Kari Lake's election case will be going to trial, after attempts to throw it out by Governor elect Katie Hobbs were squashed on Monday.  Lake was the Republican nominee for governor in Arizona and has launched legal action to have her defeat overturned or have the election rerun because of problems at polling stations. The two phases that will be moving forward to trial are her chain of custody challenges and intentional malice regarding widespread printer breakdowns - leading to her loss to Democrat Katie Hobbs. Hoo boy. If Michael Shellenberger‘s latest tranche from the Twitter Files gets corroborated, the FBI didn’t just target speech on social-media platforms in a presidential election. The files released today suggests that the FBI acted to preemptively suppress an accurate news report even before it got published — with no actual evidence that it was part of an intelligence operation. Before we go much further, let’s ask ourselves this question: what the hell is the FBI doing in these transactions at all? The law, invoked by Donald Trump in March 2020, allows the United States to force new migrants to turn back to where they come from, without the usual asylum procedures. Mayor Eric Adams is warning that there could be upwards of 1,000 migrants bused into the city each and every week, if the policy is allowed to expire. The absurdity of the concept of reparations for slavery, an institution that ended several generations ago, is beyond mind-boggling. But there’s a blatantly cynical reason for the sudden lurch in that direction: formerly reliable Black voters are now slipping away from the Democrats. This also explains Biden’s recently expressed profuse generosity towards the nations of sub-Saharan Africa. What is also painfully obvious is the lame, demagogic pandering that is the Democrats’ knee-jerk response, especially to a defecting constituency: just throw money at them and that’ll keep ‘em on the reservation.

Election denier Kari Lake promised Sunday to take her fight all the way to the Supreme Court if her case that is thrown out in a hearing on Monday. Lake was the Republican nominee for governor in Arizona and has launched legal action to have her defeat overturned or have the election rerun because of problems at polling stations. 'I'm not going to stand down,' she told supporters at a gathering of conservatives in Phoenix. 'These people are corrupt.'  Governor elect Katie Hobbs says that her claims do not stand up to scrutiny. She wants Lake's suit thrown out.

On ABC’s This Week, during her interview with Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott, co-moderator Martha Raddatz suggested that Republican messaging on the border is what’s causing the massive influx of migrants pouring across the southern border. According to Raddatz, Republicans stating aloud the fact that the border isn’t secured, is the reason for the border crisis, not the fact that the border is unsecured. “You talk about the border wall, you talk about open borders, I don't think I've ever heard President Biden say, we have an open border come on over,” Raddatz said.

Hollywood put more abortion plotlines in its TV shows in 2022 than in any of the past five years, as the studios and networks ratcheted up the outrage machine following the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade. There were at least 60 abortion plotlines or mentions of abortion in 52 distinct TV shows from January to December 2022 — more than any other year since 2016, according to the annual “Abortion Onscreen” report from the pro-abortion organization Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health. That outnumbers the 47 abortion plotlines in 42 shows in 2021, the report said.
