after vaccination with a Pfizer booster shot, U.S. regulators said in a new study. The “small but statistically significant elevation” in Bell’s palsy was detected after vaccination with Pfizer’s old booster, which is no longer available in the United States, researchers with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a preprint study. The elevated rate resulted in an adjusted incidence rate ratio of 1.13 and remained consistent when researchers adjusted for different factors, such as prior COVID-19 infection. A rate above one shows a possible connection between the vaccine and an adverse event.
