Television journalist Barbara Walters has died at 93 years old, ABC News reported Friday night. Walters was a pioneer in the field, and she rose to national fame in the 1970s as the first woman to anchor a nightly news show. According to the outlet, she was a 12-time Emmy Award winner. The journalist was well-known for her interviews with high-profile figures, ranging from superstar performer Michael Jackson to former President Ronald Reagan. Her interviews made her a giant in the media industry, and one of the most recognizable figures in news in the Twentieth century.

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything. To honor this great woman of journalism they should put The View on hiatus for a year.

Let none of us forget: "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and twith the measure you use it will be measured to you." (Matthew 7: 1-2) and also "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." (Romans 12:19). Barbara Wa-wa has already found out if her shortcomings have outweighed her positive attributes. She will pay accordingly. Far be it from me to add or detract. However, she does have much to answer for: 1) Making Fidel Castro look humane ... supposedly having been bedded by him ... and despite strong evidence he was a mass murderer 2) covering for Bill and Hillary 3) trashing both presidents Bush 4) despising conservatives .. Trump and his supporters 5) pushing the gay, liberal agenda Mercy for her immortal soul.

Never a fan. Did not like her voice or style. But she broke down a lot of barriers for a whole bunch of women newscasters and journalists. RIP Agree with #2. The View should just have a dark screen with Barbara's dates for at least a year.

Loved it when Gilda Radner did her impression of BaBa WaWa on the old SNL. Baba hated Gilda. And when Baba was teamed with Harry Reasoner. Harry hated her guts was too much of a professional to let it show. It inspired SeeBS to team Dan Rather with Connie Chung. And Danny Boy looked like he was in agony.

RIP. As for Trump... The Wall Street Journal points out tonight she dated Roy Cohen in college; and, points out that Cohen was a mentor to Donald Trump early in Trump’s business career. The New York Times has to say in her obituary: "...She continued to pop up in the gossip pages, notably when she tried to intervene in a vitriolic spat between her “View” colleague Rosie O’Donnell and Donald J. Trump in 2007. (Ms. Walters could be gushing when around Mr. Trump, comparing his family in one “20/20” segment to “American royalty” and, at one point, as Michael D’Antonio recounted in his 2015 Trump biography “Never Enough,” asking him, “If you could be appointed president, and you didn’t have to run, would you like to be president?”)..."

Barbara threw in with the leftists, and destroyed any credibility she could have had. The left built their paradise on a foundation of lies, a foundation which is crumbling.

John Simon paid "tribute" to Barbara Walters in his late '70s essay "Verbal Barbarisms" from the excellent collection Paradigms Lost. I couldn't watch her, but as another said, "Sure, she's bad. But look what we've got now." Sad but true.

MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes said Wednesday on his show “All In” that many people, including him, were “permanently scarred” by Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential victory. Hayes said, “Even by the standards of our time, of this day and age in the avalanche of news and spectacle, this sort of dizzying clawing for your attention the last 24 hours have really been something else. So I want to begin tonight by just taking a second here to try to collectively just wrap our heads around the meaning and significance of what we have seen in the last 24 hours.” He continued, “Of course, we have to begin with the biggest story,

Some conservatives have suggested that the Democrat persecution of Trump won’t stop until conservatives start going after Democrats in the same way. Former George W. Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer is now one of them. Last night on the Hannity show, he suggested that conservative prosecutors need to go after people like the Clintons and Hunter Biden. From Real Clear Politics: FOX News contributor and former Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer on Tuesday talked to FNC host Sean Hannity about how the indictment of former President Donald Trump violates the norms of politics and what Republicans should do to rein in the left.

The dumbest case ever just got dumber. The charges brought against President Trump by New York City DA Alvin Bragg make no sense. You would think that if you were going to indict a President of the United States that you would have a case. But this case offers nothing. DA Bragg should resign. His case against Trump is shockingly weak. On Tuesday, immediately after receiving the indictment against President Trump, TGP analyzed the document. What stuck out was that Soros-backed Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg claims in his charges that President Trump made the accounting entries himself related to this case.

Here is yet another story about a government using eminent domain to steal property from its citizens. In this case, the state of Tennessee is seeking to seize land from farmers in order to benefit a private business. About a year ago, Ford Motor Company began building an electric truck plant in BlueOval City, a rural area of west Tennessee. It was met with optimism from the community at the prospect of having new jobs for residents. The government was enthused about the idea of having another source of tax revenue and made generous offers to the company to establish its plant in the state.

Twitter users first started noticing on Tuesday night that NPR's official account has been labeled "US state-affiliated media." [Tweet] Musk shared Twitter's Help Center definition for state-affiliated media and said it "seems accurate" after Twitter slapped the label on NPR's account.

After Tuesday's arraignment of former President Trump, Republicans rushed to defend him against the political persecution of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. However, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his top allies stayed silent. McConnell, who reportedly hasn't spoken to Trump since December 2020, refrained from making any statement responding to Trump pleading not guilty to 34 felony counts. In fact, the Republican has not said anything regarding the indictment of Trump overall. "If we issue a statement, we will let everyone know," is all McConnell's top spokesman, David Popp, said following the arraignment. Instead, while the whole country was fixated on Trump's arraignment,

Trump attorney Joe Tacopina appeared on Good Day New York Wednesday morning to discuss Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s abusive prosecution of the former president. During the interview, Tacopina described a resolute Trump who remains strong and stiff-spined and determined to pursue a righteous course of legal action. The interview reminds us what a rare individual former President Donald J. Trump is: the more Big Left attacks him, the more energized he becomes to fight back — and he has the guts, spine, and resources to do it. The morning news show Good Day New York on Fox 5 in NYC is an undiscovered gem.

The $10 million-a-day Trump court circus will create a new Manhattan traffic tie-up amid the December Christmas shopping season when Trump returns to Manhattan on December 4 for his next hearing. Shut down Fifth Avenue and the FDR Drive. Close 56th Street and Fifth Avenue on the first Sunday after the big tree lighting. Oh my. New York is a glutton for punishment. The message from the court is: Rockefeller Center be jammed. In Florida, you can do procedural hearings on the phone if warranted. The defendant need not be present for a series of motions. Of course, New York still does many court filings on paper and not online.

RedState’s Nick Arama has had Alvin Bragg’s number for quite some time, predicting that the 34-count indictment would amount to charge stacking and that there could be nothing a serious lawyer would put their name to in it (and she’s written a new analysis now that we have the actual indictment, here). I wrote earlier that once we saw the indictment we knew why Alvin Bragg wanted it to be sealed as long as possible, and that according to one reporter who was in the courtroom Trump’s attorneys laughed when they read it. Trump’s attorney Joseph Tacopino seemed to confirm this with an answer during a press conference after the indictment:
