The War on Competence

Decades ago, the Left played the class-war game. These days it’s a war on competence and achievement, hiding beyond claims of racial and sexual equity. In Virginia, we are to believe that on their own, high school administrators in seventeen schools decided not to inform those of their students who had scored high enough on their scholastic aptitude tests to be named National Merit semi-finalists. Of course, it was not coincidental. Two factors are involved: The spurious claim that schools can achieve the impossible -- equal outcomes for all -- a claim which must not be challenged by contrary facts; and prejudice against high-achieving students -- most likely,

Despite the title of this piece, the truth may be found in the article itself. What we are witnessing is a war on white people. "Diverse" simply means, "not white." The sad fact is that there are many white people who, for reasons that are too perverse for me to fathom, support this war. There have always been traitors in every society, I suppose.

Go ahead and find Ayanna Pressley's photo. Why isn't she one of Biden's Cabinet? The overall decline in academic prowess could be ''weather related.'' Snowflakes can't find enough comfort in the exchange of vibrant debate. Poor babies! It just isn't safe for sissies out in the real world. Thanks to Clarice for the new word: excrescence. (i.e, a distinct outgrowth on a human, animal, or on a plant. Unnatural.)

Compliance to the Deep State relies on its populace's ignorance and stupidity. So how else to maintain power is don't educate your citizens. Give them circuses and occasional atta-boys and offer them bugs to eat. Yep the current Deep State in action.

#2 languge, communication, comprehension, how does "excrescence" translate to hoi polloi? The average American will not bother to seek the meaning nor comprehend much of the essay if they read it. As is so often bemoaned here. the general public is "dumbed down" to the point that their vocabulary is limited - and English is quickly becoming a second or third language. Meanwhile "journalists" impress each other with their thesaurus searching abilities. I regarded Buckley as knowledgeable but tedious; most of his philosoohy was lost in his exacting word choices. Damn he's smart! What the hell did he just say? Sadly, until ideas are expressed and events are reported in the simple language familiar to the commoners most will remain ignorant or, in the current venacular, "mis-informed" May I add. We are becoming "Balkanized", a "Tower of Babel". Ukraine is an unfortunate example.

The silver-plate lining of this cloud is that the Chinese may stop sending their best to universities here since they will not be given affirmative blessing by the current hall monitors of equity.

Some IQ tests do not feature reading, writing, or arithmetic. They simply measure a person's ability to put a square peg into a square hole. This, of course, is an over simplification. Test takers are asked to reassemble jumbled figures and objects turning chaos into order. This can require spatial imagination, turning a rhombus into trapezoids with parts left over...you get the idea. No matter where in the world these tests are administered, the results are depressingly the same. Whites and Asians score in close proximity, northeast Asians a bit even higher, and other demographic groups no matter which continent they live on are always at the bottom. Persons with no formal education at all have been measured, the results still remain the same. IQ is not a test of "whiteness."

Her husband Alec Baldwin has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for his 2021 shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, but on Friday, Baldwin’s wife Hilaria demonstrated that even in crisis, she keeps a calm, steady focus on what’s important: as she pleaded with reporters to leave her husband and family alone, she maintained the fake Spanish accent that she has displayed on numerous occasions in the past, despite being harshly criticized for the fact that she isn’t Spanish at all.

Joe Biden takes classified documents very seriously, so he says, but even after the search for classified documents has allegedly ended a couple of times now, it’s not yet over. In the wake of more documents being discovered at Biden’s home in Wilmington, Del., the Department of Justice is now considering expanding its search for classified documents Biden may have absconded with, according to a report from CBS News. “Justice Department officials are also considering the possibility of conducting other consensual searches at locations linked to Mr. Biden, said the source

A celebration of the Lunar New Year in Monterey Park, Calif., turned tragic on Saturday evening as a gunman wielding what witnesses claimed was a “machine gun” entered a ballroom dance facility downtown and opened fire. Authorities say 10 people died, and at least 16 more were wounded. The suspect fled the scene and is still at large. No motive was given. Monterey Park is a majority Asian community, and the area where the shooting occurred was crowded with families celebrating the Lunar New Year. While some are quick — even eager — to blame the mass shooting on anti-Asian

For all Joe Biden’s talk about “semi-fascist” and “un-American,” “ultra-MAGA” Republicans, it is the Democratic Party that has far more radically changed. It is descended into a woke, neo-socialist, radically green party. And it is committed, as Barack Obama once promised, to fundamentally transforming America. How it proceeds with that agenda is now as entirely predictable as it is creepy. Election Warping Before any presidential or midterm election, strict news suppression ensures that all bad news will follow, not precede, the voting. The New York Times has long ago abandoned any pretense of being an actual news source and has settled into its role as the foremost propaganda arm of the hard Left, capitalizing upon the fact that there is still a considerable number of people in the U.S. and around the world who still think that the Times can be trusted to report events impartially and accurately. In reality, the only thing the Times is good for is revealing what the political and media elites are thinking, and a Friday opinion piece dropped a bombshell, in the Times’ muted, bloodless Voice-of-the-Ages manner:

Bankman-Fried was arrested on criminal fraud charges in December and is released on a $250 million bond as he awaits trial. New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced on Thursday, following a yearlong investigation, that Alec Baldwin would be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins—who was killed by Baldwin on the set of the movie Rust. It’s hard to say what Baldwin’s fate will be. Will he be convicted? Will he serve time? Who can say at this point? But one thing that is clear is that Halyna Hutchins would be alive today if Alex Baldwin were politically conservative, and he wouldn’t have the legal problems he has now, which threaten his career and his life.

Clyburn, who has been in House Democrat leadership for years, reportedly speaks with the president regularly and has been credited for helping Biden win their party’s primary during the 2020 presidential election. His endorsement of Biden in the primary ultimately helped him over the finish line after suffering multiple early-state losses.

Dozens of House Democrats have proposed legislation that would eliminate the debt ceiling, which would allow the government to borrow without any limit set by Congress. The federal government hit the $31.381 trillion debt ceiling last week, and House Republicans are pushing for commitments to cut back on the record growth in federal spending before agreeing to allow more borrowing. But Democrats accuse Republicans of setting up the possibility of prohibiting a debt ceiling hike, which would make the government unable to fund all of its current obligations. Democrats say a better idea is to eliminate all limits on federal borrowing and allow
